Chapter 50 Opening a Barber Shop

Xiong Qianqian stopped and took out some money from her pocket and handed it to Shumei, "Sister, here, take it for emergency."

"No, no, no, you need money to open a shop! I can't help you, so how can I hold you back?"

"Here! I heard everything you said to your mother-in-law last night. Fill your stomach first. If you don't give them anything to eat, they'll quarrel with you again when you get home."

"Kekeke...your shop?"

"Don't worry, I've thought about it, this is extra."

After hearing what Xiong Qianqian said, Shumei put the money in her pocket. She was just worrying about where to eat tonight, and Xiong Qianqian came to help her in her time of need. She was so grateful that she couldn't express it in words.

The two chatted as they walked and soon arrived at the store entrance.

Xiong Qianqian leaned against her bicycle and pushed the wooden door open with difficulty.

The door of the shop was an old-fashioned wooden door about two meters high, which was particularly heavy. Shumei was afraid that Qianqian couldn't push it by herself, so she came forward to help her.

After the door opened, they both walked into the store. The store was empty, with nothing in it. Although it was not big, it seemed particularly spacious because there was nothing in it.

There are two small rooms at the back of the shop. Xiong Qianqian told Shumei about her arrangement with a sense of accomplishment.

She had never felt so at ease. All her previous days seemed to have been wasted. From now on, she could live a serious life, her heart filled with beautiful visions of the future.

"Shumei, come here. Look, there are two small rooms here. I plan to use this one to put two dual-purpose beds for shampooing and massage, and the other one will be used as a bedroom. I will finally have a little nest of my own."

Shumei followed Qianqian and listened to her story carefully.

Qianqian, who had just been smiling happily, suddenly had a look of worry on her face. "It's just that it will take some effort to buy things. I'm a little overwhelmed to go alone."

"Is everything heavy?"

“It’s a bit strenuous.”

Shumei thought for a moment and said, "How about this! I'll ask Boyi to go with you. You can't do physical work without a man's help."

"Really? That's great! My store can open in a few days."

Hearing that Shumei was actually willing to let Boyi help, Qianqian jumped up excitedly.

The next day, Xiong Qianqian moved out of Shumei's house and into the shop. She repeatedly tried to persuade Shumei to move in with her, but she refused. She knew that if she moved out so hastily, Wu Ju might cause trouble.

With the help of Boyi and Shumei, Xiong Qianqian's store opened quickly.

On the opening day, Qianqian bought a string of firecrackers to set off for good luck and a successful start.

Shumei came with her child on her back to show her support, and Boyi also brought people from the village to show his support. When Zhang Xiaoqin heard about this, she also rushed to the town to join in the fun.

"Thank you all for coming. Qianqian's Barber Shop is opening today. Haircuts are all half-price. Don't worry, these are all inherited skills from my ancestors. I guarantee that everyone will be satisfied. If you need any help, please come in."

After a burst of crackling firecrackers, Xiong Qianqian stood at the door and thanked the villagers who came to support her. After that, she led the villagers into her shop.

A wooden board hangs at the entrance of the shop, inscribed with "Qianqian Barber Shop." Two brand-new haircutting chairs stand to the left of the entrance. A mirror, half the size of the wall, hangs on the wall in front of the chairs. Beneath the mirrors are two wooden shelves, upon which are placed combs, clippers, scissors, and so on.

There was a half-new and half-old bamboo sofa on the right side of the shop, and some onlookers had already sat on it.

On the wall opposite the door, there is a wooden cabinet with boxes of various shapes on it. Those should be ointments for dyeing hair.

Everyone looked around at the small shop. Xiong Qianqian's shop was designed in the style of a county town, making it particularly avant-garde compared to the barbershops in town. Many people had curious expressions on their faces. There were many people watching the excitement, but no one was willing to sit down and let Qianqian cut their hair.

Perhaps they had never seen a barbershop run by a woman before, so they weren't quite sure about her. Everyone was talking and pointing, genuinely just there to join in the fun.

Xiong Qianqian stood with her back against the mirror, holding a cloth in her hand, looking at everyone with eager eyes, hoping that someone would take the initiative to sit on the chair in front of her.

She suddenly felt that she had overestimated herself. Many things are easy to say but not as easy to do as imagined.
