“Young Miss, you should be careful when you go to school. This school is full of noble young masters and ladies, and they all have terrible tempers and like to form cliques. I'm afraid you'll be in trouble if you go there…”
Yan Ning smiled, feeling a sense of relief. There were still people in this family who cared about her. She said softly, "Uncle Liu, don't worry, I will be careful."
Butler Liu nodded and said sincerely, "When Madam was alive, she was very kind to us servants. Now that you're back, I will definitely help her take good care of you."
"You can tell me anything, and I will do my best to help you."
Yan Ning said gratefully, "Thank you, Uncle Liu. You're the first person to mention my mother to me. I'm very touched."
As the two chatted, the car quickly arrived at the school gate.
Yan Ning looked up and saw that this prestigious school truly lived up to its reputation.
The campus is vast, stretching as far as the eye can see, with large expanses of neatly trimmed green lawns, resembling a giant green carpet spread out before your eyes.
At the heart of the campus stands a tall teaching building, its elegant and grand design reflecting a European architectural style.
The top is a pointed tower, with a golden weather vane adorning the spire.
The walls of the teaching building are decorated with exquisite reliefs, and the main entrance consists of two huge oak doors with intricate carvings.
In the center is a huge school emblem, on which is a golden phoenix spreading its wings and soaring high.
A young female teacher was waiting for her at the school gate. Seeing Yan Ning get out of the car, she smiled and greeted her.
"Su Yanning, right? Hello, I am your homeroom teacher, Ms. Qiao."
Yan Ning nodded and said softly, "Hello, Teacher Qiao."
Teacher Qiao glanced at Yan Ning and asked softly, "Yan Ning, I heard you've never been to school before?"
Yan Ning lowered her eyes slightly and replied, "Yes, I haven't."
Teacher Qiao paused for a moment, then asked cautiously, "Did someone teach you to read?"
Yan Ning replied, "I can read; I read books often."
"Haha, that's good." Teacher Qiao secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
She smiled slightly and said gently, "It's okay. Our school lets out early and we have a lot of courses. Just choose what you like to study, and listen to the main courses as well. It's alright if you don't understand them."
She paused for a moment, then added, "Don't worry, I'll try my best to help you adapt."
Yan Ning nodded and followed Teacher Qiao to the entrance of Class 2A.
She pushed open the door and went inside.
The classroom fell silent instantly, and the students all looked up, curiously watching the new student.
Yan Ning saw many students who were dressed very elegantly.
Some of the girls were getting their nails done, while others were chatting. The boys, on the other hand, were mostly lounging around, some playing on their phones, and others dozing off.
Teacher Qiao stood on the podium, smiling as she introduced the class to everyone:
"We have a new student today, Yan Ning. Let's give him a round of applause!"
Sparse applause rang out from below.
Teacher Qiao pointed to a seat and said, "Yan Ning, you can sit here. Remember to look for me if you need anything. My office is around the corner in the corridor."
Yan Ning nodded and walked over to sit down.
After Ms. Qiao left, the class immediately became lively.
The students began to whisper and murmur among themselves.
A sharp voice came from the front, "Oh, cousin, you're here to school too? I never would have guessed."
Yan Ning looked up and saw Su Muyao turn around with a mocking smile on her face and disdain in her eyes.
Several girls also turned around and looked at Yan Ning with hostile eyes.
One of the girls asked in a low voice, "What? She never went to school? She didn't even finish elementary or middle school?"
Another girl covered her mouth and whispered, "I'm dying of laughter. Is she the Yan Ning who was found? Sure enough, even though she's wearing the skin of a rich person, she can't hide the poor and stingy taste in her bones."
Yan Ning sat on her desk, staring calmly at the blackboard, her eyes devoid of any emotion.
She was already used to this kind of mockery and provocation; these people's gazes and words could not hurt her.
At that moment, a sarcastic voice came from the back row:
"Cousin, you've never been to school and you still have the nerve to come to high school? If I were you, I'd be so ashamed I'd have nowhere to hide my face."
Su Yao sat in the back row with a gloating smile on his face.
The atmosphere in the classroom became somewhat oppressive.
Yan Ning simply sat there indifferently, ignoring everything.
Seeing that Yan Ning had no reaction, Su Yao revealed a wicked smile.
He picked up a basketball from the ground, bounced it in his hand, and then slammed it hard towards Yan Ning.
The basketball flew past with a whoosh.
"Smack." It hit Yan Ning squarely on the head.
Yan Ning was hit by the basketball, her hair was a little messy, and a few strands of hair fell in front of her forehead.
Alright, alright, you dare to make a move now, huh?
She frowned, lowered her head, rubbed the spot where she had been hit, and a cold glint flashed in her eyes.
The surrounding students immediately fell silent and all looked over. Although they dared to laugh at someone, they didn't dare to hit them.
A tense atmosphere filled the classroom.
Seeing Yan Ning get hit, Su Yao couldn't help but burst into laughter, his tone full of sarcasm:
"The ugly duckling wants to be a swan? That's hilarious! Get home right now!"
Yan Ning was not angered by him, but only gave him a cold look.
The next second, she suddenly turned around.
He bent down, picked up the basketball from the ground, and slammed it at Su Yao's face.
Her movements were quick and decisive, and the basketball flew incredibly fast.
With a fierce determination, he headed straight for Su Yao.
Su Yao had no time to react before the basketball hit him squarely in the cheek with a loud "bang".
"Holy crap..."
He was hit so hard that he saw stars and staggered backward, almost falling over.
Fresh blood flowed from his nostrils, and two streams of blood slid down his cheeks.
Su Yao covered his face, hissing in pain. He glared at Yan Ning, his eyes filled with anger.
"How dare you hit me! You're asking for it!"
Yan Ning looked at him coldly, without a trace of fear in her eyes, and said:
"I'm hitting you, so what?"
Su Yao's face turned ashen with anger at Yan Ning's words, and he shouted:
"You bastard, I'll fight you to the death today! I'll kill you!"
He lowered his hand from his face and prepared to rush towards Yan Ning, but was held back by the classmates around him.
Someone whispered a word of advice, "Don't be impulsive, the teacher is coming soon!"
Su Yao wouldn't listen to any of it. He struggled to break free from his classmate's grasp and rushed towards Yan Ning.
"bite--"
Just then, the school bell rang.
A teacher carrying textbooks pushed open the door and walked in.
Seeing the chaos in the classroom, he frowned slightly and asked in a serious tone:
"What's going on? What are you doing?"
