Song Wan was imprisoned for several days and nights, and she looked extremely haggard when she was released.

Liu Meiqin felt a surge of anger when she saw him, and her words instantly turned sharp and sarcastic. "What are you doing going in? You're Wan'er's bodyguard, not her boyfriend. It's all your fault for not protecting Wan'er properly, causing her to be detained. With a jinx like you by Wan'er's side, nothing she does goes smoothly!"
Chen Qi kept his head down and didn't say anything.
"You put on such an honest and obedient act, but who are you trying to fool? I know what you've been up to all these years by Wan'er's side. I'm warning you, Mr. Chen, you're not good enough for Wan'er. You're just a rotten apple on the street trying to get your hands on the Song family's daughter. You're not even worthy to carry Wan'er's shoes."
"Whoosh—" The tightly closed door suddenly opened.
After washing up and changing into a nightgown, Song Wan said expressionlessly with her hair down, "Mom, stop talking."
"Wan'er, you finally opened the door! Mom will come in and talk to you."
"No need, just let Chen Qi in."
Liu Meiqin glanced at Chen Qi beside her, her face full of disdain.
Chen Qi turned and went into the room, closing the door behind him.

Liu Meiqin returned to her room to get ready, while making a phone call, "Hello, meet me later, same place."
When Chen Qi entered the room, he saw Song Wan sitting by the bay window, wearing a spaghetti strap nightgown, with several bruises on her exposed skin.

Song Wan grabbed his hand and led him step by step toward the bed.
"Don't go yet, stay with me."
