In the ward.
Xia Qingyun leaned against the head of the bed with a casual look on his face, watching Bai Dewen take things out of the net bag one by one.
Bai Dewen took it and introduced it.
"These are the pumpkin seeds my mom just sent me. Eat a few to pass the time when you're bored."

Xia Qingyun was obviously more relaxed in front of Bai Dewen than in front of others. She just listened lazily.

Bai Dewen said: "It's not a big deal. We are all from the same hometown."
"You didn't tell them that I was in the hospital, right?" Xia Qingyun asked after taking two sips of water.
"I didn't say anything. I know you don't want to trouble them."
Xia Qingyun said, "You know I don't want to bother anyone, so why are you here? It's working hours now, and you've asked for leave again?"
Bai Dewen replied: "It won't interfere with work, I'll just take a look and then leave."

Bai Dewen's face froze for a moment, then he smiled. "I know. My mother is urging me to do that. When you and Yu Xiangyang settle down, please introduce me to two reliable people."
He said this lightly, but the smile on his face was clearly bitter.
He knew that he couldn't give Xia Qingyun what she wanted.
Xia Qingyun didn't respond, staring out the window in a daze.
Bai Dewen followed her gaze and saw a big tree with lush branches and leaves outside the window.
There is a bird's nest on a tree branch. Two birds are standing on the branches outside the nest, jumping around and pecking each other from time to time for fun.
Xia Qingyun said quietly, "Even birds know to find a big tree to build their nests, let alone humans."
Bai Dewen's smile remained unchanged as he said calmly, "I understand everything."
Yu Xiangyang came in at this time.
As soon as I entered the room, I saw Xia Qingyun and Bai Dewen, one leaning against the head of the bed and the other standing by the bed. Both of them had a hint of sadness on their faces as they looked out the window.

She opened the lunch box and saw the pork stewed till soft, mixed with shredded yellow sauerkraut. It was the sauerkraut stewed pork that she was familiar with but hadn't eaten for a long time.
The sour aroma that she had missed for a long time lingered in her nostrils, and her taste buds secreted saliva uncontrollably.
After just a moment's hesitation, she dumped the contents of the lunch box into the trash can without any reluctance.
Then he walked into the ward, closed the lunch box lid and put it back in its place.
Yu Xiangyang came in with a basin of water, poured some hot water from the thermos, then soaked the towel in water, wrung it dry, and handed it to Xia Qingyun.
Xia Qingyun wiped her face and hands, and the two began to eat.
