Chapter 449 He

Wen Qin was born in a happy family. Her father attached great importance to education. He sent her to a private school when she was young, and let her continue her schooling after liberation. At the age of sixteen, Wen Qin went to work in a local knitting factory.

Less than a year after I started working there, one day, city leaders came to visit the knitting factory.

Wen Qin is well-educated and good-looking. She and several other female workers of similar age were arranged by the factory leaders to receive leaders from the city who came to visit.

It was on this day that Wen Qin met Wen Qiuning's father.

Wen Qin said that he was tall and handsome, especially his eyes, which were upturned and extremely charming. He was the youngest and most handsome leader she had ever seen.

That day he was wearing a gray Mao suit, carrying a briefcase in his hand, standing straight, listening attentively to them explaining the work of the knitting factory with a focused expression.

When he encountered something he didn't understand, he would lower his head and lean close to Wen Qin's ear and ask her in a low voice. His standard Mandarin and magnetic voice captured Wen Qin's heart.

Not only that, he is also gentle and polite to others.

That day, Wen Qin accompanied them on a long walk and visited many factories. She was so tired that she was sweating.

When the leaders were talking and no one was paying attention, he secretly handed her his handkerchief, asked her to wipe the sweat off her face, and said thank you for your hard work.

After the visit, the leaders went to have dinner together, and Wen Qin and the others were also preparing to leave.

At this moment, he suddenly ran out of the restaurant and caught up with Wen Qin, handing her a package wrapped in oil paper.

He said, "You must be hungry too, eat something first."

After handing the things to Wen Qin, he turned around and went back to the restaurant.

Wen Qin opened it and found several golden fried pancakes inside, which were sweet and fragrant.

The female workers in the same industry started to make a fuss, saying that he had taken a fancy to her. Wen Qin looked at the tall figure with a shy face.

After that day, the two never met again.

Wen Qin would think of him from time to time, but he was a leader in the city, and Wen Qin felt that he had no intentions towards her in any way, he was just concerned about his subordinates.

Wen Qin still had his handkerchief in her hand, and she could only look at the handkerchief to comfort her longing for him.

She was so homesick that one day half a month later, Wen Qin ran outside the city government as if possessed by a ghost, wanting to secretly take a few glances at him.

He was so outstanding in appearance that Wen Qin recognized him from a distance.

Wen Qin hid in the corner and watched him secretly. The closer he got, the faster Wen Qin's heart beat.

Worried that he would see her, Wen Qin shrank back into the corner of the wall at about the right time. Several minutes later, when she stuck her head out to look at him again, he had disappeared.

Just as Wen Qin was feeling disappointed and stretched his neck to look around, a magnetic voice suddenly sounded behind him, "Are you looking for me?"

Wen Qin's body froze, but her heart was about to jump out of her body.

He walked up to Wen Qin and said with a half-smile, "Hide here, be careful not to be caught as a bad guy."

Wen Qin didn't dare to look at him. She twisted the corners of her clothes with her hands nervously, not knowing how to explain her presence here.

He came to her rescue, "Are you here to return my handkerchief?"

Wen Qin's face flushed red and he nodded rapidly.

The man stretched out his hand. His palm was very white, with crisscrossed lines. There was a callus on the tip of his middle finger, which was caused by years of writing.

Wen Qin hurriedly took out a handkerchief from her pocket and put it in his hand.

I don’t know if it was because I was too nervous or what, but my palm scratched his fingers and a tingling sensation spread throughout my body.

He still held out his hand, the handkerchief still in his palm, and said with a smile, "Do I want a handkerchief?"

"Huh?" Wen Qin looked at him blankly.

He smiled gently, "I'll take you to dinner."

He added, "You must not have eaten at this hour. Let's go."

He put the handkerchief into his pocket and took a step forward. Wen Qin followed him in a daze, feeling extremely excited.

He took her to the state-owned restaurant. Standing in front of the blackboard with today's menu, he looked back at her and asked, "Are there any dietary restrictions?"

Wen Qin shook her head.

He said, “Then I’ll just order whatever I want.”

After they sat down, he poured her some water.

How could she get her leader to pour her some water?

Wen Qin was frightened and quickly stood up to pour him some.

When the two were struggling for the kettle, the water spilled and soaked Wen Qin's pants.

He took out his handkerchief again and said, "Wipe it quickly."

Wen Qin wiped the water off his trouser legs shyly. He joked, "I have to lend you this handkerchief again."

Wen Qin felt even more embarrassed holding the half-wet handkerchief.

"Hurry up and sit down." He said with a smile, "Don't treat me as your boss in private. Relax."

The food was served, and he ordered three dishes and one soup, two meat dishes and one vegetable dish.

It doesn't make people feel it's a waste, and makes Wen Qin feel valued.

He ate the chili peppers, which were so spicy that he gasped for air. He said, "The flavors here are a bit strong. I'm not used to them yet."

Wen Qin asked curiously, "Where are you from?"

Wen Qin then realized that he was from another province, was twenty-four years old, and was assigned to this city for training.

Wen Qin thought that since he became a city leader at such a young age, he must be very capable.

During the meal, he mentioned a few words about the loneliness of being away from home and family and the difficulty of working hard alone.

Wen Qin was not very good at speaking, so she offered a few words of comfort in a neutral tone.

He suggested with a smile, "How about we be friends?"

He said that the people he interacted with were all in the government, and everyone was competing with each other, so it was difficult to open up to each other.

He became friends with her, not talking about work, but chatting about daily fun things, and occasionally having a meal together to pass the free time.

Wen Qin was naturally what he wanted.

The meal ended in such an exciting and harmonious atmosphere.

After dinner, he offered to take her home, but Wen Qin refused.

"I really don't feel comfortable letting a girl go home alone," he said, "especially a pretty girl."

Wen Qin's heart was about to jump out of her chest. She blushed and repeatedly assured him that everything was fine before he let her go.

On the way home, Wen Qin thought, he is simply perfect.

Handsome, gentle, polite, cultured, considerate... He has all the advantages.

For the next few days, Wen Qin was so excited that she couldn't sleep.

That day, she ran to the outside of the city government again to peek. She watched people coming out one by one, but she didn't see him. It was almost dark, and she still didn't see him. She returned home disappointed.

She didn't see him for three consecutive days.

She was afraid and worried, wondering if he had gone back.

Just when she was about to return home disappointed again today, she saw him walking out of the building.

Wen Qin happily went to meet him. He saw that Wen Qin looked very surprised and asked, "Why are you still here so late?"

Wen Qin hesitated.

Couldn't he see that she was coming for him?!

He said: "I went on an inspection trip in other places these days and just came back today. I have a lot of things to do and I have to go back to the dormitory to work overtime."

Wen Qin felt disappointed but also happy.

I was happy to see him and know that he hadn't left.

"Then you go back and get busy. I'm leaving." Wen Qin said.

But he called her.
