Chapter 278 The Child’s Father Dies

"Am I wrong? This... Hey! I won't say anymore, I won't say anymore. It gives me a headache if I talk too much. No matter what I say, I can't put this child back into Coco's stomach. It's uncomfortable. I feel so suffocated. I'm going to go upstairs and lie down for a while. I have a headache!" Bai Meng wanted to say something but stopped, rubbing his temples, and went upstairs angrily.

Shang Xin looked at the innocent Cha Cha and asked, "Cha Cha, have you really never seen your father?"

"Yeah!" Cha Cha nodded affirmatively.

Shang Xin took a deep breath, reached out to touch Cha Cha's head, and said kindly, "Okay, go to your mother!" Cha Cha nodded and ran to Qing Ke, "Ke Ke, we can talk about it later. You must be tired after such a long flight. Take the child upstairs to take a bath, change clothes, and prepare for lunch."

"Okay, thank you, Dad! Dad is always the best to me. Cha Cha, say goodbye to Grandpa. Let's go upstairs to take a shower and change clothes."

"Grandpa, see you later!"

"Yeah! Go ahead!"

Qingke took the child's hand and went upstairs with the sound of ding-dong.

Shang Xin looked at the two people's backs as they left, feeling mixed emotions.

At lunch, the family sat at the dining table. The atmosphere was extremely depressing and the living room was silent.

Cha Cha might be hungry, so she ate with relish, and Qing Ke did the same.

Only Bai Meng and Shang Xin lost their appetite after seeing the extra Cha Cha. Bai Meng took two mouthfuls of rice with his chopsticks and slammed them down, "You guys eat, I'm going upstairs first."

"Bai Meng, when did your appetite become so bad? Is it because the food is not to your liking?" Shang Xin asked without even knowing how to judge Bai Meng's expression when he saw her about to leave.

"I'm so angry that I can't eat anymore. Keke, come to my room after dinner. I have something to ask you." Bai Meng responded to Shang Xin angrily, glared at Cha Cha, and went upstairs with a clatter of noise.

"Oh!" Qing Ke responded reluctantly, biting the chopsticks in her mouth, with a hint of curiosity on her face.

You think you can get away with this? Humph! It's not that easy. I wouldn't be called Bai if I don't expose this ruthless man. I don't know where this Chen Shimei came from, but he doesn't even have the courage to stand up and take responsibility. I'll skin him alive.

Bai Meng walked and muttered to himself.

"Dad, can you tell me something? What does Mom want to tell me? It's not Cha Cha's problem again, is it?" Qing Ke asked Shang Xin with a playful smile.

"I don't know! She didn't tell me."

Qing Ke felt helpless and could only continue eating, occasionally picking up some dishes for Cha Cha.

After lunch, Qing Ke waited for the nanny to clean up the dishes. She told the nanny to help look after Cha Cha, and then she went to Bai Meng's room upstairs.

She came to the door of Bai Meng's room. The door was ajar, but she still knocked on the door. "Mom, it's Coco."

"The door is not locked. Close it after you come in."

Qing Ke didn't expect that Bai Meng had left the door open for her. She took a deep breath, pushed the door open, and closed it after entering.

Bai Meng stood in front of the window, which was wide open. A slight cool breeze blew into the room through the window, gently blowing on Bai Meng's burgundy curly hair.

"Mom, do you have anything to tell me? If you are still worried about whether Cha Cha is my biological child, then you don't have to say it. I can accompany you to the hospital for a paternity test tomorrow." Qing Ke came up and spoke bluntly to shut Bai Meng's mouth.

Bai Meng didn't say anything.

Qing Ke stood there, not knowing what to say.

After a long while, Bai Meng asked coldly, "Who is the father of the child?"

"Mom, didn't Dad ask Cha Cha? The child's father died before she was born. Don't you even believe what the child says? Children can't talk."

"Haha!" Bai Meng sneered, "Children won't lie, but adults may not."

"Mom, what do you mean by that? Do you think I'm lying to you and the child?"

"You know whether it's a lie or not." Bai Meng paused, and Qing Ke didn't respond immediately, so Bai Meng continued, "Even if I believe what you said about the child's father being dead, then even if he's dead, he should have a name! Tell me! What's his first and last name? Where are you from? What do you do? Who else is in his family?"

"Mom, the person is dead, what's the point of asking these questions?" Qing Ke felt a little guilty when Bai Meng asked this.

Bai Meng sneered again, "Haha! You still say you didn't lie to me? You don't even dare to tell me your name or where you live, and you still dare to say you didn't lie to me."
