Her gaze swept back and forth between Xie Huaiye and Yan Ning.
"Are you still not done talking after all this time? Huaiye has just recovered and needs to rest. He can't overexert himself."
Her gaze fell on Yan Ning, with a hint of wariness.
The subtle atmosphere that had just filled the room.
It was instantly smashed to pieces.
The smile in Xie Huaiye's eyes quickly disappeared.
Instead, a clear hint of displeasure was felt.
He frowned slightly, not looking at Ren Xuelan.
Instead, she turned to the somewhat bewildered Yan Ning and said softly:
"Yan Ning, you must be tired after taking care of me all day. Go back to your room and rest."
He paused, then added, "Let Lucy make you some of your favorite snacks."
Yan Ning was startled by Ren Xuelan's sudden intrusion, and her heart pounded.
She didn't want to stay any longer, so she quickly nodded and said, "Okay, then you should get some rest."
She didn't even dare to look at Ren Xuelan, keeping her head down.
Like a frightened little rabbit.
He quickly slipped out of the room from Ren Xuelan's side.
Ren Xuelan immediately went to the bedside.
She frowned and asked in a low voice, "Huaiye, you've let her continue living here?"
She had overheard a few words outside, and alarm bells went off in her head.
Xie Huaiye leaned back against the headboard, his expression calm, and said softly:
"Yes, I asked her to stay a few more days."
He raised his head and looked directly at Ren Xuelan.
"What?!"
Ren Xuelan could hardly believe her ears:
"Son, are you confused from the accident?! You had amnesia before, and your mind wasn't clear, so I tolerated letting her stay to take care of you!"
"Now that your memory has returned and your mind is clear, why are you still keeping her around?!"
She became more and more agitated as she spoke, her chest heaving:
"Are you trying to infuriate me? Who is she? What kind of talk will this make if word gets out!"
