Chapter 277 Returning Home

Dong Xuan threw the bouquet in his arms into the air as he walked. The flowers in the bouquet fell to the ground and were trampled on by passers-by.

A cleaner came over and saw it, and cursed a few times, "What kind of people are these! They throw garbage everywhere."

Bai Meng and others watched Dong Xuan leave without being able to do anything.

After Dong Xuan left, Bai Meng turned around and glared at Qing Ke angrily.

"Shang Qingke, if you don't explain this matter clearly today, don't even think about setting foot in the house." Bai Meng put one hand on his waist and pointed at Qingke and Chacha with the other hand, his lips trembling as he spoke.

"Keke, just tell me! Look how angry you made your mother!" Shang Xin patted Bai Meng's chest, which was heaving with anger, and spoke kindly to Qingke.

"It's such an obvious thing, how do you want me to explain it? She - Cha Cha, is my biological daughter. You have been promoted to grandparents, you should be happy. There is no need to make such a fuss, as if someone borrowed your rice and returned you chaff, with a stern face. How can you welcome me home like this?" Qing Ke said with a relaxed look, not thinking that this was a bad thing.

After Qing Ke finished speaking, he held Cha Cha in his arms, pulled the suitcase and walked out the door.

"You, you, you..." Bai Meng was so angry that he almost passed out, gasping for breath.

Shang Xin supported Bai Meng and followed him out the door. Qing Ke recognized his own car at a glance and walked towards it with Cha Cha in his arms.

Seeing Qing Ke coming, the driver hurried forward to help load the gift boxes into the car. "Miss, you are back! The chairman and his wife missed you so much after you left. The chairman even went abroad several times to see you, but he still couldn't find you. Miss, you are the same. You didn't even leave the chairman an exact address, making it so difficult for him to find you."

"Hehe! I'm not a three-year-old child anymore. What are you looking for me for? I'm back, aren't I?" Qing Ke responded to the driver while opening the car door and carrying Cha Cha into the back seat.

Bai Meng, who followed closely, glared at Qing Ke, wanting to say something, but stopped herself. Seeing Qing Ke get into the back seat, she angrily opened the door and sat in the passenger seat.

Seeing this, Shang Xin had no choice but to sit in the back seat of the car with Qingke and Chacha.

Everyone was silent, probably because they saw the driver was there. This family disgrace shouldn't be aired publicly, and they didn't want the driver to hear it. The car suddenly fell silent. Even Cha Cha clung tightly to Qing Ke's chest, not making a sound.

The driver glanced at Bai Meng next to him, then looked at the reactions of Qing Ke and Shang Xin in the back seat through the rearview mirror, feeling a little puzzled.

What's going on? The family finally got together, but why are they all looking like this?

"Chairman, who is this girl? She's quite cute." The driver kindly wanted to break the unusual silence, but unexpectedly bumped into the edge of a knife.

"My daughter..." Qing Ke responded to the driver with a smile, but before she could finish her words, she was interrupted by Bai Meng's scolding.

"No one will think you are dumb if you don't speak. Just concentrate on driving your car. Are you bored? You are just looking at this little girl. I don't know where you, a grown man, get the curiosity from. Haven't you heard that curiosity kills the cat? Really, grown men are more fussy than women..." Bai Meng glared at the driver fiercely and cursed him.

Although the driver was confused by the sudden verbal abuse and felt aggrieved, he did not dare to say anything more. He could only shut his mouth, stare straight ahead, hold the steering wheel tightly, and do what he should do.

Qing Ke rolled his eyes at Bai Meng and said no more. He gently stroked Cha Cha in his arms, staring out the car window at his long-lost homeland.

Along the way, everyone seemed to have taken a mute drug and didn't say a word. Cha Cha also seemed to have realized something and didn't say a word the whole way.

After returning home, Bai Meng was so angry that she threw away her high heels and didn't even bother to change into slippers. She walked barefoot to the sofa and sat down heavily on it. Shang Xin followed suit and sat down on the sofa.

The nanny originally came to greet Qing Ke with a smile, but when she saw Bai Meng and Shang Xin's charcoal-like expressions, her smile stopped abruptly and she didn't dare to say anything more.

"Miss, you are finally back. Please give me your greetings and I will move you to your room. I clean your room every now and then. Nothing has been moved. It is still the same as before." The nanny said in a low voice. Seeing that Bai Meng looked unhappy, she didn't dare to speak loudly for fear of bumping into the knife.

"Thank you, Auntie!" Qing Ke responded to the nanny with a smile, bent down to open the shoe cabinet, found her slippers and put them on.

The nanny glanced at Cha Cha, who was looking at her with her big black eyes. She didn't say anything and went upstairs carrying the heavy box.

Four years later, she couldn't guarantee she'd find her slippers in the shoe cabinet. The moment she opened the cabinet, she was a bit surprised to find a brand new pair of women's slippers in her exact size. Qing Ke's nose sank at the sight; it was obvious her parents had been waiting for her return and had prepared them especially for her.

She paused for a moment, then changed out of her high heels and put on comfortable sandals. She stretched lazily and glanced towards her home, which she hadn't seen for four years.

"Mom, I don't have slippers to change into?" Cha Cha looked at the black buttoned leather shoes on her feet, pulled the hem of Qing Ke's skirt, and said to Qing Ke in an innocent tone.

Qing Ke squatted down, touched Cha Cha's chubby little face, and said with a smile: "Cha Cha, grandpa and grandma didn't know Cha Cha was coming back, so they didn't prepare slippers for her. After she settles down, mom will go buy her a pair of beautiful slippers. Don't be angry, smile."
