Chapter 5 5. The Journey (Part 2)
Walking is really tiring!
Finally, Lowe couldn't hold on any longer and let the sturdy panda butler carry him on his back and continue on his way.
Mossofie's back is very broad. The top layer of the bamboo backpack behind him is an empty seat. Lovi sat on the bamboo backpack, swaying and not very stable, so he found something to hold on to.
"My Lord, please don't pull my ears." The panda butler shook his huge head.
"Sorry." Lowe withdrew his hand awkwardly.
This was really rude. If they were not very close, it would not be surprising that the orcs were furious.
"If the lord really feels it is necessary, please grab the hair on the back of my neck. It will be useless if the panda grabs the ears." Mosophie said, turning his head back.
"Thanks, Messophy."
The white fur on the butler's neck was very soft and felt very nice. Lovi hugged the butler's neck with both hands, and Mosophie giggled, "It's so itchy, Lord, please help me scratch it."
Lovey cooperated and helped, and Mossofie felt relieved.
This time the team walked for a full three hours.
By the time dusk fell, everyone was exhausted.
Yes, Lowe was tired just sitting there. Riding a panda is certainly more comfortable than riding a bullock cart, but it is also tiring to not be able to move freely and to keep the same posture all the time.
Mossof squatted down and let Lovi climb down from him. Then he put the bamboo backpack aside, leaned against a rock, picked up the bamboo tube and drank water in big gulps.
Dinner time has begun.
The guards sat together, eating black bread, drinking cold water, talking and laughing.
As a lord, Lovi ate white bread, and his treatment was indeed much better than that of ordinary guards.
But that's it, he thought.
Lanlan caught a fish from a nearby water source and excitedly took credit for it to Lovey.
The panda butler skillfully took out a small iron pot from his bamboo backpack, lit a bonfire, cooked the fish, and sprinkled some white salt as seasoning.
The fish soup had an enticing aroma, and Lanlan couldn't help swallowing her saliva, her face full of anticipation.
But the panda butler, Mosophie, refused to share her food and said in a warning tone, "Remember, the Lord should eat first, understand?"
"But I caught this fish."
"You all belong to the Lord."
"Okay. Blue got it."
Lovi tasted the fish soup and handed the wooden bowl to Mosofi, "You guys eat it."
The panda butler then signaled Lan Lan to eat. Lan Lan didn't hesitate and finished the fish until only the skeleton was left in a short while.
She took the towel handed over by the panda butler and wiped the corners of her mouth. "Can I catch another one?"
"You are free to move around now, but don't run too far." Mosuofei warned her and waved his hand to indicate that she could do as she pleased.
Lodel came over, holding a half-eaten piece of black bread in her hand, and sat down cross-legged beside Lovi with a gloomy face.
Seeing her sharing the hardships with the guards, Lovi admired her from the bottom of his heart. He secretly leaned over and took a bite of the black bread in her hand, almost breaking a tooth.
This is not bread, it's black bricks! In contrast, the soft and slightly sweet taste of white bread is like heaven! It is indeed a food that only noble lords can enjoy.
Luo Deer glanced at Luo Wei calmly and said, "Not bad. Your performance today did not disappoint me too much."
"Don't underestimate people."
"We will have to hurry and walk a distance later, so be careful. There may be wild animals or unknown dangers at night."
Lodel looked at the panda butler and said, "The Lord's safety is in your hands."
"Don't worry." Mosuofei has become a calm panda.
Lanlan caught another big fish.
The panda butler couldn't even put the iron pot in. Finally, the fish was handed over to the logistics department.
Time passed and dusk was almost falling.
The bright blue moon hangs in the sky.
The temperature began to drop rapidly. The whistling wind blew the leaves on both sides of the road, and rolled up the sand and stones, blurring the eyes of the travelers.
Do we still need to force our way forward in this situation?
Lovey couldn't refute Lodel's decision, so he could only try his best to keep up with the crowd.
The sky became darker and darker, and gradually it was completely night.
A strange light appeared in the woods beside the road.
“Glowing moss!”
Lan Lan exclaimed. She really wanted to dig it up. If the quality of this moss was good, it would be very valuable. Towns would use this luminous moss as a light source at night.
In addition to luminous moss, there are also some things such as fireflies that glow at night.
However, light at night does not mean safety. Some predators will watch from the darkness, waiting for their chance to strike.
Lodel stood by the road with a scabbard in her hand. Her scabbard emitted a faint white light, and she was extremely eye-catching in the darkness.
"Dale, don't you need to lead the team?"
"I think it's more important to protect your safety. I've already told my adjutant where to rest next."
Lodel pushed aside the honest panda butler and followed Lovey side by side.
The howling wind made it impossible to talk.
Lo Wei looked at her quietly. He still remembered that time. On the way back to the territory from visiting his grandmother, Duke Dafen, his mother Evelyn pulled a little silver-haired girl and said to him, "Her name is Lodel, and she will be your sister from now on."
At that time, she looked very easy to bully. Her eyes were red and she had an aggrieved expression.
Who would have thought that now
