Finally arrived at this former home. The gate of the Jiang family's courtyard was locked, and a spider had already made its home on the gate.
Zhang Xiaoqin pulled away the annoying spider webs, took out the key she had hidden away, and opened the gate.
The yard was overgrown with weeds, and there were no sounds of pigs squealing, chickens crowing, or dogs barking. The yard was unusually quiet.
Zhang Xiaoqin continued walking inside and opened the door to the main hall. The moment she pushed it open, she almost thought she was seeing things. The main hall was empty, with nothing in it.
She rubbed her eyes vigorously to make sure she was not dazzled, then slowly walked towards the house and began to search around frantically. She searched every room thoroughly, but found nothing but some rags and tatters, as if everything had been looted.
"What's going on? Didn't they say the Jiang family is getting rich? Why, why do they seem to be even poorer?"
While she was scratching her head and thinking hard in the house, several villagers came out of the yard pulling things on tricycles.
"Dad, why is the door wide open? I remember I locked it last time I came!"
A man in his twenties walked to the door carrying a few stools. When he was about to find the key to open the door, he found that the gate was not locked.
"Could it be a thief?"
Another old man with gray hair, carrying large and small bags, spoke tentatively.
The young man put down the stool in his hand, picked up the lock on the door and checked it.
"What kind of thieves are we talking about? This is an empty house, what's there to steal? Besides, the lock is in good condition! It hasn't been picked."
"Okay! Stop talking so much and hurry up and move the things in. Look at those dark clouds in the west. I guess it's going to rain soon. We need to pack up faster."
The old man looked at the dark clouds floating in the sky and asked his family to move their things in quickly.
Zhang Xiaoqin was puzzled and could only walk towards the yard helplessly, shaking her head and sighing as she walked.
"Oh! It seems like another wasted trip."
As soon as she went out, she happened to bump into someone moving things into the house.
"Who are you?"
"Who are you?"
Both sides looked at each other in surprise, and after a moment, everyone came to their senses.
"What are you doing?"
Looking at the group of unfamiliar faces in front of her, Zhang Xiaoqin asked first.
"We're moving! No, who are you? Why are you in our house?"
The young man put down the stool in his hand and stood in front of Zhang Xiaoqin with his hands on his hips.
"Your home? Haha...your home?"
She really didn't even think twice before telling a lie. This was clearly her home, no, that's not right, it was her ex-husband's home. When did it become someone else's home? Zhang Xiaoqin thought this was a huge joke and couldn't help laughing out loud.
She laughed so hard that she fell forward and backward, beating her chest and belly.
Everyone was even more confused by her inexplicable laughter. Everyone looked at each other with puzzled expressions.
"Bah! This is my home, and you shameless people dare to say it's yours. Get out of here, get out, get as far away as you can."
As Zhang Xiaoqin said this, she snatched the things from their hands, threw them hard onto the ground in the yard, and pushed them to get out.
"Crazy, where did you come from, you lunatic? Get out now, or I'll break your legs."
Zhang Xiaoqin's unusual behavior was mistaken by the young man as a lunatic. He grabbed Zhang Xiaoqin's arm and winked at his wife, asking her to help pull the lunatic out.
The two men held Zhang Xiaoqin and dragged her out of the yard.
"You are the lunatic, your whole family is lunatic, let me go, you damned bastards, let me go quickly, believe it or not I will kill your whole family."
Zhang Xiaoqin struggled desperately, yelled, and cursed. The more she did this, the more they thought she was crazy.
"Oh! What bad luck! It's such a good housewarming day, why do I run into such a lunatic?"
The two men threw Zhang Xiaoqin out of the yard. The young man wiped his hands on his clothes again and again and complained to his wife.
They didn't know how powerful Zhang Xiaoqin was, and they actually dared to treat her like this. Now they are in trouble.
The family had moved from an even poorer mountain valley, spending 300 yuan to settle down in the village and then buying these tiled houses from the Jiang family at a low price. So they didn't know who Zhang Xiaoqin was, nor did they know the grievances between Zhang Xiaoqin and the Jiang family.
Zhang Xiaoqin was not willing to leave like that and kept rushing into the yard, but was stopped outside the door by the two men.
Zhang Xiaoqin was so angry that she turned her attention to the furniture on the tricycle at the door. She rushed forward, picked up the things on the tricycle and started smashing them.
The family rushed over to stop her, put Zhang Xiaoqin's hands behind her back, and pressed her against the big tree at the door.
"Father, we can't drive her away like this. Find a rope and I'll tie her up and send her to the village chief. Otherwise, we won't be able to move."
The old man quickly found a rope and handed it to his son.
Zhang Xiaoqin continued to curse stubbornly, "You dare to kidnap me? Just try it, I'll make sure you don't get away with it. Bandit, robber, do you know who I am?"
"Who are you? You are the omnipotent Daluo Immortal. Is that all right? Don't move. We will send you to the South Heaven Gate."
This family really thought Zhang Xiaoqin was crazy and deliberately used crazy words to communicate with her.
Zhang Xiaoqin's hands and feet were tied to a round wooden stick, and the young man and her wife carried her to the village chief's house.
This tying method is how villagers tie pigs. They tie the pig's four legs and hang it upside down on a wooden stick for easy transportation.
