Chapter 131 You're a devil in human skin, get out of here!

The room was eerily quiet.

The man on the bed, with his eyes closed, swallowed hard.

Her dry, thin lips parted slightly.

He made a low, hoarse sound:

“Yan Ning…”

There was no "older sister" this time.

It was his unique, magnetic voice.

He called her name clearly.

“Yan Ning…”

He called out softly again.

Like a dream, yet also like confirmation.

The grip on her wrist didn't loosen at all.

Instead, it tightened up even more.

He even gently rubbed his thumb against her skin.

A tingling electric current instantly coursed through my entire body!

"I miss you so much, don't go..."

He mumbled incoherently.

The sound was as light as a feather.

Yan Ning froze completely.

Her wrist was enveloped by the scalding heat of his palm.

The heat spread so intensely that it flushed her cheeks and ears.

Looking at him sleeping soundly with his eyes closed.

Hearing him call her name in a hoarse voice...

Yan Ning knew that it was him who had returned.

At least for this moment, hold onto her.

It was Xie Huaiye, the adult who made her heart race.

Yan Ning swallowed hard and asked softly:

"Xie Huaiye, is that you? You're back?"

But the next second.

His clenched hands seemed to have exhausted all their strength.

Slowly, it loosened and slid back into the blankets.

"Xie Huaiye?"

Yan Ning called out again nervously.

Xie Huaiye did not respond.

Yan Ning knew that he had left again, just like that moment on the roller coaster.

It appeared for only a moment, then it was gone.

Yan Ning returned to her room dejectedly.

Why do Xie Huaiye's memories keep flashing?

When will he finally be able to come back?

Or rather...

Why is the adult Xie Huaiye so reluctant to come back?

the next day.

The morning sunlight slanted into the restaurant.

A warm, golden glow was cast on Xie Huaiye's quiet profile.

He sipped his milk, a little milk stain on the corner of his mouth.

"Drink slowly, don't rush."

Yan Ning gently handed over a tissue.

Lucy walked in at that moment, her voice light and cheerful:

"Director Wang has made contact with Teacher Chen, who taught Huaiye when he was a child. She came to see him specially!"

"Teacher Chen?"

Yan Ning was somewhat surprised.

But a faint glimmer of hope also rose in my heart.

Perhaps the familiar faces of former teachers can be like a key.

Can we unlock his long-buried memories?

The door opened quickly.

The elderly man who entered had gray hair and a slightly plump figure.

His face was plastered with a friendly smile as he repeatedly said:

"Oh, Huaiye, it's great to see you again!"

He reached out to pat Xie Huaiye on the shoulder.

Xie Huaiye's body tensed for a moment.

He shrank back slightly.

Yan Ning carefully examined Teacher Chen.

A fleeting glint flashed in the depths of his cloudy eyes.

Yan Ning couldn't quite put her finger on what made her feel uncomfortable.

"Hello, Teacher Chen."

Yan Ning silently stepped in front of Xie Huaiye, blocking his path half a step.

He greeted her politely.

Teacher Chen turned to Yan Ning with a smile:

"Miss Yan Ning, right? Huai Ye used to be my closest friend. I'd like to have a private talk with him to rekindle those old feelings. Maybe I can help?"

"The old method might work."

alone?

Yan Ning's heart sank.

She looked at Xie Huaiye.

He kept his head down, his fingers digging into the edge of the tablecloth.

Yan Ning remained silent for a few seconds.

The coldness in Teacher Chen's eyes made her uneasy.

But for Director Wang's sake, there was only a faint hope.

It made it hard for her to refuse.

"……good."

Her voice was a little hoarse.

She walked over to Xie Huaiye, who was stacking building blocks in the distance, and squatted down:

"Huaiye, would you like to go inside and sit with Teacher Chen?"

"No……"

Xie Huaiye shook his head violently, a childlike panic rising in his eyes.

"Sister...I don't want to go..."

"It's fine."

Yan Ning tried to make her voice sound calm and warm as she gently took his slightly cool hand in hers:

"I'm right outside, very close. You can talk for a bit and then come out, okay?"

She half-coaxed and half-helped him to the front of the study.

"Then let's go in."

Teacher Chen smiled and pulled Xie Huaiye inside.

Then, a soft "click" sounded.

The door is locked from the inside!

Yan Ning's heart was gripped tightly by the sound of the lock clicking!

Why lock the door?

A chill ran up my spine from my feet.

She paced back and forth outside the door, her ear pressed against the door panel.

At first, it was just a vague whisper.

Then, a sudden "bang!"

Yan Ning felt all the blood rush to his head.

She raised her hand to knock on the door.

"It's alright, it's alright!"

Teacher Chen's voice came through the door.

With a hint of annoyance at being interrupted:

"Huaiye accidentally knocked over the chair! Miss Yanning, don't worry!"

Yan Ning's hand froze in mid-air.

She forced herself to breathe, trying to believe the explanation.

However, the silence lasted for less than a minute.

A series of intermittent sounds emerged.

It was the sound of sobbing!

It was Xie Huaiye's sobbing, which he was trying his best to suppress but could not control!

The sound pierced Yan Ning's ears.

It pierced through her last bit of hesitation.

To hell with rules and the director's face!

"Get out of the way!"

Yan Ning found a spare key, unlocked the door, and then kicked the iron gate.
