23. His medicine
After hesitating for a few seconds, Ke Qi decided to ask Gu Zhao for help.
It's okay. They're a couple anyway. He's already done things like hugging and kissing her intimately when he's not wearing clothes. Getting her a towel is nothing compared to that.
Thinking of this, she walked to the bathroom door, opened it a crack, and called out, "Gu Zhao, could you go to the bedroom and get me a bath towel?"
Upon hearing the voice, Gu Zhao, who was sitting in the living room scrolling through her phone, put down her phone almost without hesitation and said decisively, "Okay."
After saying that, he glanced around and locked his gaze on the direction of her bedroom.
A moment later, there was a knock on the bathroom door.
"Ke Qi".
As soon as he finished speaking, the door opened gently.
Then, a porcelain-white arm reached out from the crack in the door and took the bath towel from his hand.
"Thank you, Gu Zhao."
The girl's cheeks, flushed from the steam, smiled at him and said, "I took the wrong one earlier, sorry for the trouble."
As she spoke, a rich, sweet fragrance suddenly filled the air, eagerly wafting into Gu Zhao's nostrils.
In that instant, my throat felt like it was being attacked, inexplicably parched.
Even deep within his body, an inexplicable urge surged forth uncontrollably.
Gu Zhao calmly withdrew his hand after handing over the towel, and as the girl was about to close the door, he asked casually, "What brand of shower gel do you use?"
His gaze fell on the girl's beautiful collarbone, which held a small puddle of water, and his eyes darkened: "It smells nice."
"Yeah?"
Ke Qi raised her hand and sniffed it, puzzled: "It's just a very ordinary jasmine-scented shower gel. It was a free gift during the last shopping promotion. Is it supposed to smell good? I can't smell it."
How could I not smell it? It's clearly very strong.
But Gu Zhao did not continue to argue. She lowered her eyes and said, "Go ahead and wash. Call me if you need anything."
After saying that, he turned around and went back to the living room.
"Okay."
Ke Qi took the bath towel, closed the door, and then raised her hand to smell herself.
It really doesn't have much of a fragrance.
Could it be that she's been in the bathroom for too long and has become desensitized to the smell?
Or is it that her nose has stopped working?
Ke Qi didn't know, and didn't think much of it. She quickly wrapped a towel around herself and walked out of the bathroom.
At that moment, Gu Zhao, who was sitting in the living room playing on his phone, paused.
here we go again.
The aroma seemed even stronger now.
The thirst in my throat became even more intense, and even drinking water didn't seem to help much.
And that impulse from before is surging upwards again.
The girl who was the culprit was completely unaware of this, humming a song as she dried her hair with a hairdryer in her bedroom.
Gu Zhao looked at the graceful and slender figure, his eyes darkening slightly.
A few seconds later...
Keqi was enjoying drying her hair when suddenly a large, bony hand snatched the hairdryer away.
She was a little confused, looked up at the young man who was a whole head taller than her, and asked in confusion, "Gu Zhao, what are you doing?"
Gu Zhao didn't speak, but after adjusting the temperature of the airflow, he said, "Sit down, I'll blow on it for you."
Ke Qi blinked.
Is that so thoughtful?
She smiled and said casually, "Okay."
After saying that, she obediently brought over a high stool and sat down comfortably to be served.
Her boyfriend insisted on serving her, so she figured she might as well enjoy it.
Thinking this, she continued humming a song, her glossy toes bobbing along with it, looking exceptionally content.
Gu Zhao thought silently, completely unprepared.
He gently lifted her glossy black hair and patiently dried it for her.
That smell was not an illusion.
At close range, the sensation emanating from her body was so intense it felt like a thickening stimulant.
With a whooshing sound, he casually asked, "Did you just apply body lotion?"
"No."
Ke Qi turned her head to look at him: "What's wrong? Did you smell something again?"
The girl has an amazing amount of hair; when it's down, it can cover up a lot of things.
When you turn your head to the side, the hair moves and reveals its original beauty.
And so, those fair and full curves crashed into Gu Zhao's eyes with tremendous impact.
"Um."
He answered, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly, and reached out to turn her head back.
"Don't move." His tone was calm, but upon closer listening, it sounded somewhat hoarse.
Ke Qi asked in confusion, "Gu Zhao, your voice sounds a little hoarse. Do you have a cold?"
"No."
As Gu Zhao spoke, his slender fingers pierced through her hair, casually brushing against her scalp.
It's a little itchy.
Ke Qi flinched slightly, as if she had been electrocuted.
"Okay, then drink more water, it can help prevent it."
She thoughtfully reminded him, completely oblivious to the increasingly dark and unfathomable eyes of the young man behind him.
A short while later, the hair dryer finally stopped making noise.
He blew so comfortingly that Keqi almost fell asleep.
She stood up, intending to turn back and thank him.
But as soon as she moved, she seemed to throw herself into his arms, pressing against his chest and being held firmly in his embrace.
"Ke Qi".
Gu Zhao suddenly called out to her.
Whether it was Keqi's imagination or not, she felt as if there was something invisible, thick, and dangerous in the air.
She looked up at Gu Zhao and saw his Adam's apple bob slightly. His long, narrow peach blossom eyes looked at her with an inexplicable burning intensity.
"What's wrong?" Ke Qi asked worriedly, looking at his slightly reddened eyes. "Gu Zhao, are you feeling unwell?"
"If you're feeling unwell, don't hold it in. I'll go with you to the doctor..."
"I do feel a little uncomfortable," Gu Zhao interrupted her.
As he spoke, he grasped her smooth, delicate shoulders with his large hand, suddenly tightening his grip, then leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Are you in a hurry for tonight's party?"
This is a very unrelated question.
Ke Qi was puzzled, but honestly replied, "It's okay, not in a hurry."
She just had a habit of preparing things a little in advance so that she wouldn't be too flustered at the last minute.
"That's good."
His voice was tinged with a bright smile, and the moment he finished speaking, he suddenly picked her up and walked towards the bed.
Ke Qi was stunned.
After realizing what was happening, her eyes widened slightly. "Gu Zhao, you..."
Before he could finish speaking, he had already placed her between the mattresses, his strong body pressing down on her domineeringly.
"what to do?"
His deep gaze was fixed on her, like a wild beast on the hunt, seemingly calm, but ready to devour her at any moment.
"It seems like I really do have a fever."
He took her soft, white hand and pressed it against his cheek, giving her a slightly roguish smile: "Miss Keqi, can you help me get rid of this fever?"
An unspeakable tactile sensation emanates from an unspeakable place.
Ke Qi was burned, her body trembled slightly, her cheeks flushed red, and she pretended to be stupid, saying, "Then, I... I'll buy you some medicine?"
Upon hearing this, he chuckled softly, as if he had heard something amusing.
"It's not needed."
He smiled and traced her beautiful face with his fingertips until he reached her delicate chin, gently pinching it and forcing her lips to open slightly.
"It already exists."
After saying that, he leaned down and sealed her parted, soft lips with his.
