35. Gently coax

35. Gently coax

After adjusting her mindset, the next second, with his command, Ke Qi shot out like a little rocket.

Fifty meters, one hundred meters, two hundred meters...

The first lap is completed when you reach 400 meters.

At this moment, Ke Qi felt her throat starting to feel hot and dry.

Gu Zhao's encouraging voice came from behind at just the right time: "Keep going, adjust your breathing, hang in there."

Keqi immediately perked up and charged forward with renewed vigor.

Unfortunately, she wasn't cut out for sports, and even with her best efforts, she was still at the bottom of the class.

When she had run the full 800 meters, her entire cerebral cortex and limbs were so numb that she lost all feeling and collapsed onto the grass, seeing stars.

Seeing this, Gu Zhao took charge of recording the results with a stopwatch while reminding everyone: "Everyone should walk around a bit after running. Don't sit or lie on the ground, or you might experience orthostatic hypotension."

Unfortunately, no matter how beautiful a male god's voice or how handsome his face is, no one is in the mood to appreciate it at this moment.

Everyone was exhausted.

Keqi ignored his words and lay on the lawn without moving.

Chen Youting and Yu Sheng listened to her advice and, despite their exhaustion, went to help her.

"Qiqi, Gu Zhao is right. It's really easy to suffocate and go into shock after running like that. Get up and walk around."

Ke Qi shook her head, struggling to say even one more word: "No, I'm tired."

While she was lying in the morgue, Gu Zhao finished timing the last two people not long after, then walked straight over, bent down and lifted her up from the lawn.

"Sweetie, get up and walk around."

He whispered gently in her ear, "I'll support you."

"No," Ke Qi said weakly, her vision blurring. "My legs are so weak."

But Gu Zhao didn't agree. Instead, he supported her in front of him, like teaching a child to walk, taking one step at a time and coaxing her to walk for a few minutes.

Only after everyone had rested enough did he finally put her limp back on the lawn, chuckling, "Alright, you can lie down now."

After saying that, he walked over and picked up the stopwatch and roster next to him.

"Now we'll start scoring. Students whose rankings are called, come forward and state your names."

As she spoke, her gentle demeanor vanished completely, and she reverted to a businesslike manner.

"He's even more like a teacher than our PE teacher," Chen Youting couldn't help but complain from the side.

Yu Sheng chimed in, "Maybe he'll actually become a teacher someday?"

"Don't forget that although he is about the same age as us, he is pursuing his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in one year. He will probably graduate with his doctorate in another four or five years."

"If he chooses to work in the education industry, with his resume and sharp mind, he could choose any university in China."

"Yes."

Chen Youting joked, "If we want to take the postgraduate entrance exam, maybe he'll even teach us, haha."

The two of them talked more and more convincingly, and for a moment, it gave people the feeling that Gu Zhao might really become a teacher in the future.

But Keqi knew that it was highly unlikely.

In the future, he may become an even better professional race car driver, or he may become a successful entrepreneur, a scientific research leader, or something else entirely.

But none of these options are likely to be the teaching profession.

Gu Zhao's personality doesn't seem like that of someone who would be a teacher.

He was so free and willful that he didn't even bother to inherit such a large family business, leaving it all to his brother.

How could the confines of the school campus possibly hold him back?

Essentially, Keqi feels that she and he are quite similar.

After graduation, I didn't want to work at my father's company. I just wanted to travel the world freely, sketching and painting whatever I liked.

If they can really stay together in the future, will Gu Zhao stay with her?

Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice that Gu Zhao had already registered the results and was walking towards her.

"get out of class is over."

He lowered his eyes, smiling at Ke Qi, whose little face was still flushed, and gently pinched the tip of her nose. "Great job, you passed! How about I reward you with a big meal?"

Ke Qi blinked, instantly snapping back to reality.

Is he serious?

If I remember correctly, she was third from last, right?

Is this what you call awesome?

They actually want to reward her with a big meal?

"Gu Zhao, you have such a sweet tongue."

But thinking of the grievances she felt yesterday, she tilted her head and said stubbornly, "But you must be very busy today, so you should go back soon."

"No, we're already here. You're tired from running, so you can have him carry you, baby."

Chen Youting, who was standing next to her, noticed the awkward atmosphere between the two of them. She leaned closer and handed her the glucose in her hand, smiling as she said, "Here, your boyfriend's lovingly prepared glucose water. Drink it quickly."

"As for me and Sheng Sheng, we don't have the energy to take care of you. We're going to eat now. Bye-bye."

After saying that, the two left.

Ke Qi watched the two figures leave in disbelief.

No, they just left her like that?

That's so disloyal.

Didn't you see her frantic blinking hints?

Or perhaps, they were bribed by Gu Zhao?

She bit down on the straw in frustration, growing more and more depressed.

Looking at the handsome young man in front of her, she couldn't help but say, "No need, I'll rest here for a while. You can go back first."

"Are you still angry?"

Seeing her sullen little expression, Gu Zhao chuckled and reached out to poke her slightly puffed-up, fair cheeks, which resembled those of a pufferfish.

"Who told you to be so impatient and use drugs on me yesterday?"

He teased her, using the excuse she'd given him yesterday: "As a man full of vigor, it's understandable that I'd have a reaction after being treated like that by my girlfriend..."

Before she could finish speaking, Ke Qi quickly shoved the straw from her mouth into his mouth and nervously looked around.

After making sure no one had heard, she said fiercely, "Don't mention this again!"

The attempt to provoke her backfired, and she almost got herself into a media storm.

Koki is probably the most useless one among the succubi.

Fortunately, he didn't suspect her lame excuse, otherwise she wouldn't know how to explain it to him now.

"Okay, I won't say."

Gu Zhao took a small sip of the glucose she had put in his mouth and grinned mischievously, "It's sweet."

After saying that, he leaned in and kissed her slightly pouting lips in a classic French kiss.

Thus, the sweet taste was conveyed.

After a long, long time, he reluctantly let go of her, then stretched out his fingertip and rubbed it against her slightly swollen lips.

"How have you thought about what we discussed last time?"

Ke Qi was so dizzy from the kiss that she forgot her annoyance for a moment, licked her lips and said, "What?"

"Come home with me to meet my elders."

His dark eyes were fixed on her, still smiling, but with less of his roguishness and more of a seriousness.

"After all, when getting married, you have to meet the elders first, right?"

Upon hearing this, Ke Qi was stunned.

What did he mean by that?

Could it be...?

"how."

Seeing that she remained silent, he leaned closer. His long, beautiful peach blossom eyes still held a smile, but there was no warmth in them.

"Was someone joking when they said they wanted to marry me while they were pursuing me?"
