Xiao Youchen banged hard on Niu Wa's door and shouted, "Open the door, open the door quickly, or we'll find the village chief."
When he saw that Niu Wa didn't come to open the door, he just kicked it.
Niu Wa was guilty as a thief, and when he heard that the village chief was coming, he didn't dare to not open the door. He quickly found a safe place and hid the chicken he had just stolen and the chicken he had stolen before but had not had time to kill.
Feeling that everything was safe, he pretended to be sleepy and opened the door.
"What are you doing? It's the middle of the night, can't you let me sleep?"
Without saying a word, Xiao Youchen pushed Niu Wa aside and went into the house to search frantically, "Where's the chicken? Where's my chicken?"

"My sister just saw you stealing a chicken from my house."

"You're being stubborn, aren't you? Wait till I find my chickens, and then we'll see how you can still argue."
After Xiao Youchen finished speaking, he began to search through all the drawers and cabinets in Niu Wa's house.
Shumei didn't say much. The boy in front of her could be considered her old enemy. She stared at him with hatred, as if she was afraid he would run away. The atmosphere was particularly awkward and strange.
Finally, the chicken that Niu Wa hid in the pigpen was found.
He ran over to Niu Wa, holding the chicken in his hand, and triumphantly questioned him, "Did you see that? We have witnesses and evidence. How can you still argue? You stole my chicken. Come on, let's go to the village chief's house to seek justice."
Niu Wa was first incredulous, then nervous, and after a moment, he was completely justified. He snatched the chicken from Xiao Youchen's hands and said confidently, "This is my own chicken. Seeing that he was outnumbered and Niu Wa was so helpless, Xiao Youchen tugged at Shumei's arm and said, "Mom, please say something!"
Shumei was stunned for a moment and questioned Niu Wa, "You...you said you raised these chickens. Do you have any evidence? When did you buy the chicks? Where did you buy them from? We'll know once we ask."
When Xiao Youchen heard this, he also agreed, "Yes, tell me! Where did you buy it?"
"I, I, I...I...it happened so long ago, I've forgotten it a long time ago and I can't remember it."
Shumei struck while the iron was hot and asked, "Hey! Did you forget? Or did this never happen at all?"
"Anyway, I just forgot. You insist on saying that this chicken is yours. How can you prove it? Call it and see if it responds. If it agrees, I will return the chicken to you."

Shumei looked embarrassed and said angrily, "You scoundrel, you lunatic, it's our bad luck. Youchen, let's go." She pulled Youchen out of Niu Wa's house.
"Goodbye! I won't see you off." Niu Wa closed the door proudly.
Little Youchen was completely confused by Shumei's retreat. "Mom, that's clearly our chicken. Why are you just letting it go?"
"It's useless to argue with such a scoundrel. Instead of wasting time with him, we should strengthen the defense of the chicken coop. It's not too late to mend the fence after the sheep have been lost!"

The two men returned home in the dark, and the chicken-stealing incident ended in vain.
The next day, Shumei did as she said the night before and woke up Xiao Shuangning early in the morning and asked her to go to the fields to work.
Xiao Youchen had no choice but to go to school as usual.
She even called the school and asked for leave for Xiao Shuangning due to illness. She also tried to say hello to Zhou Yu.
This time, she was going to use a different method from the usual ones, to make Xiao Shuangning cry and beg her to be a good student who was studious and law-abiding.
After dealing with Xiao Shuangning's matter, she returned to her parents' home and asked the villagers for a few dogs to raise. She tied a dog in every corner of the chicken coop. This was her way of making up for the loss.
Even though it was winter, working in the fields under the scorching sun was no easy task. Furthermore, much of the grass was jagged, and Xiao Shuangning's hands were soon covered in scars.
Faced with the labor that working people should do, she felt extremely disgusted. Now she finally realized that she did not want to spend the rest of her life in this chicken coop in the fields. She wanted to live the life she wanted.
A few days later, she finally found Shumei and cried and begged her to let her go back to school. She would work hard, never make mistakes again, and repay her with excellent grades.
She knelt on the ground and kept saying nice things.
Seeing that the time was almost up, Shumei was afraid that the study would be delayed for too long and would affect Xiao Shuangning's grades, so she agreed and let Xiao Shuangning return to school.
