Xie Huaiye's eyes lit up. He paused for a moment, his tone tinged with a hint of probing:
What kind of compensation do you want?
Yan Ning glanced at him indifferently, a slight smile playing on her lips, and said calmly:
"After I've taken care of things for you, you can ask your grandfather to cancel the engagement."
Xie Huaiye was stunned, the light in his eyes dimmed slightly, and after a moment of silence, he said in a deep voice:
"Okay, I promise you."
After finishing their meal, the two took a car to the Xie family's house.
The Xie family's grandeur far exceeded Yan Ning's expectations; its extravagance was several times greater than that of the Su family.
The tall European-style building looked particularly solemn and majestic in the night, and the two stone lions at the entrance were also very imposing.
Xie Huaiye's parents happened to be out socializing today, so there were only a few servants at home.
When they saw Xie Huaiye return with a strange woman, a hint of surprise appeared in their eyes.
Why would the young master bring a woman back on his own initiative?!
The servants exchanged glances, not daring to ask any further questions. After greeting Xie Huaiye, they withdrew.
The two arrived at the door of the room on the top floor.
This room was completely different from the others; not only was the door locked, but the windows also had a thick security bar.
Xie Huaiye stood at the doorway in silence for a moment, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes. He said in a low voice:
"My brother might be a little out of control, so you should be prepared."
After saying that, he took out his key from his pocket and slowly opened the door to the room.
The room was dark, with the lights off.
The ground was littered with debris: scraps of paper, toy parts, and several torn books, creating a chaotic scene.
Yan Ning looked around warily, but didn't see a single person.
Huh, where did everyone go?
Just as Yan Ning was wondering what was going on, a small face suddenly peeked down from the door frame and made a strange face at the two of them.
"Hehe! Someone's coming!" Xie Zhuo grinned.
Yan Ning was startled and instinctively took a step back.
Xie Zhuo was deathly pale, but his eyes were unusually bright, flashing with an eerie light.
His lips curled up slightly, revealing two sharp little tiger teeth.
He hung upside down on the door frame, his body swaying in the air, and he let out low laughter.
"Hehehehe!!"
Xie Huaiye, however, seemed unfazed. A hint of helplessness flashed in his eyes as he immediately reached out and hugged Xie Zhuo, his voice filled with anxiety:
"Xiao Zhuo, come down quickly! What are you doing on the door frame? Are you hurt?"
"Let me go! Let me go!"
After Xie Huaiye hugged Xie Zhuo, he seemed to be enraged and started punching and kicking, scratching and clawing at Xie Huaiye's body.
His movements were swift and ruthless, as if he had completely lost his mind.
Yan Ning had never seen Xie Huaiye like this before. He was usually calm and composed, but at this moment he seemed anxious and helpless.
While dodging Xie Zhuo's attacks, he gently comforted her:
"Xiao Zhuo, it's me, it's your brother, don't be afraid, don't be afraid..."
"Awoo! Awoo! Awoo!"
Xie Zhuo seemed not to hear him at all, and kept making strange noises.
His strength was extraordinary; Xie Huaiye's suit was quickly torn open, revealing his fair skin underneath.
Blood seeped from the wound, but Xie Huaiye didn't care at all. He just held Xie Zhuo in his arms, his eyes full of heartache.
"It's my fault for not taking good care of you, it's all my fault..."
Seeing this scene before him, Yan Ning couldn't help but feel a little moved.
She never imagined that Xie Huaiye, who was usually aloof and ruthless, would be like this.
She's actually a brother-lover!
Seeing Xie Huaiye in such a difficult situation, Yan Ning couldn't bear to see him suffer.
After all, it wouldn't be good if I scratched his handsome face.
She stepped forward, bit her fingertip, and blood instantly seeped out.
She dripped a drop of blood onto the immobilization talisman, and the talisman instantly emitted a faint red light.
"Hey, move aside for a moment."
She patted Xie Huaiye on the shoulder and gently pulled him away. Xie Huaiye released Xie Zhuo with some confusion.
"Smack!"
Yan Ning slapped the talisman onto Xie Zhuo's forehead.
Xie Zhuo seemed to have been knocked unconscious; her body stiffened instantly, then she immediately stopped moving, her small body falling backward.
Xie Huaiye immediately looked anxiously at the body, his eyes filled with worry, and asked urgently:
"Xiao Zhuo, why aren't you moving? Are you alright?"
Yan Ning said calmly, "Don't be too worried about your brother. I only immobilized him. It's nothing."
Xie Huaiye took a deep breath, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes, but he quickly regained his composure:
"So what should we do next?"
Yan Ning said, "Search the villa to see what caused this to happen to your brother."
After she finished speaking, she took out a uniquely shaped compass from her pocket.
This compass is completely different from ordinary ones; its pointer flashes a faint blue light.
She started wandering around the room, the compass needle swaying incessantly.
As she walked, she asked, "Your house doesn't look newly renovated. What's its background?"
Xie Huaiye said calmly, "This isn't actually our family's usual house; it's a new house my dad just bought."
“He consulted a feng shui master beforehand, who said that the house had excellent feng shui and that living in it would bring wealth. After we moved in, our family did indeed make a lot of money.”
Upon hearing this, Yan Ning smiled slightly. Houses can generate wealth, how interesting.
