Chapter 56 Nian Nian went crazy
It came over coldly and glanced at Nian Nian chattering at it with its black pupils nonchalantly, then turned its head away, twitched the tips of its ears, and licked its paws leisurely with its head down.
His whole body, from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail, reveals an attitude of indifference.
The first time the little one received such indifference was like a bolt from the blue. Nian Nian faltered, her feet twitching in bewilderment, her expression stunned, as if she didn't know how to handle such a complete lack of attention. This was the first time the beloved child had been frustrated by a kitten.
Nian Nian was dazed, and the anger in his voice faded a little, less self-righteous. He stared at the kitten with pure black fur eagerly: "Come here and talk."
"Alright. I won't argue with you anymore. Since you don't think you look like a kitten, then so be it." Xi Zimu took the initiative to withdraw from the debate on whether Nian Nian looked like a kitten. There was no point in arguing, so the worst that could happen was that he just felt like one.
Xi Zimu scratched his chin and said, "Maybe I don't want to talk now."
Just like when you're in a close competition with your opponent and they say, "I don't want to play anymore," Nian Nian's mood is also stuck. The little one, just over a year old, doesn't understand the feeling of being frustrated, so he can only strategically ignore it.
Coincidentally, as he looked at the person who ignored him, his little heart was overwhelmed by another emotion that could not be ignored.
He opened his mouth to speak in distress, but paused, and asked Xi Zimu a more pressing question: "What's your name?"
"Xi Zimu. I call you Nian Nian, and you call me Mu Mu, how about that?" Xi Zimu gave him an option.
Nian Nian went downhill and hummed. The sadness that had been accumulating for a while poured out like a dam opened, and it continued to flow. His mouth turned down a little, and his already sweet voice softened because of the grievance: "Mu Mu, come here, do you really not like Nian Nian?"
Xi Zimu let out a confused cry.
Nian Nian felt uncomfortable when she thought about being hated by cats. In his dictionary in the past, the word "hate" had not yet been born. But it might be born now. He curled up his legs, turned his shoes on his feet a few times, and drooped his eyes pitifully: "Mu Mu, Nian Nian likes to come over. Come here, do you hate Nian Nian?"
"Hate?" Xi Zimu was surprised that Nian Nian asked such a question. He didn't even hesitate for a second and denied it directly. "Of course not. Why do you think I hate you?"
"Come here, I don't want to miss you." The frustrated white ball poked the white palm of his left hand with the fingers of his right hand. While talking with his little friend, his eyes still kept dropping to Lailai from time to time, but the proud and elegant little black cat did not give him any response from beginning to end.
All these behavioral signs are proof that this little bad cat hates Nian Nian, and for the little guy, this is ironclad evidence.
The more Nian Nian thought about it, the more she felt that this was the case. The movements of anxiously stabbing her palms unconsciously became faster and larger in amplitude.
"Meow——" The girl came over and her attention was attracted by his shaking hand. She let out a long cry. Her whiskers as thin as fishing thread were almost transparent in the air, and her black cat claws pressed down on the back of Nian Nian's hand.
The black cat's claws moved so fast that only a shadow remained. Nian Nian stopped moving unexpectedly, tilted her head slightly, and stared at it cautiously.
It came over like a clockwork robotic kitten, its obsidian eyes motionless, staring fixedly at Nian Nian's hand, its claws never leaving, stubbornly pressing on the back of Nian Nian's hand.
"Come here? What's wrong with you?" Nian Nian asked it.
The kitten seemed to be unconscious of the approaching, and was as steady as Mount Tai, like a tree root firmly grasping the ground in a violent storm.
"Mumu. Come here, like this. Are you sick?"
Nian Nian had never seen Yuan Yuan like this before. He jumped and danced all day long, so it was impossible for him to stay still like this. Unless the goat milk he drank was placed on top of the refrigerator, he would squat in front of the refrigerator and stare at the goat milk for hours.
"No, your hands were moving just now. It likes it and wants to play with you." The young cat-raising master Xi Zimu said in a knowledgeable manner.
Nian Nian was a little shy: "Come here, I like Nian Nian. Well, Nian Nian is wrong."
Shi Guilin, who was watching their interaction silently, slightly raised the corners of his lips.
As the group untied Xiao Wulong and the atmosphere was harmonious, Lai, who had been motionless for a moment, suddenly withdrew his paw from the back of Nian Nian's hand. He propped his upper body up on Xi Zimu, his two front paws darting back and forth in the air, searching for an enemy. The dark shadows of his paws cast afterimages in the brightly lit living room.
Shi Guilin's heart skipped a beat. Worried that the cat would catch Nian Nian, he instinctively raised his arm, tucked the little guy into his arms, and hugged him tightly.
Nian Nian widened her eyes, staring blankly at the magical operation that was happening.
Xi Zimu calmly caught the cat that was about to fly away and pressed it back onto his lap. At the same time, he said to Shi Guilin, "Don't be afraid, uncle. This happens all the time. It won't catch you. It just wants to play."
He saw that the muscles in Shi Guilin's arms bulged when he hugged Nian Nian tightly, and he must have been very scared.
Shi Gui Lin Moran: "...I'm not afraid of cats." He was just afraid that the cat would catch Nian Nian.
Curious baby Nian Nian is studious and inquisitive: "Mu Mu. Come here and wave goodbye to Nian Nian. Nian Nian won't leave." It's not time for him to leave the Xi family yet.
"It's not goodbye." Xi Zimu tried to answer the question with the answer that Ms. Xi Zhu had given him. "I asked my mother, and she said that I was crazy when I came here."
Shi Guilin's mouth twitched. He hadn't expected the intellectually generous Teacher Xi Zhu to be so informal in her daily life. Look at the way she used words—so direct.
Nian Nian repeated: "Are you crazy?" He was a little confused.
"Well..." Xi Zimu changed the way he said it, "Mom sometimes says she's going crazy."
"Going crazy?" Nian Nian muttered to herself. I don't know what was going on in his little head. He suddenly waved his hands fiercely, "Nian Nian will go crazy too."
The tone was quite proud.
Xi Zimu: “…” He also said that he didn’t look like the one who followed him, and when he went crazy, he was almost the same.
Hey. Xi Zimu suddenly realized something was wrong. He waved his hands with a choppy movement, his expression vague: "I think I'm going crazy too. Are we two crazy kids?"
Nian Nian thought for a long time and came to a conclusion: "It seems so."
Shi Guilin pursed his lips tightly together for a moment. He couldn't control himself; he was about to burst out laughing. The children's half-understanding of what they were saying—you couldn't understand me, I couldn't understand you, and even worse, they couldn't understand themselves—was just hilarious.
The hour hand on the wall clock ticked tirelessly. Time slipped by quietly as they chatted and laughed. Shi Guilin and his companions had left home around nine o'clock, and it was now nearly eleven.
Xi Zhu casually glanced at the wall clock and exclaimed, "It's almost noon. Why don't you stay for lunch?"
