Yan Ning's voice was soft, yet very gentle.
"I'm also afraid of the dark, afraid of being left behind."
She paused, not going into detail about her own experience, but instead shifted the topic back to his earlier predicament.
"But look, you're very strong now, much stronger than when you were a child. No matter how powerful those shareholders are, they still have to rely on your decisions, don't they?"
"The project is stuck, which means it's waiting for you to complete it. There's always a way to solve the money problem; you're so smart."
She turned her head and looked intently into Xie Huaiye's eyes, the firelight dancing in them:
"Don't be scared by the shadows of the past. When you were a child, you couldn't escape that dark room, but now you have the ability to push open any door that stands in your way."
"Xie Huaiye, you are no longer that child who could only wait for the thunder to stop."
Xie Huaiye was stunned.
He didn't expect Yan Ning to respond like that.
There was no empty consolation, no commercial hype.
She put his hidden fears and the pressures of reality together.
Then tell him in an almost blunt affirmation:
You are strong, you can do it.
This was more powerful than any business analysis or encouragement he had ever heard.
Xie Huaiye looked at her, the firelight flickering on her face.
Those eyes were clear and firm, as if they could see into the depths of people's hearts.
A warm current dispelled the chill and weariness in his heart.
“Yan Ning”.
He called her name softly, his voice slightly hoarse, "You..."
He wanted to say "You are special" or "Thank you".
But when the words came out, they felt somewhat unrealistic.
Yan Ning seemed to understand what he hadn't finished saying.
She smiled, looked up at the starry sky again, and her tone became more relaxed:
"It's no big deal. Look at these stars, they're so far away from us, but their light still shines on us, doesn't it?"
"Some things can't be rushed, but light will always shine through."
