Chapter 40: A Friend in Need

"Hey, hey, hey! Who are you?"

After searching in vain, Boyi grabbed the man by the collar, put Shumei's photo in front of him, and roared, "Where is she? Where did you hide her?"

The man glanced at Shumei's photo, his eyes twitching involuntarily, and his eyelids drooping. "Who is this? Are you fucking crazy? Let go."

The man forcefully pulled Boyi's hand away and smoothed out his wrinkled shirt.

"Someone saw her come into your place, and you actually said you hadn't seen her. Tell me, what did you do to her?"

Shumei had clearly been here before, but the man pretended not to know her. Boyi was convinced that he must know Shumei's whereabouts, or that he was the one who made Shumei disappear. At this moment, Boyi was so excited that he even had thoughts of killing someone.

He rushed over, pushed the man down on the sofa, pressed his right arm on the man's chest, and knelt on the man's legs with his right leg, pressing him firmly on the sofa.

The other hand held up Shumei's photo, "Tell me quickly, where is she?"

"Brother, let's talk it out. I remember she came here yesterday to apply for the nanny position at my house. She even promised to come to work today, but...but she left before dark yesterday! I was wondering why she hadn't come yet!"

Boyi didn't believe his words at all, "Then why did you say you didn't know him?"

"Brother, you rushed in here with such a fierce look on your face. Even a blind person would be so confused that how could I remember so much? I've only seen her once. Didn't I recognize her after a closer look?"

In fact, there was no need for this man to be so afraid of Boyi. The basement of this room was full of their people. As long as he stomped on the floor a few times, the people in the basement would rush out and give Boyi a good beating.

Unfortunately, wasn't there some unsent goods still locked up in the basement? He didn't want to cause any complications and miss out on important matters.

Boyi had no choice but to let go of her hand. Looking at Shumei's photo, he walked out of the room in despair. The man even personally escorted Boyi out.

Where had Shumei gone? Now that she had found work, she should have returned home immediately. There wasn't anything worth stopping for between here and "Little Taiwan"! What had kept her from returning home?

Boyi was walking and thinking, and met the old lady who had just recognized Shumei at the gate of the yard.

"Kid, did you find it?"

"No, he said my sister came here to apply for a nanny position and left before dark yesterday."

"Impossible, I'm sure she didn't come out."

"Auntie, how can you be so sure?"

"Look, do you recognize this?"

The old lady told Boyi in a firm tone that Shumei definitely did not come out from inside, and took out a bunch of keys from her bosom.

Boyi took the key, on which hung a small wooden figure carved by him. He was sure that this key belonged to Shumei. He nodded vigorously to the old lady.

"That's right. Yesterday, I was knocked down by a group of children, and she was kind enough to help me up. Otherwise, if you asked me, I wouldn't have recognized her at first sight. It was only after she entered the yard that I found the key ring on the ground. I was worried that she wouldn't be able to open the door when she got home, so I waited at the door the whole time, but she didn't come out at night."

"Thank you, Auntie. It's so cold outside. Please go home quickly and don't catch a cold."

Boyi sent the kind-hearted old lady away and wondered how he could get Shumei's whereabouts from that person. He wandered back and forth outside the yard.

This bad guy's heart capacity is really not as strong as that of an ordinary person. After being frightened by Boyi, the bad guys in the room discussed and decided to move the "goods" to a new storage location.

Although the yard wasn't in the middle of a riot, there were people living in the area around it. To prevent the abducted women from screaming, they sealed their mouths with duct tape. Then, one by one, they were carried out of the basement and thrown into a truck in the yard.

Boyi, who was guarding outside the door, heard the noise in the yard. He stepped on a stone pier outside the courtyard wall and carefully stuck his head out to take a peek.

"Great! These bastards, it turns out they're all involved in the evil business of trafficking women."

There were several strong and burly men in the courtyard, and Bo Yi would not be able to gain the upper hand in a head-on confrontation. If he alarmed them, they would move the victims away, and it would be extremely difficult to find them later.
