In the darkness of night.
Kangming Old Street, under the ginkgo trees.
Lu Ziming, dressed in a light gray overcoat with a black lining, stood by the streetlight with a relaxed and languid posture.
His gaze was fixed intently on the corner of the road, as if he were waiting for something.
The streetlights cast his shadow long.
After a while, Lu Ziming raised his hand and glanced at his watch: 20:35.
He slowly lowered his eyes.
Perhaps, my sister won't come.
She didn't show up on her eighteenth birthday.
He was insignificant to his sister.
It felt like my heart had been squeezed hard.
Lu Ziming clenched his fists so tightly that his nails dug into his flesh, and blood gushed from his palms, but he seemed not to feel the pain.
"Sister, are you going to abandon me again this time?"
A heart sank heavily.
Suddenly, footsteps could be heard.
Lu Ziming was trembling uncontrollably.
I suddenly looked up and gazed over there.
Staring intently, without missing a single detail.
As the figure drew closer, a familiar fragrance filled my nostrils.
"Sorry I'm late."
Wen Ni walked up to him, her gaze sweeping over his bleeding fingers, and her brows furrowed.
What happened to your hand?
Lu Ziming realized what had happened and put his hands behind his back. "It's nothing, I just bumped into it by accident."
Wen Ni didn't believe it. "Take it out and spread it out so I can see."
In an instant, their eyes met.
Seeing that he didn't move, Wen Ni turned around decisively, "If you don't let me see it, I'm leaving."
Lu Ziming had waited so long for her, how could he possibly let her go?
"Don't."
"Sister, let me show you."
He opened his palm; it was a bloody mess.
shocking.
Wen Ni's brow twitched; she had already guessed what was going on. "You little madwoman!"
Lu Ziming: "Sister, don't be angry. If you don't like it, I will never do it again."
Wen Ni didn't expect him to be so crazy; he thought that if she didn't come, he would harm himself.
Lu Ziming was lost in memories: "Sister, when we were little, we often stayed here. You would do your homework and I would hold an umbrella for you."
"Do you remember the hole we drilled in the tree?"
"You said that as long as you make a wish at the entrance of the cave, your wish will come true sooner or later."
"Back then, I made a wish to the cave..."
Wen Ni's thoughts were drawn back to the present, and she slowly asked, "You asked me out just to catch up?"
The deep affection in Lu Ziming's eyes was almost enough to drown a person.
"Sister, I made a wish."
"When I come of age, I will tell someone that there has always been someone in my heart."
"I want to confess my feelings to her. I pray to the gods that she will accept my confession."
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Clusters of fireworks illuminated the night, creating a dazzling spectacle.
Grand and enduring.
It's colorful and very beautiful.
This is a spectacular fireworks display.
Released only for one person.
"Sister, I like you."
A slightly hoarse voice rang out.
Two seconds later.
Another sentence.
"Sister, I love you."
Lu Ziming slowly approached her, "Sister, if you want to play, play with me, but don't play with anyone else."
Wen Ni's heart skipped a beat.
"play?"
"I don't want to play anymore."
"..." Lu Ziming felt like he had been stabbed in the heart.
His eyes reddened.
Wen Ni said, enunciating each word clearly: "I don't want to play games, I want to do it for real."
"Lu Ziming, I accept your confession."
Lu Ziming stood there, stunned.
