After parting ways with Mr. John, Su Li went to meet up with Meng Sangsang and Xiao Chen.
She walked to the restaurant entrance and saw Meng Sangsang saying goodbye to her classmates.
"Bye-bye, see you next time."
Meng Sangsang was very happy and put her arm around Su Chen's shoulder as she walked up to her.
"See? I've won over all your brother's classmates. No one will dare to gossip about Xiao Chen anymore."
Su Li raised an eyebrow. "What gossip?"
Su Chen pursed his lips and scratched the back of his head.
Meng Sangsang: "After the parent-teacher meeting today, I overheard some classmates talking about Xiaochen behind his back. They said he was an orphan child who had no one to raise him, that he had a cruel uncle and aunt, that his family was dirt poor, and that the clothes he was wearing were picked up from the trash can."
And do you know what's even more outrageous? They actually said that no matter how good Xiaochen's grades are, he'll never amount to anything. Can you believe how infuriating that is?
Su Li narrowed her beautiful eyes slightly and looked at Su Chen, asking, "Is everything Sister Sangsang said true?"
Su Chen rolled his eyes, shrugged, and said, "That's not entirely true. These are the words of bad kids. There are many good kids who say them too."
Meng Sangsang patted her chest and said, "Don't worry, I'm here today. I'll take care of them all and let them know that Xiaochen has a rich older sister. He's not a child who's left unattended. They won't dare to bully our Xiaochen anymore."
Su Li reached out and gently rubbed her younger brother's head. "I'm sorry, it's because I didn't care about you enough. I didn't even know you suffered so much at school."
"It's okay, sis. You've worked so hard. My problem is nothing. I can handle it myself," Su Chen said seriously, like a little adult.
The three of them exchanged a glance and burst out laughing.
"Beep beep—"
A black Rolls-Royce pulled up, its headlights shining on them.
The three of them covered their eyes and it took them a while to see clearly.
When Meng Sangsang saw the unusual license plate, she immediately felt a jolt. "Um, I have to go now. Xiao Chen, why don't you have your sister take you back to school?"
After saying that, she turned and ran away.
Su Chen asked in confusion, "Sis, why is Sister Sangsang running so fast?"
"She's timid."
Su Li walked to the car, and just then the window rolled down, revealing a man wearing sunglasses.
"Mr. Quan, what are you doing here?"
"I came out to run some errands, Secretary Su. Can I consider this as absenteeism?"
"I didn't skip work. I just came out to have lunch and pick up my younger brother."
Quan Ye's dark eyes, hidden behind his sunglasses, swept lightly over Su Chen, who was standing not far away. "Get in the car, I'll give you a ride."
Su Li looked embarrassed. "No need, I can take him back to school myself."
"Who is this, sister?" Su Chen asked curiously as he leaned closer.
The main thing is that this car is so cool, and this uncle looks so handsome.
"My boss." Su Li subconsciously didn't want Su Chen to know Quan Ye.
"Kid, do you like this car?" Quan Ye asked casually.
"I love it! It's so cool and stylish. I want to buy one when I grow up," Su Chen said happily.
Su Li was helpless. Did he even know how much the car cost? Yet he dared to say he wanted to buy it too.
There are very few cars of this caliber in the entire city of Haicheng.
"I can give you one."
A car is nothing to Quan Ye.
Su Chen glanced at Su Li's gloomy face and said sensibly, "Uncle, I can earn the money to buy it myself. You don't need to give it to me. As the saying goes, 'He who takes a man's money is bound to be grateful.'"
The word "uncle" made Quan Ye frown.
Su Li thought he was annoyed by his younger brother's noise, so she quickly said, "Master Quan, I'll take Xiao Chen to school first."
"I said I would deliver it."
The driver got out of the car and opened the doors for them himself.
Before Su Li could decide whether to go or not, Su Chen had already bent down and sat on her.
"Sis, come on up quickly."
