I heard Yan Ning apologize.
The grievance in Xie Huaiye's eyes was like a thin mist under the sunlight.
It dissipated quickly.
He nodded vigorously and hummed in agreement.
With a childlike relief, she smiled and said, "It's okay, sister... It's my fault, I shouldn't have scared you. I can find another stone!"
As he spoke, he immediately turned to go into the bushes.
Find that ugly rock that got knocked away.
"Wait!" Yan Ning quickly grabbed him.
She stood up and walked towards the bushes herself.
He bent down and carefully parted the weeds.
Soon, they picked up that ugly, uniquely shaped stone again.
She carefully wiped off the dirt.
Then, he solemnly placed it back into Xie Huaiye's large palm.
He said with a smile:
"Look, your sister found it for you."
"This is a treasure that Ono found. My sister likes it very much. Thank you."
Xie Huaiye looked at the precious stone that he had lost and then found again.
Then she looked at Yan Ning's gentle smiling face.
The gloom from before was swept away.
A bright smile returned to his face.
His eyes shone as if they were filled with the entire Milky Way:
"Hehe! I'm glad you like it, sister!"
He subconsciously reached out to hug Yan Ning's arm again.
But the movement stopped halfway through.
Yan Ning looked at him like this.
She reached out and gently patted his strong arm.
"Alright, little man, let's continue looking for wood, okay? Promise me this time that you'll stay close to me, okay?"
"Yes! I promise! I won't leave my sister's side for even a moment!"
Xie Huaiye nodded vigorously, his voice loud and clear.
Sunlight filters through the gaps in the leaves.
It casts dappled light.
Xie Huaiye and Yan Ning continued searching for firewood in the woods for quite a while.
Suddenly, Xie Huaiye stopped in his tracks, pointed ahead, and shouted excitedly:
"Sister, look! There's a hole over there!"
Yan Ning looked in the direction he pointed.
Sure enough, behind the dense vines.
A dark, gaping hole was faintly visible.
Driven by curiosity, the two pushed aside the branches and went inside.
The cave suddenly opened up, revealing a completely different world.
A pool of crystal-clear spring water lies quietly in the center.
It looks like a piece of emerald green jade.
Even more amazing is...
At the entrance of the cave, a magnificent rainbow hangs in the air.
Red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple—seven colors of light intertwine and flow.
The entire cave was illuminated in a dreamlike manner.
"Wow--!"
Xie Huaiye jumped up and grabbed Yan Ning's arm.
He shook himself excitedly and shouted:
"Sister! Sister, look! It's so beautiful! It's like a place where fairies live!"
His voice echoed in the small cave.
With pure joy.
Yan Ning was also awestruck by the beautiful scenery.
Her lips unconsciously curved upwards, and she softly echoed:
"Yes, it's really beautiful."
The soft glow of the rainbow fell on her face.
It looked exceptionally touching.
"elder sister!"
Xie Huaiye suddenly remembered something and excitedly suggested, "I heard that if you see a rainbow, you should make a wish! It's really effective! Shall we make a wish together?"
He looked at Yan Ning with anticipation.
Looking into his childlike, sincere eyes
Yan Ning's heart softened, and she couldn't bear to refuse.
She nodded, closed her eyes, clasped her hands together, and silently thought:
May Huaiye recover soon and live a peaceful and healthy life...
Just as she closed her eyes and made a wish.
A warm, soft touch.
It landed gently on her cheek.
Yan Ning froze, then suddenly opened her eyes.
Before me was Xie Huaiye's magnified handsome face.
He was very close.
When Yan Ning got close, she could clearly see each individual strand of his thick eyelashes.
I could see my own panic reflected in his clear pupils.
His high, straight nose almost touched her face.
The warm breath brushed against her skin.
Time seemed to stand still.
Only the tinkling sound of dripping spring water remained in the cave.
And her own heart pounding like a drum.
With a "boom".
Yan Ning's cheeks instantly burned.
The blush spread all the way to the base of her ears.
A huge panic overwhelmed her.
She even forgot that the pure-eyed man in front of her was suffering from amnesia.
All I remember is this sudden, overly intimate contact.
She was like a startled fawn.
He abruptly took a step back, his voice trembling, and stammered as he questioned:
"What...what are you doing?! Why did you kiss me?"
She instinctively covered her cheek with her hand where she had been kissed.
The strange sensation seemed to linger there.
Xie Huaiye, however, showed no remorse for causing trouble.
He still smiled with his eyes crinkling.
With a naive sense of entitlement.
He even leaned forward slightly, speaking frankly:
"Because the way my sister looked with her eyes closed just now was so incredibly beautiful! More beautiful than a rainbow!"
"Ono looked at it for a while and then wanted to kiss it."
He tilted his head, his eyes sparkling.
Like asking for candy, filled with pure expectation, "Then... can I kiss Ono, big sister?"
"No way!" Yan Ning blurted out.
My heart started beating even faster.
It looked like it was about to burst out of his throat.
She waved her hands frantically, trying to reason with him:
"This kind of thing... is something that can only be done between people who like each other!"
She tried her best to keep a straight face.
Trying to make yourself look more serious.
Xie Huaiye's smile faded slightly.
