Chapter 340 Responsible

Chapter 340 Responsible

Four days later, Jiang Xianwan's expression was numb, her eyes lifeless, and she shook the silk ribbons that were wrapped around her body into a pretzel shape.

Feng Huixue's gaze swept across the sky, the water, and the trees, trying to conceal her presence, but she dared not look at her.

She coughed lightly, feeling guilty, her ear tips turning red.

Hesitant and stammering.

"Who told you to be so..."

"I was just...that..."

Jiang Xianwan: "..."

A moment of silence.

Which one is she?

Does he really have to have that?

She wants to leave, but he should let go of her hand first!

If they absolutely refuse to shed it, then so be it.

He even acted like a virtuous gentleman, considerately tying her up like a rice dumpling!

Bundled up like a rice dumpling... it's barely acceptable.

The question is, why not throw her further away!

If he didn't throw it away, fine, but what did he do?

Many times, she tried with great willpower to slide off his lap and get away from him.

He's fine, though.

She skated.

He fished.

She skated.

He fished.

You have to dip tripe seven or eight times when cooking it, but she couldn't even slide it down once!

He insisted on placing her on his lap, staring at her with wide eyes, watching her gurgle like a caterpillar with its bottom on fire!

She was so tired from twisting and turning.

Faced with such a face she had longed for day and night, her mind still clouded, she impulsively wanted to... have sex with him countless times.

What about him?

Her reaction was even stronger than hers.

It was as if he was the one caught in the throes of spring fever, suffering agonizingly alongside her...

Countless times, I almost... but I still couldn't withstand it.

Even so, they gritted their teeth and refused to loosen their grip even slightly!

Although they didn't take any further action, their intimate sitting posture amidst the ups and downs of the water was hardly a proper scene.

Both of them were going crazy from holding it in.

One wanted to escape, but the other wouldn't let them.

Her outer garment was thin, and her clothes, which were covered in wind and snow, were also open and disheveled, which was like adding oil to a pot of fire.

She almost burned to death.

The spring tide period during her tribulation was already unbearable, and these past few days she'd been like a madwoman, crying like a dog.

They scratched and clawed, leaving countless fingernail marks on his body, and even scratched his face a couple of times.

The dead fox had two scratch marks on his fair cheeks. He held her tightly as he argued, while nervously coaxing her to bear with it... all the while groaning incessantly in her ear.

Is this something a human being could do?

No.

This is something only a fox would do!

Jiang Xianwan's eyelashes drooped listlessly, and beneath her unseen eyes lay an indescribable bewilderment.

Even though the person in front of her was indeed Feng Huixue, she didn't want anything to happen between them or to cross any boundaries with him.

All she wanted was her fox.

But Feng Huixue in front of him clearly didn't think that way.

Thinking of this, Jiang Xianwan was about to get up when Feng Huixue quickly grabbed her arm and gently pressed her waist with her long, slender fingers, pinning her back onto her lap.

His eyes looked innocent.

Where to?

Jiang Xianwan: "..."

See? He's very skilled at it.

Where to?

Where can she go?

We can't keep hugging like this forever, can we?

It's obvious that the latter thinks that way.

He forcefully drew her into his very being, his chin resting naturally on her slender shoulder as if it were his exclusive place.

Then, that voice, warm and gentle, brushed past her ear, its tone low and aggrieved.

She acted exactly the same way when she was being naughty with the fox.

"Don't leave."

"You've seen my body, taken advantage of me, and now you want to leave? Jiang Xianwan, do you have no heart?"

Jiang Xianwan was stunned.

He was taken aback as to how he knew her name, and finally remembered the lingering, persistent, and unending whispers he had heard over the past four days.

Her eyes flickered several times before finally settling into a complex mix of emotions.

How did you know my name is Jiang Xianwan?

She didn't say anything.

The two stared at each other, and Feng Huixue raised her eyelashes and glared at her like a resentful woman.

Without a word, he pressed her even deeper into his arms, burying his face, sticky and soft, into the crook of her neck, his warm breath falling upon her.

"I don't know," he said in a muffled voice, his self-righteousness mixed with a hint of grievance, "I just blurted it out because I thought that way."

Before she could retort, he suddenly began to speak clearly, his tone carrying a mix of annoyance and reproach.

"Also, don't try to distract yourself. Jiang Xianwan, you have to take responsibility."

"We cannot fail!"

He'd let her touch his tail, seen his entire body upside down, and even sat on his legs... down there too...

Why shouldn't they take responsibility!

That night, after Jiang Xianwan severed his spiritual bond with him, he felt increasingly wronged and regretful as he left. So, he angrily returned to find her and demand an explanation.

Seeing that no one was in the lake, they assumed she had run away and were gritting their teeth, preparing to notify all the demons to capture her, when they heard a slight commotion at the bottom of the lake and realized something was wrong.

Even now, the lingering fear of almost missing out that day still pierces his heart like ice thorns, causing him to unconsciously tighten his grip on his arm.

He kept gently rubbing against that neck, his voice muffled and soft, acting like a scoundrel.

"I don't care, you have to take responsibility."

Jiang Xianwan was silent for a moment, her eyes deep, her voice low and clear, "Aren't you going to marry Lin Qingran?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Feng Huixue's breath, which was pressed against her neck, paused almost imperceptibly, and her jaw tightened slightly.

In the unseen depths of his eyes, a sullenness and deep-seated malevolence, as he was always present, surged forth.

He closed his eyes briefly, and when he opened them again, all those terrifying emotions had been suppressed, leaving no trace.

I didn't want her to see me in such a wretched state.

In the end, only a low groan escaped from its throat, sounding like it was aggrieved, or perhaps a stubborn attempt to avoid the situation.

"Who wants to marry her?"

He paused for a moment.

He playfully rubbed against her neck.

"Only you have seen me, touched me, and...and...I don't care! You take responsibility, you take responsibility."

The wedding.

What grand wedding is this?

It's utterly ridiculous.

Rather, it's more accurate to say... it's their death day.

If it weren't for the sake of all living beings, and to protect the countless innocent lives behind them...

Why should he endure such forbearance, willingly allowing his reputation to be ruined and him to be manipulated by that evil entity?

But now...

He was unwilling to maintain even this superficial facade for a moment longer.

He refused.

He was unwilling to bear this filthy reputation, which would become a barrier between him and Jiang Xianwan.

He didn't want to upset her or cause her any distress.

His ideas differed from those of Yun Weize and the others.

Since the outcome is already decided, and death is inevitable either way... why should a dying person humiliate himself by bearing that disgusting so-called "royal consort" title?

He wanted to spend some time with her, perhaps, stolen time.

But one thing, like a thin, cold needle, is now stuck in his heart, causing him inexplicable panic.

Why did Jiang Xianwan come to this mortal world...?

What does she want to do...?

Her sword was clearly aimed at Lin Qingran and that evil creature.

Otherwise, how could he have uttered such provocative words in the communication channel between the two realms and three domains?

Just thinking about it made him unable to feel at ease.

Only by keeping him under his nose and hiding him can he feel at ease to do his thing.

Perhaps then she can safely return to the mortal world that belongs to her.
