Chapter 90: Grain Collection and Sale

"Sister Shumei, Brother Boyi is here, please come out! Stop busying yourself, let me take care of all those things!"

Qianqian has truly recovered and is full of life. I hope life will be kind to her and allow her to live happily ever after. Seeing the lively and cheerful Qianqian return, Boyi silently prays for her in his heart.

Hearing Qianqian's cry, Shumei hurried out of the store to see Boyi.

"You guys chat, I'm going to go in and get busy."

Now that the real owner was here, Qianqian had no reason to stay here and act like a light bulb, so she went back to the store obediently.

"Bo Yi, didn't you go find something to do? How come you have time to come here?"

"I have an idea and I want to come over and discuss it with you."

"What's going on? You're so mysterious."

"I don't want to go out and look for work anymore. I want to start my own business, buying and selling grain."

Boyi went straight to the point and told Shumei his idea, and Shumei of course agreed with both hands.

Seeing Shumei's support, Boyi became even more determined to start a business. His only worry now was money. Boyi considered Shumei his significant other, so of course he would share this only worry with her.

Shumei naturally didn't have much spare money, and Boyi, let alone him, was completely broke and couldn't even afford a cent. On second thought, he wondered if he was being too whimsical.

The two chatted for a long time under the banyan tree at the door, and they began to worry about money.

The two were silent for a long time. Boyi could only sigh and say his expedient plan, "Forget it, it seems that I can't achieve success overnight. I'll find a job first and start a business after saving some money."

"This is the only way, Boyi, I'm sorry, every time I have something to do, you always help me, but this time you have something to do, I can't help you at all."

Boyi smoothed the hair around Shumei's ears and said with a relaxed look, "Silly girl, you have nothing to blame yourself for. How can I, a grown man, rely on you for everything? Besides, why should we be so clear about the difference between you and me? Helping you is my responsibility. Okay! I'll go first. While it's still early, I'll go see if I can find something to do."

Shumei watched Boyi walk away before reluctantly returning to the store.

Qianqian, standing behind the store door, heard every word they said. She finally softened her heart and saw Boyi in trouble, and she couldn't help but help him.

She took out all her savings and handed them all to Shumei.

"Qianqian, what is this?" Shumei looked at the stack of money in her hand, not understanding what Qianqian meant, and looked at Qianqian with a puzzled look.

"Give it to Brother Boyi as capital! Don't say it was given by me, just say it was the profit of the store this month."

Qianqian was afraid that Boyi would be unwilling to use it after knowing it, so she specifically told Shumei not to tell Boyi that it was her who gave it to him. In order to completely cut off her relationship with Boyi, Qianqian took the initiative to change her way of addressing Boyi to "Brother Boyi" instead of "Boyi Boyi".

"This, this, this... Qianqian, you have been helping us all the time, how can I have the nerve to take this money! You also asked me to hide it from Boyi and not let him know that it was you who was helping him, so I feel even more embarrassed to take it!" Shumei looked embarrassed. She wanted to take the money but was too embarrassed to do so!

Qianqian held Shumei's hand tightly. "Sister Shumei, we are good sisters, aren't we? If I need help, you and Brother Boyi will still help me without hesitation, right? Don't think about it anymore, go chase Brother Boyi, and remember not to let anything slip. Men care about their reputation and won't accept charity. You must say that the money is your own."

Qianqian didn't wait for Shumei to argue anymore, pushed her out the door, and asked her to give the money to Boyi.

Shumei followed Qianqian's instructions and concealed the true source of the money. Even so, it took Shumei a long time to persuade Boyi to accept the money.

With Qianqian's timely help, Boyi quickly started to run his own business.

Considering the lack of capital, Boyi did not choose to rent a shop and live a hands-off life. Instead, he chose a more simple method: riding a tricycle to the countryside to collect grain from each household. This method not only saved money, but also brought greater profits than opening a shop, but it required more walking and more hardship.

He did what he said. That day, Boyi took the money given by Shumei, bought a second-hand tricycle, and started going to the countryside to collect grain.

Because he set his profit margin low and didn't use weight, the price he offered to the villagers was higher than that offered by the stores in town that purchased the grain in bulk. Moreover, he came to the villagers' homes to collect the grain, so the villagers could avoid the trouble of carrying the grain to the town for a long journey to sell it. Therefore, everyone was very willing to sell the grain to him.

However, due to limited capital and the fact that he only had one tricycle, he could only make two round trips a day. Even if Boyi worked his butt off, objective factors could not be changed, so the profit he made was relatively small.

Boyi's first venture was quite successful. Although the profit was not much, it was enough to feed himself. He hoped to save enough money quickly to build two more houses and marry Shumei in a grand ceremony.

On Shumei's side, Wu Ju, under the instigation of Zhang Xiaoqin, started to arrange a blind date for Shumei.

Wu Ju knew that Shumei would definitely object, so she took great pains to bring Shumei's biological father out.

Accompanied by Zhang Xiaoqin, Wu Ju bought some things and visited Shumei's parents' home.

"Father-in-law, what are you busy with?"

Wu Ju came uninvited and walked in without knocking. Kang Yong didn't think much of the Zhang family in the first place, and seeing Wu Ju's lack of etiquette, he was even more reluctant to look at them.

Kang Yong picked up the basin of dirty water in which he had just washed his hands and poured it towards Wu Ju and the others.
