Chapter 279 279. Job Application
The showerhead sprayed warm water like raindrops.
The temperature is not very high, but it is much more comfortable than taking a cold shower.
The fingernail-sized soap quickly melted in the palm of my hand.
Virginia quickly applied it all over her body, and some dust and stains quickly disappeared from her body.
The whole person seems to be refreshed.
After changing her clothes, she pushed the door open and stood in front of a mercury mirror, looking at herself under the bright light.
"I suggest you tidy up your hair. Messy hair will give people a bad impression. A haircut is not expensive."
Virginia nodded slowly: "Excuse me, where can I get a haircut?"
"There's a barber shop right next to our store. Aren't you cold wearing so little?"
“I’m used to it”
Pushing open the wooden door of the bathhouse, Virginia shivered uncontrollably at the cold wind blowing in her face.
The shops still open on the street had their lights on.
She quickly found the barber shop and pushed the door open and walked in.
"Please wait a moment, there are two people in front." The barber raised his hand and pointed to the seat against the wall, motioning Virginia to sit down.
The cement stove inside the room was burning charcoal.
Since the door is opened frequently, there is no need to worry about poisoning.
Virginia waited calmly while the barber skillfully manipulated the scissors to trim the customer's hair.
It was quite efficient and it was her turn in less than ten minutes.
The main reason is that these guests are not picky about their hairstyle.
"Do you want your hair longer or shorter?" The barber held Virginia's shoulders and sat in front of the mirror.
"Shorter." Virginia didn't want to get her hair cut all the time and waste money.
"Okay." The barber agreed and started working.
The strands of troubled hair kept falling, revealing Virginia's entire face.
She actually looks pretty good, with a very elegant temperament.
Through the mirror, Virginia looked at the clock behind her.
It's already half past seven.
The haircut cost another penny.
Virginia shook her dizzy head and prepared to go home.
She was carrying dirty clothes in her hands, and wanted to go back to wash them. She walked slowly, looking around.
The streets were much quieter at night, but there were still people coming and going. People seemed to particularly like being under lights.
Isn't she the same? The roadside cake shop sells delicious cakes.
Virginia passed by without paying any attention.
Now that I don’t have any savings, it’s not the time to enjoy myself.
When we returned to the singles community, the security guard on duty was replaced by a tall, young and strong woman.
Virginia was stopped and allowed to enter only after she showed her key.
Most of the lights in the rooms in Building 3 were on.
"What a luxury!" she couldn't help but sigh in her heart.
I walked into the corridor, which was pitch black, and groped my way to my door.
Virginia felt sleepy instinctively, and the habit of going to bed when it got dark was almost written into her genes.
The woman closed the door and fell headfirst onto the bed.
The next morning, almost before daybreak, she woke up of her own accord.
Today is an important day.
Virginia is going to Beijie Primary School to apply for a teacher position.
Time: seven o'clock in the morning.
Must not be late. Virginia turned on the tap, washed her face, and scooped up ice water to moisten her throat.
Put on your new coat and try to make yourself look presentable.
Go downstairs and prepare to go to breakfast.
Still going to the same noodle shop, she ordered a bowl of noodles and casually asked for the address of Beijie Primary School.
The boss was very enthusiastic in helping with directions.
The melodious bell rang six times, and now it was still an hour before seven o'clock.
Virginia found a spot first and stood in front of the deserted entrance of North Street Primary School.
An orange cat orc was sweeping the floor with a broom.
"What do you want, young man?"
"I was introduced by the City Hall to apply for the position of teacher."
"I think so." The orange cat beastman stopped sweeping the floor and picked up the broom handle: "Come on, I'm the principal of this elementary school, you can call me Orange?"
This is such a relaxing name. Virginia followed the orange cat orc and looked at its tail pretending to be indifferent.
Beijie Primary School is located on a street in the north of the city near the mausoleum area and covers a large area.
The two walked across the lawn of the football field and headed towards the teaching building at the back.
"This school has just been built, and many places are not perfect. It mainly accepts children aged seven to twelve. There are two classes in each grade, with forty-eight students in each class, for a total of more than five hundred people." The orange cat orc placed the broom on the tree next to the playground and folded his hands lazily behind his back.
“Some classes are under-represented, right?”
"Yes, the higher the grade, the fewer students there are. The rooms on the first floor are the teacher's office and the equipment room. The second floor is for the first, second, and third grades, and the third floor is for the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. The lord wants to build the house higher, and it is expected that the number of students will increase by two grades per floor in the future." The orange cat beastman paused slightly: "You have to know that there is a disadvantage to this location."
"What?" Virginia looked around.
The orange cat orc raised his hand, as if he had grabbed something out of thin air: "If you encounter some strange phenomena, don't panic, just find a way to inform me, such as ghosts, undead or something. In short, try not to stay in school."
"Mr. Principal, are you a spellcaster?"
"Yes, I used to be the magic consultant of Black Blade Fort, respected by everyone. Even now, I am still valued by the wife of Lord Featherfort."
The two went upstairs, and the orange cat beastman enthusiastically introduced each classroom to Virginia.
"For the sake of children's eyesight, the lord has installed electric lights in every classroom. Yes, you lifted the red switch. Oh, how stupid."
The orange cat beastman asked Virginia to lift him up, and then demonstrated it again: "Do you understand? Don't embarrass yourself in front of the children. They will really laugh at you and you will be embarrassed."
Virginia put the 1.3-meter-tall orange cat orc down and tried it herself.
"Yes, since you are a teacher, you should be able to read. The first step of the interview is to write what I said on the blackboard." The orange cat orc hooked his paw lightly, and the chalk flew out of the chalk box: "This is the latest frosted glass blackboard, you try it."
Virginia picked up the chalk and tried to write a line.
A beginner's handwriting is obviously not beautiful, but with her talent, it soon became very neat.
The orange cat orc nodded slowly, twirling his whiskers with his paws: "I'll read and you write."
Virginia quickly wrote a line of words on the blackboard. Many of the characters were unfamiliar and could only be written by someone who had a complete grasp of the language.
"Okay, you pass the first level."
