Chapter 243: The First Evil Intentions Revealed

Bai Meng looked upstairs and didn't see Qing Ke. Qing Ke had already locked himself in his room.

"No! She's fine. Isn't that what she's been doing lately? She locks herself in the room as soon as she comes back."

Bai Meng ate the watermelon while responding to Shang Xin incoherently.

"I'm a daughter myself, don't I know it myself? Go up and take a look."

Shang Xin snatched the watermelon from Bai Meng's hand, put it heavily on the coffee table, and urged Bai Meng in a stern voice to go upstairs quickly.

Bai Meng had no choice but to take two pieces of paper from the coffee table, wipe the watermelon juice from his mouth, and slowly walked upstairs.

"Keke, mom is coming in?" She knocked on the door twice and said to Qingke inside.

Qingke didn't respond. She pushed the door open on her own initiative.

Qingke wrapped herself tightly in the quilt and cried in the cup.

At this moment, she completely collapsed. For her, who had never experienced any major storms, such a thing was already a fatal blow.

Before, she was able to come out of the shadows simply because she didn't want to worry her parents. But now she knows that her father already knows everything and has been silently suffering for her. She can no longer pretend and has even completely lost confidence in life.

As soon as Bai Meng opened the door, he heard Qing Ke's sad cry.

She muttered to herself: This girl must have something wrong, she is crying so sadly.

She walked to the bed and gently pulled the quilt.

Qingke held on tightly and she couldn't pull it away.

"Keke, what's wrong with you? Why are you crying? If you have anything that makes you unhappy, tell your mother!"

Qing Ke sobbed and said, "Mom, I'm fine. I just feel sick in my stomach. I'll be fine after lying down for a while. Please go out and let me be alone for a while."

"Oh, is that so! Then I'll go downstairs first. Let your aunt bring dinner to your room?" Bai Meng is really not a competent mother. Qing Ke made up a few words and she actually believed them.

"No, I've eaten. You guys eat first!" Qing Ke was in no mood to eat anymore and hurriedly refused.

"Okay, then you go to sleep. Call me if you need anything." Bai Meng said, stood up and prepared to walk out of the house.

Qingke didn't say anything else, and she didn't ask any more questions. She walked out of the room without looking back and went downstairs with a thud.

Shang Xin was waiting at the stairs. Seeing Bai Meng coming down, he hurriedly asked, "How is it? What happened to Keke?"

Bai Meng looked impatient, rolled his eyes at Shang Xin, sat down on the sofa, and continued to eat the unfinished watermelon.

Shang Xin was anxious. He snatched the watermelon again and threw it heavily on the coffee table. "Dinner is about to be served. Can you please stop eating? Eat, eat, eat. Will you be able to eat later? I'm asking you a question. What happened to Keke?"

"How come you're such a grown man, you're so fussy? The older you get, the more you talk. Coco's fine! She said her stomach feels uncomfortable. It's normal during those days of the month. Can you please stop worrying about her?"

"Are you really okay?"

"Really? If you don't believe me, go up and ask her yourself."

"What are you doing now? Dinner is almost ready, why don't you ask her to come down and eat?"

"Go call you! She said she doesn't want to eat and is sleeping with the quilt." Bai Meng became more and more impatient. In order to stop being harassed by Shang Xin, she picked up the remote control on the coffee table, turned on the TV, and turned up the volume to the maximum.

After hearing Bai Meng's words, Shang Xin's frown did not relax. He looked upstairs and still felt a little worried.

He was just thinking about it when he was startled by Bai Meng suddenly turning up the TV volume to the maximum.

"Is there something wrong with your ears? Why are you turning the volume up so loud?"

Bai Meng pretended not to hear, staring at the TV intently and eating watermelon with relish.

Actually, it's not Bai Meng's fault for being so heartless. She has no idea what happened to Qing Ke. In addition, Qing Ke has always been cheerful and has never given her any worries since she was a child.

Shang Xin was different. Ever since Wu Meng called to provoke him, he had been secretly observing Qing Ke's every move. He was afraid that Qing Ke would become depressed and attempt suicide. If that happened, he would really have no hope of living in this world anymore.

After thinking it over again and again, he decided to go up and take a look at Qing Ke.

He glanced at Bai Meng next to him, stood up from the sofa, and walked upstairs with heavy steps and clanging sounds.

Bai Meng saw him go upstairs, so she turned down the volume of the TV. The sound effect of this TV was so good that it made her ears buzz.
