Su Li hailed a taxi and was about to return to Taoyuan when she suddenly received calls from Meng Sangsang and Ye Shi.
Ten minutes later, she arrived at a coffee shop.
"Ah Li, are you alright?"
Meng Sangsang rushed over, grabbed her hand, spun her around, and looked her up and down carefully.
Ye Shi walked over from the side, her face also showing concern.
Su Li smiled and said, "I'm fine. Why are you all waiting for me here?"
Ye Shi, “I saw you being taken away by the police and I was very worried about you, so I asked Sang Sang to go with me to look for you, but when we got to the police station, they said you had already been taken away.”
"I'm fine, don't worry."
Meng Sangsang tugged at her clothes, which were still damp. "What happened to you? It didn't rain today."
"It got a little wet from being splashed with water, it's nothing."
"Did someone bully you? Tell me who it is, and I'll settle the score with them!"
Meng Sangsang clenched her fists angrily, ready to settle the score.
Su Li pulled her aside and said, "It's okay, I'll explain it to you when I have time. It's not something I can explain in a short time."
Ye Shi said, "Then let us take you to change your clothes. There's a shopping mall nearby, so we can go shopping while we're at it."
"Great! I haven't gone shopping in ages. I'm free tonight, let's go!"
Meng Sangsang and Ye Shi pulled Su Li away.
Su Li was hoping to go back early, but the two of them clung to her, and she didn't get a chance to say anything.
Su Li went into a clothing store to change her clothes, while Meng Sangsang asked the shop assistant about the latest dresses.
Ye Shi was admiring a set of children's clothes, wondering if she should get one for Xiao Zhe.
"These are the most popular children's clothes this year; you might consider buying a set," the salesperson said as they approached.
Ye Shi nodded, checked the sizes, and asked for the smallest set.
My phone suddenly rang while I was making the payment.
"Just a moment," she told the clerk, then walked aside to answer the phone.
"Hello?"
"Where have you been? Did you ignore what I said?" The man's cold voice seemed to burst from between his teeth, unusually icy and chilling.
"I'm out shopping with my friends, I'll be home later."
"Where are you? I'll send a driver to pick you up right now!"
Ye Shi glanced at Su Li and Meng Sangsang in the shop. Su Li had already changed her clothes.
She doesn't want to go back now.
"Later."
"Ye Shi, do you remember what I said? If you don't come back within ten minutes, you'll face the consequences!"
The call was disconnected.
Ye Shi's hand holding the phone trembled slightly. Fu Zelian had just been angry, and he was terrifying when he was angry.
Meng Sangsang came over and called to her, "What's wrong? Ali's outfit looks really nice, come and take a look and see what you think."
"I might have to go now."
"So fast?"
Su Li walked over and heard it too, realizing that it was probably her husband urging her.
Fu Zelian is such a serious person, he must be unhappy that Ye Shi is still outside at this hour.
"It's alright, you can go back now. We can get together again next time," Su Li said.
Ye Shi left with a look of shame and reluctance, watching them go.
Meng Sangsang sighed softly and shrugged, "She's a henpecked husband. As soon as her husband speaks, she has to obediently go back. It's better not to get married; she can be free and unrestrained."
"Don't say that. They have their own way of getting along. Ye Shi's decision to go back must have been out of necessity."
"Alright, let's explore on our own then."
Just as Meng Sangsang was about to link arms with Su Li, she heard her say, "I have to go back too. You should go home early as well."
"Oh, why are you all leaving, leaving me all alone again!"
Meng Sangsang looked mournful, as if she had just broken up with her boyfriend.
