Chapter 35: Fighting the Swarm of Bees and Butterflies

Jianzhong, who had been paying attention to Shumei's every move, how could he miss such a good opportunity? He looked around and sneaked towards Shumei, wanting to take a peek at the seductive breasts that he imagined.

He tried to walk as lightly as possible, and was about to succeed when he was stopped by Boyi who came running over.

"Jianzhong, what are you doing?"

Boyi pretended to be calm, stepped forward to Jianzhong and said with a grin.

"Oh oh oh... I'm not doing anything! I have to pee urgently, I'm going to pee." Jianzhong touched the back of his head uncomfortably and replied hesitantly.

"But the toilet doesn't seem to be here? It's perfect, I need to pee too, let's go together!"

Boyi put his hand on Jianzhong's shoulder and dragged Jianzhong, who was reluctant to leave, towards the toilet.

Jianzhong couldn't refuse, so he had to go to the toilet with Boyi reluctantly. He kept cursing Boyi in his heart, "Damn bastard, you ruined my good thing. It would be better if you get sick when you go back tonight, so as not to be a nuisance here." An angry expression kept appearing on his face.

In fact, in that era, women didn't care so much about breastfeeding. As long as the child was hungry, they would lift up their clothes to feed the baby anytime and anywhere, without caring about whether it was shameful or not. In fact, this was nothing. Breastfeeding was the most sacred mission of every mother and had nothing to do with romance.

But in Boyi's heart, he just couldn't bear to see his beloved being treated like this.

After coming out of the toilet, Boyi simply stood behind the pile of bricks that Shumei was leaning against and acted as Shumei's bodyguard until Shumei fed the child.

Shumei, who came out from behind the brick pile with her child on her back, was startled by Boyi who was guarding outside. "Boyi! Why are you here? I was scared to death." Shumei kept patting her pounding chest, her face full of confusion.

"I'm tired, let me take a short break here." Boyi lied to Shumei seriously, "How are you? Are you okay?"

"It's okay, but my hands are a little hurt." Shumei spread her messy hands in front of her chest as she walked. The pain was really excruciating as her fingers were connected to her heart.

Looking at Shumei's messy hands, Boyi felt heartbroken and quickly pulled Shumei to sit aside. "You sit here and wait for me. Don't leave. I'll be back soon." After saying that, Boyi ran away in a panic.

Soon, Boyi came running back, panting, carrying a plastic bag. The hot air from his mouth formed white smoke in the cold air.

Without a word, he squatted down and cleaned Shumei's wound, then took out gauze from a plastic bag and bandaged her. After a flurry of activity, he finally bandaged all of Shumei's wounds. He then gently put on a new pair of gloves for Shumei, "Okay, it's done. From now on, wrap your fingers with gauze before going to work every day. Your fingers are delicate, not as rough as ours. Be careful when you take them out at night, and soak them in hot water before taking them out."

"Thank you! Boyi."

Looking at Boyi, who was so attentive and gentle that he could melt snow, Shumei's broken heart was filled with a ray of warm sunshine.

"Why should we be so polite?" Boyi's face was full of generosity. He packed up the remaining things and turned away contentedly.

After a hard day's work, the bell finally rang. As the sun was setting, Shumei rubbed her aching waist, cleaned off the dust, smiled, and looked at the sunset in the sky before stretching lazily.

The workers walked out of the factory together, chatting and laughing. Shumei also dragged her tired body and walked out of the factory gate.

"Shumei, you don't have a bike! Can I take you?"

As soon as I walked out of the factory gate, Jianzhong chased after me pushing his bicycle with a malicious look on his face.

Shumei shrugged the child on her back and replied with a smile, "Thank you, no thanks, I'm used to walking home."

Jianzhong refused to give in and pushed his bicycle to the middle of the road, blocking Shumei's way. He was determined not to give up. He held the bicycle with one hand and grabbed Shumei's arm with the other, "Come on! Don't be polite!"

Shumei forcibly broke free from his hand and tried to move around him, but Jianzhong was like a dog-skin plaster that she couldn't get rid of. He played a game of "Eagle Catches Chicken" with her.
