Chapter 46: Punishing Evil and Promoting Good

After hearing what the village chief said, before the director could even speak, Shumei said, "Impossible! She clearly came here with me, how could she just disappear out of thin air? Did you, did you beat her to death?"

"Girl, please don't talk nonsense. Although we spend money to buy wives in our village, no one has ever died. Go and look for her to see if she was sold somewhere else."

"Yes! Girl, there is no reason for the village chief to lie to you. Maybe your friend has escaped like you?"

Although Shumei was unwilling to accept this, what could she do? Indeed, the women who had been sold that day had been found, so there was no reason for them to hide Qianqian.

"Let's go! Shumei, you've been missing for so long, Jizong must be worried, let's go back first!" Boyi looked at Shumei who was still reluctant to leave, pulled her arm, and persuaded her to get in the car.

Shumei looked back at the village that had left a nightmare in her heart. This time, she discovered a faint light not far from the village.

Shumei was overjoyed and quickly broke free from Boyi's hand. She excitedly asked the village chief, "Village chief, is there anyone still living there?"

The village chief looked in the direction of Shumei's finger and replied calmly, "The wizard of our village lives there."

There is actually someone here, that’s great, this is like being saved from a desperate situation, no one can understand the joy in Shumei’s heart.

"Director, shall we go over there and take a look? Maybe my friend is there!"

As long as there is a glimmer of hope, Shumei will not give up. She cannot say anything inappropriate to Xiong Qianqian. She and Xiong Qianqian can be considered friends in need.

The director didn't want to make any more trouble, but seeing Shumei's pleading eyes, he couldn't bear to refuse, so they slowly approached the wizard's residence under the guidance of the village chief.

When they arrived outside the cave, the village chief refused to go in no matter what. He said he would wait for them outside, but from his expression, it was clear that he was afraid to go in, and his eyes were full of fear.

Shumei and her group had no choice but to go into the cave alone.

The cave was horrifyingly decorated. While the entrance was labeled "Shenxian Cave," the interior was completely different from the name. The rock walls were painted with all sorts of terrifying designs, and the ground was littered with the corpses of snakes, insects, rats, and ants. It felt like entering a ghostly realm.

Just when they were halfway there, the leader seemed to have stepped on some mechanism, and arrows immediately rained down from the cave.

Although these policemen were well-trained, many were still unable to block the flying arrows and were injured. Boyi used his body to block the arrow for Shumei. Although Shumei was unharmed, Boyi was shot through the right shoulder.

"Boyi, you're injured, are you okay?" Shumei supported the injured Boyi, looked at his bleeding shoulder, and asked worriedly. The blood on Boyi's shoulder dripped onto her hand, and she was anxious and wanted to cry.

"It's okay, it's just a minor injury. I'll go out and take care of it later." Boyi's face was pale, but he smiled and replied easily.

"Wow, it's even equipped with a mechanism! This is the most exciting mission I've ever had as a police officer. I want to go in and see what kind of Daluo Immortal this is."

The policemen began to have fun with the wizard.

The team continued to advance, approaching the cave, and another swarm of venomous snakes swarmed out. Most of the policemen had never fired their guns before, and they never expected that the first time they fired would be to kill a snake.

Shumei supported Boyi and walked behind them, waiting for them to use the guns in their hands to clear out the swarm of poisonous snakes.

When the wizard heard the gunshots, he felt something was wrong, so he quickly dropped his work and fled in panic through the back door of the cave.

After the police cleared away the snakes, they walked two steps forward and arrived at the center of the cave. It was extremely spacious and seemed to be where the wizard lived.

There was a small cave next to it, but she couldn't find Qianqian after searching outside. Shumei ran into the cave and saw Qianqian tied to a stone bed.

She was wrapped in a piece of cloth with strange spells drawn on it, a fat scorpion was gnawing at her thigh, and the ground was covered with skulls and skeletons of human beings.

Shumei rushed to the stone bed and untied the ropes tied to Qianqian's hands and feet. Qianqian's face was pale, her lips purple. Seeing Shumei coming, she struggled to raise the corners of her mouth and smiled at Shumei. It was obvious that she no longer had the strength to speak. Then tears rolled down her cheeks like pearls from a broken string.

"Qianqian, don't be afraid, I'm here to save you."

When Shumei saw Qianqian being tortured beyond recognition, the most vulnerable part of her heart was touched again, and her tone was filled with tears.

The police and Boyi followed closely behind and entered the small cave.

Looking at the skulls scattered all over the floor, the director's expression was solemn. "This beast, I'll issue a wanted order when I get back. This is a nationwide wanted wizard."

Shumei hugged Qianqian and they cried in each other's arms.

The kind policeman took off his coat and wrapped it around Qianqian. He carried her out of the cave and rushed back to town overnight. Qianqian was taken to the town hospital, where Boyi also received treatment.

This experience of being sold was an unforgettable one for Shumei. Although she nearly lost her life there, she was fortunate to have escaped unscathed. Even more unforgettable was that she not only saved the women who had been deprived of their freedom, but also helped eliminate a deranged sorcerer, allowing those who had died of resentment to rest in peace.

Of course, Boyi also contributed greatly to all these achievements, and Shumei will always remember Boyi's deep friendship.

Qianqian and Boyi's injuries delayed their return home. The local police, recognizing their meritorious service, fully covered their hospitalization expenses.
