Chapter 410: Being a Guest

Wen Qin was stunned for a moment when she heard this, then smiled brightly, "Okay! When do you want to invite them over for dinner?"

Wen Qiuning said, "I'll make an appointment with them first and tell you when it's settled."

Wen Qin nodded repeatedly, "Okay! Okay!"

Wen Qiuning has been cold-tempered since childhood and has never had any friends around her. This is the first time in so many years that Wen Qin heard that her daughter has made friends.

Wen Qin was so happy that she thought to herself that she must treat her friends well.

Wen Qin added, "How many friends are coming? I only have four stools at home. I have to buy a few more."

Wen Qiuning replied, "I guess there are four adults and three children. Let's buy a few stools. We don't have room for more stools at home."

Wen Qin nodded again, "Okay, just make an appointment."

Before going to bed, Wen Qiuning brought the stove into the bedroom to keep warm, and filled two hot water bottles and covered himself with the quilt.

The 1.5-meter bed was a bit crowded with two people sleeping, each covered with a quilt, but the mother and daughter felt more satisfied than ever before.

Wen Qiuning covered her eyes so that only her head was exposed. She looked at Wen Qin beside her and was reluctant to close her eyes.

Wen Qin also looked at her and said with a smile: "Go to sleep quickly, you have school tomorrow."

Wen Qiuning closed her eyes obediently, and after a moment, she suddenly opened them again, "Mom, how much money do you have on you?"

Wen Qin said, "Including the fifty you gave me last time and the money from selling the house, the total is less than two hundred."

Wen Qiuning said, "Give me forty first. I need to pay back my classmates."

Yu Xiangnian borrowed a hundred yuan from her, and there was more than sixty yuan left, so she wanted to pay it back first.

"Okay." Wen Qin said as she was about to get up, take the key and open the box.

She didn't ask Wen Qiuning why she borrowed the money, because she knew her daughter never spent money recklessly.

"Mom, let's look for it tomorrow morning. It's cold outside." Wen Qiuning pulled her clothes to prevent her from getting up. "Put the remaining money in the bank tomorrow. It's safer this way."

Wen Qin agreed, "Where is the nearest bank?"

"Let's go out together tomorrow morning. I'll take you to the bank. After you deposit your money, you can walk around and get familiar with it."

Wen Qin has received an education and can write and do math, so saving money is no problem for her.

"By the way, you don't have to cook my dinner. I eat in the school cafeteria. I don't go home until nine o'clock every night after get off work. Even though you eat alone, you still have to eat well. Don't mess around. Your health is the most important thing."

Wen Qin complained sweetly, "You kid, you're really educating me!"

Wen Qiuning said, "Then don't make me worry."

The next day, Wen Qiuning returned the money to Yu Xiangnian, and the two agreed to go to Wen Qiuning's house for dinner on Sunday afternoon.

Saturday came quickly.

After hearing Yu Xiangnian say that they would go to Wen Qiuning's house for dinner tomorrow afternoon, Yu Xiangyang did not go out tonight.

It's so cold today, it's better to stay in bed and read a book, so that Cheng Jingmo won't always suspect that she likes Wen Qiuning.

In the bookstore, Wen Qiuning's colleagues were a little surprised, "Wen Qiuning, that boy didn't come to see you today?"

I usually come early on Saturdays, but now the store is about to close and there is no one there. I can't help but feel surprised.

Wen Qiuning didn't know how to answer this question. She looked at the deserted street outside and thought to herself: Don't come on such a cold day.

On Sunday afternoon, Yu Xiangnian prepared several kilograms of apples, four cans of food, and two kilograms of pastries, and asked them to set off.

Yu Xiangyang doesn't get involved in buying things, mainly because he doesn't have the money.

He wanted to save some money, but there were always things that prevented him from doing so.

I have been in college for more than a year, but I still haven’t saved up twenty dollars.

Cheng Jingmo carried Keke on his back and Yu Xiangnian in his car, with something hanging on the bicycle harness. Yu Xiangyang was the same as Cheng Jingmo, except that there was one less person on the back seat. Lin also carried Xiaojie, and the whole family came to Wen Qiuning's house.

It is now cooking time. From about 10 to 20 meters away from the tube building, you can smell the aroma of various dishes.

The already narrow aisle was so crowded that only one person could pass through because every household was cooking by the side of the aisle.

Yu Xiangyang led the way in front and everyone followed him.

Before reaching Wen Qiuning's house, Yu Xiangyang saw Wen Qiuning cooking.

She held the pot handle in her left hand and kept stirring with the spatula in her right hand. The smoke from cooking made her facial features hazy.

An An, who was on her back, also saw her. She patted Yu Xiangyang's shoulder excitedly, "Auntie!"

Wen Qiuning turned around and saw that it was them. She smiled slightly and said, "You're here. Come in and sit for a while."

Yu Xiangyang didn't go into the house. Instead, he walked to the stove and looked into the pot. "What's cooking?"

“Chives.”

Yu Xiangyang only tasted leek greens after coming to Beijing. Even in winter in the south of the city, leeks still grow green and lush.

He has eaten leeks many times, but he always feels that they are not as delicious as leeks.

"It smells nice," he said.

Wen Qiuning scooped the fried leeks into the plate. Before she could reach out to take the plate, Yu Xiangyang had already brought the plate in.

Wen Qiuning was stunned for a moment, but ignored it and started to cook the last dish, stir-fried zucchini.

Cheng Jingmo and the others entered the house first and saw a woman with gray hair. Everyone called out in unison, "Auntie."

"You're here. I'm Wen Qiuning's mother." The woman said with a smile, "Please sit down."

Wen Qiuning's mouth and face shape are very similar to Wen Qin's, both have oval faces and thin lips, but their eyes are different.

Wen Qin's eyes are double and big, while Wen Qiuning's are not as big or double, and the corners of her eyes are slightly upturned, like a fox's eyes.

The most important thing is that Wen Qin's eyes are warm.
