Chapter 347 Youchen Faints

Xiao Shuangning didn't say anything and continued to eat the food in the bowl with her head down.

Seeing that Xiao Shuangning was eating seriously, Zhou Yu didn't say anything more. The two of them ate the food in their own bowls.

The ward became quiet again, so quiet that the only sounds could be heard were the sound of rain outside the window and the sounds of them chewing.

Xiao Shuangning watched the way Zhou Yu and his mother got along, and she felt even happier. After dinner, she asked curiously, "Do you and your mother usually get along like this?"

"yes!"

"Oh!" Xiao Shuangning didn't ask any more questions. She took the initiative to put away the dishes and prepared to wash them. "I'll go wash the dishes."

Zhou Yu snatched the dishes from Xiao Shuangning's hands, threw them on the cabinet, and forced her back to bed. He opened the quilt for her and signaled her to go to sleep with his eyes. "No, leave them to me. It's getting late and you have school tomorrow! Go to bed quickly."

Xiao Shuangning looked at Zhou Yu, then at the white quilt and sheets, took off her wet cloth shoes, and slowly buried herself in the quilt.

Zhou Yu picked up her cloth shoes and put them by the window. "Your shoes are soaked. It's windy here. I'll put them here to let them air dry. Maybe they'll be dry by tomorrow morning."

He put away his shoes, picked up the dishes from the cabinet, and said to Xiao Shuangning with a smile: "Ningning, go to sleep. I'll go wash the dishes and be back soon."

Xiao Shuangning looked at Zhou Yu with grateful eyes, tightly grasped the quilt covering her with both hands, and nodded slightly in response.

Seeing Xiao Shuangning suddenly become so quiet and gentle, he felt very relieved. He walked out of the ward holding his bowl and chopsticks, humming a song.

Xiao Shuangning lay on an unfamiliar bed, looking out the dark window and listening to the gradually fading sound of rain, feeling very complicated.

Zhou Yu had not walked a few steps out of the door when he ran into his mother chatting with his cousin.

Before he could even open his mouth, his mother rushed over, twisted his ear and roared, "You damned bastard, you're so ungrateful. Why didn't you ask your mother if I had eaten? You just gave the hot rice and dishes to outsiders."

"Let go, or I'll scream if you keep doing this. It's the middle of the night, if you don't want to call everyone in the hospital over, then just twist as hard as you can." Zhou Yu showed no sign of weakness.

"You..." Zhou Yu's mother pointed her finger at his nose, too angry to speak. Reluctantly, she loosened her hand that was twisting Zhou Yu's ear and sighed.

His cousin, who was standing nearby and watching over Zhou Yu's behavior, started to criticize him, "Xiao Yu, why are you always arguing with your mother? It's not easy for her to raise you alone. You should be more considerate of her."

"In this home where every day is like a battlefield, I sympathize with her, but who sympathizes with me?"

"Look, this is the good son that I, as both a father and a mother, raised. Sooner or later, I will be pissed off to death by this bastard." Zhou Yu's mother covered her chest and explained to Zhou Yu's cousin.

Zhou Yucai didn't want to listen to her nonsense here, so he stuffed the bowl in his hand into his mother's hand and said, "I'm sleepy, you guys can continue to talk nonsense, just wash the dishes. Bye! Goodbye!"

After he finished speaking, without waiting for his mother's response, he turned and waved goodbye and walked towards the ward.

No matter how angry his mother was, he ignored her and went straight back to the ward, closed the door gently, and lay back in his bed.

After tossing and turning all night, he was really tired and fell asleep quickly after lying down.

Xiao Shuangning heard the sound of his return and closed her eyes to pretend to sleep. It was precisely because of her pretending to sleep that Zhou Yu moved very carefully, for fear of waking her up.

She tossed and turned, not knowing whether it was because she was shy or for some other reason, but she just couldn't fall asleep for a long time.

Later, after an unknown amount of time, she couldn't resist Zhou Gong's call and fell asleep.

Gradually, the rain stopped and the moon quietly slipped out from the clouds, illuminating the dark night.

Little Youchen dragged his wet body to the hospital and couldn't wait to ask the nurse which ward Zhou Yu was staying in.

He ran towards Zhou Yu's ward like a wild horse that had broken free from its reins.

After being exposed to the cold wind for so long, coupled with his wet clothes, he caught a cold, but he was completely unaware of it.

His cheeks were flushed, as if he had a fever, and his head was a little dizzy. He thought he was too sleepy and had no mind to take care of his body.

The door of the ward was not locked, and he pushed it open gently. The light in the ward was on, and he immediately saw Xiao Shuangning's face, which was so familiar that it couldn't be more familiar.

Perhaps it was because Xiao Shuangning was always on guard, and when Xiao Youchen gently pushed the door open, she was suddenly awakened from her dream.

She sat up suddenly, "Brother, why are you here?"

Seeing that Xiao Shuangning was fine, his tense nerves finally relaxed, and his expression was no longer so tense. He was about to question Xiao Shuangning, asking her why she didn't go home so late, but instead slept in the same room with Zhou Yu.

"You...ah, cut, cut, cut..."

All his words turned into a series of sneezes. He suddenly felt dizzy and his vision was a little blurry.

"Brother, what's wrong with you? Do you have a cold? Why are you soaking wet? Why didn't you even use an umbrella when you came here?"

Seeing Xiao Youchen sneezing repeatedly and looking a little dazed, Xiao Shuangning quickly got out of bed. Before she could even get to Xiao Youchen, he fell to one side as if he had lost weight.

She walked up quickly, supported Xiao Youchen, and shouted his name loudly in worry.

Zhou Yu was woken up. Rubbing his bleary eyes, he asked, "Ningning, what happened?"

"Zhou Yu, come and help, my brother has fainted."

"Your brother?" Zhou Yu was a little surprised, but still quickly stepped forward to help.

The two of them struggled to help Xiao Youchen onto the bed. Xiao Shuangning was so anxious that she almost cried. She kept calling Xiao Youchen, hoping to wake him up.
