Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Before Rong Jing had time to get angry, he was stunned by the six words "but still cute".

His legs seemed to have self-awareness as he followed Xie Changshi. His dark eyes were bright as he walked into the house, repeatedly asking, "Really? Do you really think so?"

Chattering incessantly, he doesn't look like a little zombie, but more like a little sparrow.

Xie Changshi didn't answer Rong Jing's question. Instead, he turned around and asked him, "Would you like some water?"

Rong Jing pointed to the water glass on the table: "I poured it myself."

Before Xie Changshi arrived at the tube building, Rong Jing had already come in. Granny He said that Xie Changshi left the key with her, saying that he would give it to Rong Jing when he came back.

Rong Jing was not polite. For him, although he had only lived in the tube-shaped building for one year, 803 was still his home.

Especially when he stepped into 803 again, he found that it was exactly the same as the 803 he remembered, without any change.

Everything seemed to have returned to twelve years ago, without any sense of strangeness.

Xie Changshi thought to himself that this little zombie was quite clever, not waiting outside for him for two hours like a fool. He walked into the kitchen and turned on the faucet to wash his hands. Rong Jing followed him in, catching sight of him from the corner of his eye. Amidst the clatter of running water, Xie Changshi asked, "How did you find it?"

After waking up, Song Qing reported to him the situation in the South City Cemetery. He did not explain much, but only said that he wanted to suppress the news.

Nancheng Cemetery was in Tingyang City. When Rong Jing had been unconscious and sealed in a coffin by the old Taoist priest, and when Xie Changshi decided to move the coffin to the Nancheng Cemetery, a place with good feng shui, he had actually considered putting some money inside. In case Rong Jing woke up, he could use the money to take a taxi back to Sui County.

But this request was rejected by the old Taoist priest. He said that no other debris could be placed in the coffin, as it would affect Rong Jing's sleep.

The tortoise shell and copper coins are exceptions. Both are antiques from a long time. Like the talisman paper pasted on Rong Jing's forehead, they are used to suppress things.

Rong Jing took out the tortoise shell he had hidden away and waved it in front of Xie Changshi, proudly recounting what had happened in the past two days: "Boss Liu originally wanted to invite me to a big dinner, but since I was waiting for you, I turned him down."

"It's okay, I'll take you to a big dinner later."

"real?"

"Um."

On the first day Rong Jing returned, Xie Changshi had no plans to take him back to Yancheng.

He took Rong Jing to the city center of Tingyang City for dinner and asked Song Qing to go back to the hotel to rest.

Xie Changshi picked a shopping mall and went all the way to the eighth floor. He took Rong Jing for a walk and asked him in a low voice, "What do you want to eat?"

Rong Jing's eyes lingered on the photos of the dishes from various restaurants, and he thought each one looked delicious. He tugged at the man's sleeve with two fingers, stood on tiptoe, and asked in his ear, "Xie Changshi, are you rich now? Do you have a lot of money?"

The warm breath with the boy's clean scent fell on the earlobe, like being kissed by a cat.

Xie Changshi's hands hanging at his side tightened slightly, then relaxed again after a moment, and replied, "You can eat anything you want."

"Then I want to eat this." Rong Jing pointed his finger at a barbecue restaurant.

On the way back to Sui County from Changxi County, Rong Jing heard Boss Liu's son begging to eat barbecue. In order to convince Boss Liu, the child tried his best to describe how delicious the barbecue was. Rong Jing didn't know whether Boss Liu was moved, but Rong Jing herself was really tempted by the child's words.

Xie Changshi met all of Rong Jing's requirements.

When ordering, Rong Jing asked again: "Can I order as much as I want?"

He held the pen, raised his head, and his eyes were full of hope.

Xie Changshi nodded patiently and even said, "You can order everything on the menu."

So, when the waitress saw the full page of √ on the menu, she paused in confusion. She turned around and was about to ask when she saw Xie Changshi nod at her and said calmly, "One for each."

The waiter politely said, "Maybe the quantity is a bit too much."

"It's okay, I can finish it."

Can you finish this?

Could it be that he is a big eater?

The waiter scratched his head and finally said nothing more.

The dishes were brought up one by one. Xie Changshi took off his suit jacket and rolled up his shirt cuffs, revealing a cold, white, and thin arm. At his wrist, an old red rope was attached to Xie Changshi's sexy wrist bone, which immediately caught Rong Jing's attention.

Rong Jing asked for this red rope from an old Taoist priest as a birthday gift for Xie Changshi.

Xie Changshi had been wearing it all the time back then, and he didn't expect that he still hadn't taken it off after twelve years.

Rong Jing felt her heart soften, and her eyes looked at Xie Changshi with more joy.

The barbecue was sizzling and emitting a fragrant aroma. Rong Jing took a deep sniff, then rolled up the vegetable leaves and side dishes like Xie Changshi and stuffed them into his mouth. His snow-white cheeks bulged and he squinted his eyes in satisfaction.

tasty.

"Eat slowly."

"Hmm."

Two hours later, Rong Jing, who had eaten her fill, drank the drinks given by the barbecue restaurant as a gift and followed Xie Changshi to other stores in the mall.

Xie Changshi said he wanted to buy him a mobile phone and some clothes.

Rong Jing had picked out his favorite cell phone and clothes. As the elevator waited for its descent, he leaned over to Xie Changshi and learned how to use his cell phone. Although Xie Changshi promised to teach him when they got home, Rong Jing was like a child with a new toy, eager to learn.

Until the elevator suddenly made a 'click' and stopped descending.

Xie Changshi and Rong Jing looked at the display screen at the same time.

The number on the screen was stuck between 2 and 3, constantly jumping. For a few seconds, a bright red color, like blood, slowly seeped out from under the number. Xie Changshi raised his hand, his fingers brushing across the screen, a sticky sensation immediately coating it. Rong Jing leaned over and sniffed, then hummed, his expression a bit disgusted. "It's blood."

"But it stinks, not as fragrant as yours."

"Yeah." Xie Changshi responded and took out a wet tissue from his suit pocket to wipe the blood clean.

As he lowered his eyes, he saw changes in the elevator again.

A huge bloody handprint appeared above his head, with water dripping down. A cold wind blew towards this enclosed space from somewhere, clinging to Xie Changshi's exposed arms and collarbone like a snake.

Bang!

The strong feeling of weightlessness came unexpectedly, and the number on the display screen dropped directly to the non-existent -18. Rong Jing accidentally bumped into Xie Changshi's arms, covering his sore chin with anger in his eyes.

Just as Xie Changshi was about to lower his head, the lights in the elevator began to flicker violently and soon fell into complete darkness.

His fingers tentatively traced the outline of the boy's cheek, then dropped to his chin. He pressed his fingers against his face and rubbed it gently, asking, "Are you okay?"

Rong Jing spoke frankly: "It's not good. You are so hard and it hurts me."

Xie Changshi was speechless for a moment.

Rong Jing didn't think there was anything wrong with this. He stuffed the phone that he had almost dropped into Xie Changshi's suit pocket and hid it. This was the phone Xie Changshi had just bought for him, and he couldn't let it get broken.

Otherwise he will feel bad.

She crawled out of the man's arms, and the soft black hair brushed against Xie Changshi's throat. The touch was subtle and quick, and it should have fallen as lightly as a feather, but strangely it caused a very violent reaction.

Xie Changshi took a step back, his back pressed against the cold wall through his thin white shirt, his Adam's apple rolling slightly.

Not noticing Xie Changshi's barely perceptible reaction, Rong Jing nimbly slid out of the man's arms. His cold, slender five fingers tugged in the air in a certain direction. A strange, sharp cry pierced his eardrums, and a pitch-black, translucent shadow squeezed between Rong Jing's fingers, struggling desperately: "Let me go, let me go!"

"No way." Rong Jing retorted, holding down the ghost with his clenched fists and banging it three times.

Cheng Puyu was beaten so hard that he cried out in pain.

It had been a ghost for three years and had been hungry for three years. Finally, it smelled the sweet scent of food and tried hard to convince itself of the necessity of the human-ghost food chain. However, before its mouth even touched the food, it was taken out and beaten.

Is there any justice left?!

Rong Jing's hands were not big, and his fingers were rather thin, looking as if they could be broken with a single bend. However, when he clenched his fist and smashed it down, it felt as heavy as a thousand pounds. Cheng Puyu covered his head with his hands, feeling as if his internal organs were about to be vomited out.

"Stop hitting me, I was wrong, I was really wrong, I won't scare anyone anymore!"

Rong Jing paused and looked at it suspiciously: "Do you really know you are wrong?"

Cheng Puyu nodded his head like a chick pecking at rice.

Okay then.

Rong Jing let go of his hand and was about to step back, but he saw the evil ghost, who looked like a pitiful little thing, suddenly jump up. Its blurry face began to show terrifying features, and its scarlet eyes were filled with endless malice. It rushed towards Rong Jing with terrifying momentum.

Rong Jing blinked and threw a fist.

puff.

Cheng Puyu fell flat on his back against the elevator wall with a loud bang, and like a gecko, he slowly slid down as time passed.

With another plop, it fell to the ground.

Rong Jing looked at it with disdain, waited for the elevator to return to the B3 floor, and pulled Xie Changshi out of the elevator.

As he walked, he commented: "It's so stupid."

Then, changing the subject, he curiously asked Xie Changshi, "During the twelve years that I was sealed in the coffin by the Taoist, were you also haunted by ghosts?"

Rong Jing discovered it twelve years ago.

Xie Changshi is an unlucky guy.

With him as the center, within a radius of 100 meters, there were no less than five ghosts staring at him and trying to eat him.

Later, Xie Changshi adopted him and brought him to live in a tube-shaped building. Rong Jing felt that he should do something for Xie Changshi, so he beat up all the ghosts that were pestering Xie Changshi. At first, those ghosts were still unwilling to give up and wanted to seek external help, but after a few times, they were all beaten by him and cried for their parents, and crawled away crying.

Since then, he never appeared beside Xie Changshi again.

"The first two years were fine," Xie Changshi answered Rong Jing's question. "After you were put into the coffin, the ghosts you beat up got the news from somewhere and came back."

But they seemed to be scared by Rong Jing's beating.

I didn't come to bully him, but helped him a few times.

Later he was taken to Yancheng and lost contact with those ghosts.

In a new environment, without the protection of little zombies, he was like a piece of fragrant cake, once again attracting countless ghosts who were drooling over him.

Unfortunately, the red rope on his wrist had been blessed by Taoist Taixu and turned into an algorithm device, so those ghosts and monsters could only look at him twice but could not get close to him.

Rong Jing listened to Xie Changshi's words thoughtfully, then put on a serious expression and patted his shoulder: "It's okay, you don't have to worry about ghosts bothering you anymore."

"Um?"

Rong Jing thought of the page that popped up on the phone screen just now and clenched his fists: "Because your strength is back!"

Xie Changshi: "...Bring me your phone."

Rong Jing was suspicious: "What for?"

Xie Changshi: "I'll delete some unnecessary software for you."

On the way back, Rong Jing took a fancy to the night snack stalls on both sides of the road in the county town at night.

He stared at Xie Changshi eagerly.

The man paused, his hand gripping the steering wheel, and said helplessly, "I'll find a place to park."

After stopping the car, Rong Jing, holding several snacks in her hands, smiled at Xie Changshi: "Xie Changshi, you are such a good person."

"Yeah, I think so too."

"Don't worry, I'm also a little zombie who is grateful and repays kindness." Rong Jing picked and chose, and handed a string of starch sausages sprinkled with chili to Xie Changshi.

Xie Changshi smiled.

It turns out that repaying gratitude means giving him something he bought with his own money.

At ten o'clock in the evening, the man and the zombie finally returned to the tube building.

The tap water and electricity in 803 were still working. Xie Changshi handed the pajamas to Rong Jing and asked him to take a shower. He then unbuttoned the cuffs of his shirt, found clean, new sheets and quilt covers in the closet, and made the bed again.

The bedroom is not big, and the bed is a double bed with upper and lower floors.

After washing himself clean, Rong Jing rushed to the bed as soon as he came out of the bathroom. Sniffing the soft fragrance of the sheets and quilt, his eyes lit up: "It still smells the same as before."

It smells really good.

Not long after, Xie Changshi, wearing loose pajamas and wiping his hair, walked towards the bedroom. His eyes swept over the boy who was lying on the bedside fiddling with his mobile phone. He casually put the towel over his head and took the phone from Rong Jing's hand.

Rong Jing did not have an ID card, and the phone card was opened in the name of Xie Changshi.

After downloading WeChat for Rong Jing, creating a WeChat account, and adding his own WeChat, Xie Changshi returned the phone to him.

"If you have any questions, feel free to contact me."

Xie Changshi taught Rong Jing step by step how to contact people.

Rong Jing nodded obediently. Thinking that Fang Yu and Boss Liu had both left him their phone numbers, he recalled Xie Changshi's actions just now and sent a friend request.

But neither of them responded.

"It's getting late, you can go to bed."

Rong Jing said "oh", pulled up the quilt in the dark and closed his eyes.

After a while, the bed began to creak.

Xie Changshi was sleeping below. He opened his eyes and looked at the wooden board above his head. His voice was slightly hoarse: "Can't sleep?"

Rong Jing murmured vaguely: "I have been sleeping for twelve years."

Then he asked, "Why didn't you sleep?"

Xie Changshi sighed: "Because I have been sleeping for a month."
