Agreement

Agreement

"Lin Yuan, I..."

Xu Feifei sighed insignificantly. She really didn't know how to answer the question right now—whether to agree, refuse, or continue to bury her head in the sand.

"That's true, but I have absolutely no recollection of traveling in Europe. How about we go to Europe again, and then I'll think about this more carefully?"

She chose to bury her head in the sand.

Upon hearing "Europe," Lin Yuan's face instantly darkened, and she remained silent. Her eyes stared intently at her, her pupils growing increasingly dark and terrifying.

The air seemed to freeze. After a long while, Xu Feifei realized something was wrong. She tentatively called out, "Lin Yuan?"

"What if I say no?" Lin Yuan finally spoke.

"No? No? No? Then give me some time to think about it. I don't want to answer you so quickly."

Xu Feifei had had enough of being an ostrich and decided to continue the ostrich policy to the end regarding Lin Yuan's issue.

"Okay, just give me a specific time."

"After this summer vacation," Xu Feifei said, then avoided looking at her, her eyes darting around, clearly showing her lack of confidence.

Lin Yuan frowned and shook her head, saying, "No, it's too long."

"How about a month? Is that okay?" Xu Feifei made a "one" gesture with her hand, her tone a little coquettish.

Lin Yuan shook her head again and said, "No, a month is too long. I'll give you a time, tomorrow."

Xu Feifei almost coughed up a mouthful of old blood. Tomorrow, not even one day, would be enough. She decisively said, "No, at least twenty days."

"No, the day after tomorrow."

"No, ten days."

"No, three days."

"No, one week."

"No, four days."

"..." Xu Feifei looked at Lin Yuan in silence, without saying a word.

Lin Yuan maintained the same expression, showing no change in emotion.

"One week is my bottom line, it can't be any lower," Xu Feifei emphasized again.

"Okay." Lin Yuan readily agreed.

Xu Feifei breathed a sigh of relief after seeing that she had agreed. Heh heh, she'd seen this plot in TV dramas before; she wasn't going to fall for it so easily.

The situation was a little awkward at this moment. Lin Yuan had forced her to shrink into a corner, curling up into a small ball.

Xu Feifei whispered, "Lin Yuan, can you make some room now?"

Lin Yuan raised an eyebrow and moved away from the person.

"Can it be a little further away?"

This time, Lin Yuan didn't move away from the table. Instead, she lowered her head and said, "Don't forget, you have to give me an answer in a week. After a week, you're not allowed to say things like 'I'll think about it' anymore."

Xu Feifei said confidently, "I promise I won't."

"Lin Yuan".

After a while, Xu Feifei whispered again.

This time, Lin Yuan finally let her go, and the two distanced themselves again. The bathroom no longer felt cramped; they could finally breathe freely without having to be so cautious.

"Lin Yuan, weren't you going out on some errands? Aren't you going?"

"Need not."

"No need? Didn't you just say you were coming back to get something?"

"No need, I'll have someone else do it."

After leaving the restroom, Lin Yuan went up to the third floor. After exiting the elevator, she turned a corner, making sure to look back before entering to see if Xu Feifei was following her. Once she was sure she wasn't, she walked straight to the end of the corridor and pulled out a hidden door.

After opening the door, I entered a small study. After fumbling around on the bookshelves for a while, a sound came from the door on the side wall, and suddenly it opened.

After pushing the door open, the space inside is larger than the outside. There is a table and chairs in the middle, and a computer on the table.

Lin Yuan walked in, pulled out a chair, sat down, and turned on the computer. All the rooms in the house appeared on the screen one by one.

Starting with the time she left, we located the surveillance footage of Xu Feifei. Upon opening the video, Xu Feifei was seen lying in the living room playing on her phone, appearing perfectly normal throughout, with no unusual behavior.

Lin Yuan frowned and clicked on the 3x multiplier to see.

Time flew by in the video, and Xu Feifei's feet, which were lying on the sofa, swung around even faster.

After a while, Xu Feifei suddenly sat up, looked around, and muttered something.

The video paused, and the zoom returned to normal. Lin Yuan stared intently at the screen, turned up the volume, and heard Xu Feifei calling her name.

Lin Yuan's brows furrowed even deeper.

The video ends with Xu Feifei entering the bathroom; Lin Yuan did not install any cameras in the bathroom. What happened inside is unclear.

The surveillance footage was sparse; Xu Feifei's monologue in the living room was mostly irrelevant. However, before going to the bathroom, she called out, "Su Huan, is that you?" which caught Lin Yuan's attention.

Upon seeing this, Lin Yuan stood up and made a phone call.

The call was answered quickly, and Lin Yuan asked coldly, "I told you to keep an eye on them, did you?"

"Look closely, what happened?" the person on the other end asked, bewildered.

"Where is he? Is he still there?"

After a rustling sound on the other end of the phone, "The person is still here. We've been watching them the whole time; they haven't gone out."

Lin Yuan tapped the table rhythmically with her hands, her eyes fixed on the video on the monitor. She remained silent for a long time, her gaze growing increasingly deep.

The person on the other end of the phone didn't dare hang up, waiting anxiously for instructions.

There was static on the phone just now, what were you doing at the time?

"I was busy with something at the time and just went over to check if the person was there. There might have been some noise from my walking. Sorry."

Lin Yuan felt a surge of annoyance. "Didn't I tell you to keep an eye on her outside the room the whole time? You absolutely cannot let her out of your sight. If she runs away, I'll make you regret it."

The person on the phone quickly explained, "No, I'm guarding the door, she can't escape."

"Which door were you guarding? Did you touch her hand every day as I told you before?"

The person on the phone stammered, "At the main gate, uh... yes, yes."

Suddenly, Lin Yuan felt a surge of anger, which she tried her best to suppress. "I told you to stand guard at the door of the room and touch her every day. Did you do as I asked?"

"If I find out next time that you haven't done what I asked, do you know the consequences?"

Upon hearing this, the person on the other end of the phone visibly panicked and hurriedly replied, "I know, I know, I will do as you ask."

Frustrated, Lin Yuan hung up the phone, tossed it aside, returned to her seat, and started watching the video again to see if there were any missing clues.

After Lin Yuan went upstairs, Xu Feifei rummaged around in the bathroom, trying to see if there were any bugs in this world that would allow her to teleport to Su Huan's side.

After searching for a long time, she still couldn't find it. Exhausted from all this, Xu Feifei lay down to rest in the bathtub.

Su Huan has been kidnapped, and her top priority now is to rescue her.

How can it be cured?

"Feifei, what's wrong? You seem distracted?" Lin Yuan put down her chopsticks and looked at her.

"Huh?" Xu Feifei came back to her senses and looked towards Lin Yuan.

"Why aren't you eating? Why are you just poking at the food with your chopsticks?"

Hearing this, Xu Feifei looked down at her bowl and saw that the rice was indeed full of holes, which looked unsightly. Silently, she used her chopsticks to scoop the rice together and cover up the holes.

"what's on your mind?"

Xu Feifei shook her head and said, "No."

She sighed silently, unsure of what to do. Should she go back to the Xu family and ask her parents for help? She hadn't contacted them for days, and she wondered if they thought she was missing.

Thinking about this makes me a little panicked.

Xu Feifei hesitated for a long time before slowly saying, "Lin Yuan, I want to go back."

Lin Yuan's eyes turned dangerous. "Why?"

But Xu Feifei had her head down and didn't notice the change in her eyes. "I feel like I've been here for a while and haven't contacted my parents. I'm afraid they'll worry about me."

“It’s okay. I told my aunt and uncle in advance that we were participating in a study tour organized by Y school. Because the theme is quite special, the school needs to implement closed management, so we won’t be in contact with them for the time being. My aunt and uncle were very happy to hear that and told us to have a great time on our trip.”

"Ah." Xu Feifei opened her mouth in surprise, forming a small "O".

"When did you say that? Why didn't you tell me?"

“I told you when you were unconscious. I guess you didn’t want your parents to worry, so I told them in advance.”

Xu Feifei thought for a moment, then nodded and said, "That's good, that way I don't have to tell them."

After a moment of silence, Xu Feifei began to drift off again, this time no longer poking holes. Instead, she put the chopsticks in her mouth and stared blankly into space.

"What happened? I can tell you your mind isn't here. You can tell me what's wrong."

Lin Yuan really wanted to know what happened this afternoon, but if she asked directly, she knew the other woman wouldn't tell her the truth, so she could only try to find out.

After hesitating for a while, Xu Feifei said, "Lin Yuan, could you help me find someone?"

Upon hearing this, Lin Yuan realized she had a chance and asked, "Who is it?"

"Su Huan".

The name was expected, and Lin Yuan didn't react much. She raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why are you looking for her? I remember you two weren't very close."

In the past few days, Xu Feifei has learned that Lin Yuan has some money, so finding someone shouldn't be difficult for Lin Yuan.

In this world right now, it seems that Lin Yuan is the only person she can rely on.

"I have some questions for her, but I haven't seen her for two weeks before the final exams, and I'm a little worried."

What do you want to ask her?

This caught her off guard, and she stared blankly at Lin Yuan.

"Um?"

Xu Feifei hurriedly looked away, lowered her head, and mumbled, "No...it's nothing, just some very small things."

"What's wrong? You can tell me about it, maybe I can help you answer it."

Xu Feifei picked up her chopsticks, shoveled a couple of mouthfuls of rice into her mouth, and shook her head at her.

Seeing this, Lin Yuan gripped the muscles in her thighs tightly under the table. Her face remained calm, as if she felt no pain in her legs.

Hasn't she done enough? Why is she thinking of going back? Why can't she just stay by her side?

Wouldn't it be better to stay?
