Chapter 382 Trust from the Person Beside You

Quan Ye lifted the blanket on the hospital bed and saw Zhou Kai lying quietly.

He reached out to check his breath, but there were no signs of life.

What's going on?

Zhang Quan said, "This morning, when the doctors and nurses came to check on us, they found us all lying on the ground. When they came in, they found Zhou Kai lying there quietly with wounds on his body. He was already gone."

"Didn't you find anything during last night's ward rounds?" Quan Ye's gloomy face was tinged with a thin layer of anger.

"The doctors and nurses on this floor all fainted, and no one noticed until they woke up in the morning. Moreover, the surveillance cameras were all out of order."

So many people were drugged and knocked out, it's clear the perpetrators came prepared, and Zhou Kai's death couldn't have been an accident.

Quan Ye reached out and lifted Zhou Kai's clothes, seeing a clear knife wound on his abdomen, the blood already dried.

The area around the hospital bed was clean; if it hadn't been examined, no one would have known he had been stabbed to death.

When the person left, they tidied up the ward inside and out.

Zhang Quan: "Master Quan, you suspect someone did this, killing someone outright. What was their motive for doing so?"

"Their motives are impure; they're either targeting me or Su Li."

"Mr. Tang, Miss Su."

At that moment, a bodyguard's respectful voice rang out from outside the door.

Quan Ye looked up and saw Su Li walking in arm in arm with Old Tang. Both grandfather and granddaughter seemed to be in a good mood.

"What are you doing here?" Su Li asked in surprise.

Old Tang immediately noticed something was wrong and his gaze fell on the person on the hospital bed.

Quan Ye covered them with the blanket, then came over to lead them out, saying, "Let's talk outside."

Su Li: "What happened?"

Old Tang's face turned cold. He gently pushed Quan Ye's hand away and said, "Say what you have to say here. There's no need to go outside. I came here today to see Zhou Kai. How is he?"

Quan Ye didn't speak, and Old Tang led his men closer to the hospital bed.

The bodyguard pulled back the covers and reached out to touch Zhou Kai's neck.

"He's dead."

Su Li and Old Tang's expressions both changed.

"How could someone just disappear like that?"

She walked to the bedside and saw that the person's face was pale and purple, and that they had been dead for some time.

Old Tang snorted coldly and looked at Quan Ye, questioning, "President Quan, can you tell me why someone could die under your command?"

Quan Ye: "I just received the news. Someone sneaked in here last night and drugged everyone, so no one noticed."

“I don’t want to hear excuses. Zhou Kai’s death at this time is no coincidence.”

"Mr. Tang, are you saying I deliberately killed him?"

The tension between the two intensified, and the atmosphere gradually changed.

Su Li quickly said, "Grandpa, I believe Master Quan wouldn't harm anyone. Zhou Kai's death definitely has nothing to do with him. He even helped me before..."

"Su girl, do you know what he's done?"

Although Old Tang was very reluctant to wrong Quan Ye, all the evidence pointed to him, so he had no choice but to be suspicious.

"Grandpa, what do you mean by that?"

"There are rumors that the Su family went bankrupt and that your parents' deaths are inextricably linked to Quan Ye."

Upon hearing this, Quan Ye's expression hardened further, and his brows furrowed.

Su Li: "Impossible, he's not that kind of person. Grandpa, are you misunderstanding something?"

Old Tang sighed softly, glanced sadly at Zhou Kai on the bed, and pulled Su Li out.

"Grandpa, please explain yourself clearly first."

"Walk!"

Su Li was forcibly dragged away.

As she passed by Quan Ye, she said anxiously, "Don't worry, I'll ask Grandpa about it."

They left the ward, leaving only Quan Ye's men.

Zhang Quan cautiously stepped forward, "Master Quan, are you alright?"

"Dispose of Zhou Kai's body properly, and then investigate this matter."

He walked out with a sullen face.

“Grandpa, how could you say that? Quan Ye didn’t do anything. It’s so unfair to accuse him like that.”

After getting into the car, Su Li couldn't help but speak up for him.

Old Tang said earnestly, "You're too young, girl. You've been fooled by him without even realizing it. I already have evidence that your parents' deaths were somewhat related to him, and now your uncle's death. I don't want to suspect him, but the facts are right in front of us."

She shook her head. "No, I believe him."
