Lin Ye turned around and saw a man about her age wearing a hospital gown next to her.
This man seemed familiar. Lin thought about it for two seconds and soon remembered that this was her college classmate Yang Tangxin.
Lin also said happily: "Yang Tangxin!"
Yang Tangxin was also happy, "I didn't expect to run into you in the hospital!"
Lin also asked: "What's wrong with you?"
"I have gallstones. I had surgery two days ago." Yang Tangxin said sincerely, "The news that you found oil in Nigeria has spread all over our class. Lin Ye, you are amazing!"
Lin Ye scratched his head with both pride and shyness, "Really? I haven't contacted any of my classmates since graduation. Is everyone doing well?"
"Everyone is doing well. Some of you have already started families," Yang Tangxin said. "Everyone knows that you went abroad to study. Now that you're back, why don't we get together sometime?"
"Okay!" Lin nodded repeatedly.
The two chatted in the corridor outside the nurses' station for more than ten minutes.
Lin Ye suddenly remembered the time, "Oh no! I have to go!"
She left as soon as she said she would, and immediately turned around and ran towards the stairs. When she got there, she stopped and waved to Yang Tangxin, "I'll see you tomorrow. Goodbye!"
She planned to visit Yang Tangxin at work tomorrow and see Dr. Meng at the same time.

This way, her father wouldn't know she came to see Dr. Meng, and her sister-in-law wouldn't have to help cover for her.
Lin Ye pedaled his bicycle so hard that the pedals were almost smoking, but he could only go so fast.
When she hurried to the gate of the compound, Yu Xiangnian was already waiting there.
Lin Ye is always a very punctual person, but he was late today.

Yu Xiangnian didn't mean to make a fuss. "I understand you lost track of time while chatting with Dr. Meng."

She shared her thoughts.
Yu Xiangnian laughed, "You've become so smart just to fall in love!"
Lin Ye: “...” It sounds like he is praising her, but it also seems like he is not praising her.
Yu Xiangnian asked again: "Did Dr. Meng ever tell you about his past with Dad?"
Lin was also puzzled, "What's going on between him and Dad?"
"Whatever it is, think about it carefully."
Lin also thought for a while, "It seems not. Usually when I mention Dad, he always says that Dad is excellent and amazing."

When the two returned home, Song Huaiqian was busy in the study, and Lin Yunyi and the two children were washing up. Neither of them asked where they had been.

It was not appropriate to go to the hospital so early in the morning, so she stayed in the office until after ten o'clock.
She bought two cans of food and a bag of fruit and went to the hospital. She first went to the doctor's office, but didn't see Dr. Meng.
She went to the ward to visit Yang Tangxin again, talked with him for half an hour, and then left.
She came to the doctor's office again, but still didn't see Dr. Meng.
She asked a doctor, and the doctor said that he had seen Dr. Meng in the morning and didn't know where he was now.
Lin was waiting in the corridor.
After waiting for more than half an hour, I finally saw Dr. Meng in a white coat surrounded by several other doctors in white coats.
Doctor Meng turned his head slightly and said something to a man older than him next to him, gesturing with his hands as he spoke.
His eyes were deep and his expression was serious. Lin had never seen him like this before.
When Dr. Meng was with her, he always had a gentle smile on his face. Most of the time, he was not serious and liked to tell jokes.
This reminded Lin of when she was at the base. She often saw Song Huaiqian looking so serious and focused, either studying design drawings or discussing problems with colleagues.
Dr. Meng was very focused on his speech and didn't even look at Lin Ye.
Lin Ye saw that he was talking about serious matters, so he didn't call him.
Dr. Meng and his men passed by her. When they were three steps away, he suddenly stopped.
He looked back and said, "Lin Ye?"
Then he said, "Wait for me."
He took the doctors into the office again.
Lin also waited in the corridor for more than ten minutes, and Dr. Meng finally came out, having taken off his white coat.
"Let's go," he said.
"Where are you going?"
"Have a meal."
Only then did Lin realize that it was already lunch time.
Meng Yiming said as he walked, "I'm a little busy today, so let's just have something to eat in the cafeteria."
"Hmm." Lin Ye paused and asked, "Have you eaten the steamed dumplings I bought for you?"
"Steamed dumplings?" Dr. Meng asked. "When did you buy them?"
"Last night. After dinner yesterday, I came to the hospital to look for you. The nurse said you had surgery. I thought you hadn't eaten dinner, so I bought some steamed dumplings and asked the nurse to give them to you."
"Oh, the surgery was over in the early morning yesterday. The nurse might have been busy and forgot about it."
Then, Meng Yiming laughed, "Yezi, you finally know how to care about me."
Lin Ye's ears felt hot, "I...bought it by the way."
"I know." Meng Yiming said, "You were riding a bicycle to work out your food last night and passed by the hospital, right?"
