Tutoring
Aside from the time spent catching up on homework, Xu Feifei felt she had a very enjoyable weekend. Sometimes she really wondered why she was working so hard on homework in the world of novels; shouldn't she be indulging herself and having fun?
But when she stared at the piles of homework on a weekend night, she realized that she was just a ruthless homework-writing robot.
But if you think about it another way, once she returns to the real world and goes through rigorous training here, she might become a top student!
Xu Feifei was happy just thinking about it, and a smile involuntarily spread across her face.
In class, because of his outstanding performance and the fact that he won first place, the teacher gave him sincere affirmation and praise, and his classmates looked on with envy and applauded enthusiastically.
She looked at her report card and burst into laughter.
"Hahaha..."
After glancing at her report card from behind, Nangong Ye said gloatingly, "Xu Feifei, I knew it."
Xu Feifei quickly covered the report card, forcing herself to maintain a composed demeanor, and asked, "So, may I ask what your grades are, big brother?"
Nangong Ye flicked the report card with his finger and said smugly, "My grades are definitely higher than yours. Here, take it!"
Xu Feifei took it and saw that the total score was actually one point higher than hers! One point higher! One point!
Unwilling to admit defeat, he retorted, "Tch! You're only one point ahead of me, what's there to be proud of?"
"You said before that in the college entrance exam, a single point can be devastating, like thousands of soldiers crossing a single-plank bridge. A single point can make a difference of dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of people. Do you think that one point is important or not?"
“But didn’t you say you didn’t have to take the college entrance exam?” Xu Feifei retorted.
“I’m not taking the college entrance exam, but you are!” Nangong Ye said smugly.
"I...I...you..." Xu Feifei was speechless, unable to find the words to refute. She then slumped back into her seat, dejected and listless.
Seeing her listless appearance, Nangong Ye didn't offer any comfort or pity. Instead, he went over and ruffled her hair, laughing, "Oh dear! Why did you suddenly look so dejected? Hahaha!"
Xu Feifei slapped his hand away, took the water bottle, took a sip, and said, "Wait, I'll water it!"
"Hahaha, you've really opened my eyes!" Nangong Ye laughed even louder, bursting into laughter.
"Xu Feifei, I'm telling you..."
"Nangong Ye, your English teacher wants to see you." Lin Xi'er called from the doorway.
"Okay!" As Nangong Ye left, he glanced back at her and smiled again.
Xu Feifei had no interest in paying him any attention. She held the report card and stared at it intently, as if she wouldn't give up until she saw right through it.
He cried out in his heart, "This is not what I imagined!"
She picked up Lin Yuan's report card. Why was there such a huge gap between people? Over 700 points, first in the whole school. If this were her report card, she would truly bring glory to her ancestors; their graves would be emitting auspicious smoke. Perhaps all her ancestors would gather together and dance disco!
No, no, disco is from the 1960s, our ancestors didn't even know how to do it back then! Next time we go to worship, we should burn a beginner's guide to disco, that way they'll know how.
Xu Feifei couldn't help but laugh at this thought, but a glance at the test paper brought her back to reality. She needed to improve her grades first. Waaaaah~
When Lin Yuan returned from outside the classroom, she saw her listlessly slumped on the table, staring blankly at her report card.
"What's wrong?" Lin Yuan asked worriedly.
Xu Feifei put away her listless expression and became serious, sitting up straight and saying, "It's nothing. I was just thinking about how to divide your share equally among me."
"This..." Lin Yuan pretended to ponder for a moment, then smiled and said, "From now on, after class, after school, and during holidays, I'll tutor you for free!"
"Ah!" Xu Feifei stared at her in disbelief, utterly dejected, her body slowly slumping against her shoulder, muttering, "I just want something for nothing!"
Lin Yuan patted her head and said, "You reap what you sow!"
"Then I'll just leave it to fate. You can't force things!" Xu Feifei said coquettishly, nuzzling Lin Yuan's shoulder.
Lin Yuan smiled and said, "You're right!"
"Mmm!" Xu Feifei nodded vigorously, very certain of herself.
Then, pulling himself together, he looked at his test paper and resignedly revised his answers. When he encountered questions he couldn't answer, he would ask Lin Yuan for help, and then try to understand them.
As Xu Feifei was writing, a row of highlighters suddenly appeared in front of her. She looked up and saw the girl in front of her quickly turn around.
Xu Feifei looked at her with a puzzled expression, picked up the highlighter in front of her and examined it. It was the same row she had borrowed last time. Holding the Markley, she asked her, "Is this your pen?"
"Okay! It's yours!" After saying that, the girl turned her head away haughtily, but her eyes were secretly observing her reaction.
Xu Feifei looked at her in confusion, not understanding what had happened.
"Thank you! But I don't need it." Xu Feifei put down the highlighter and returned to her seat.
"You, you..." The girl turned around angrily, but couldn't utter another word for a long time. Then, she angrily put the highlighter on Xu Feifei's desk.
"Last time, didn't you say you wanted it? I'll give it to you now! Fine, I'll give it to you, don't give it back to me." After saying that, she turned around and left angrily.
Xu Feifei looked at her back, then at the highlighter on the table, and was at a loss for what to do.
"I never imagined Miss Gao had such a wonderful side!" Lu Ren said, picking up the highlighter from Xu Feifei's desk.
"Miss Gao?"
“Gao Anxuan. The Gao family is one of the nine great families, and she is their only daughter, so she is showered with love and affection. It's inevitable that she has a bit of a temper, but overall she's alright,” Zeng Hao added.
"Indeed, she has a somewhat spoiled personality. But she's rarely this kind to people," Lu Ren added from the side.
"Really?" Xu Feifei took the highlighter from Lu Ren, looked at it in her hand, and then said, "It looks pretty good to me."
Lin Yuan looked at the people gathered around Xu Feifei's desk and tapped the table with her pen cap, saying unhappily, "Feifei, do your homework."
Zeng Hao originally wanted to add something, but after his goddess tapped the table like that, he was too embarrassed to say anything.
Xu Feifei's attention was diverted back to the test paper. Looking at the dense text on the paper, she couldn't help but sigh, "Hmm."
Looking at Xu Feifei's miserable appearance, Zeng Hao suppressed a laugh and said, "Keep it up, I believe in you!"
"I believe in you too, keep it up!" Lu Ren encouraged Xu Feifei earnestly before leaving.
Just moments ago, everyone was gossiping, but now only Xu Feifei remained. Watching them leave, Xu Feifei exclaimed, "They've gone so fast!"
"Stop daydreaming, get writing." Lin Yuan tapped the table lightly with her pen, much lighter than before.
Xu Feifei resigned herself to her fate and buried herself in hard work. Some things simply can't be accomplished by hard work alone, like the third question in physics and math. Without Lin Yuan's help, she simply couldn't solve it; it was beyond her comprehension!
The exam papers on the table were covered in red writing. Compared to the last one, this one was a little better, but not by much.
Xu Feifei stared at it resentfully, then sighed deeply and said, "It seems my parents need to work harder to earn money, otherwise they won't be able to afford to donate the building!"
Lin Yuan took the test paper and looked at it. After a while, she said, "You've improved a bit since last time. Not bad."
"Really?" Xu Feifei's gloom vanished, and she looked at her with sparkling eyes.
"real."
Xu Feifei was overjoyed to receive the affirmation. What could be more gratifying than receiving recognition from Lin Yuan, the top student?
There definitely isn't any!
"If you keep this enthusiasm for learning, you'll do even better in the future. And with my help, your grades will improve even further, right?"
"right!"
"Wouldn't you be happy if your grades improved?"
"yes!"
"If your grades improve, your family won't have to donate the house, which would save you money, right? Does that make sense?"
“That makes sense!” Xu Feifei listened to Lin Yuan’s words, imagining herself getting a high score. Just thinking about it made her excited and she couldn’t help but feel excited.
"Okay, from today onwards I'll give you extra lessons, two extra hours every night." Lin Yuan continued to coax and persuade, finally revealing her ultimate goal.
Xu Feifei nodded at first, then shook her head violently, her smile instantly freezing as she wailed, "No! Studying is still too difficult for me, boohoo~"
Seeing that her brainwashing attempt had failed, Lin Yuan smiled helplessly and said, "It won't be difficult once you've learned it well. Learning will then become a joyful thing."
"Maybe," Xu Feifei sighed.
"Don't sigh and complain at such a young age, be full of energy!"
"You're right! Xu Feifei, keep it up! You're the best!" Xu Feifei laughed after saying this, and Lu Xiao Kui imitated her, hahaha.
Lin Yuan didn't know what she was laughing at, but after seeing her laugh, she laughed along with her.
Xu Feifei endured a difficult month under the torment of studying.
After another monthly exam, Xu Feifei was so exhausted she could barely stand. It wasn't that she studied incredibly hard, but she had finally managed to finish a test paper. The grade wasn't important; what mattered was her sincerity!
That night, Xu Feifei lay on the sofa in Lin Yuan's room, her right hand holding her phone and scrolling rapidly, her eyes intently focused on the screen.
Lin Yuan noticed that she had been using her phone ever since she came back, and upon closer inspection, she discovered that she was browsing Taobao.
An hour later, Lin Yuan took another closer look and found that she was still looking at Taobao.
"Feifei, what are you looking at?" Lin Yuan asked curiously.
"I'm looking at something! June 18th is coming soon, I need to start looking around in advance," Xu Feifei replied without looking up.
"What are you looking at?"
"I'm looking at sanitary napkins now. By the way, Lin Yuan, do you think we should buy sanitary napkins, liquid sanitary napkins, or tampons? I've seen a lot of hype surrounding tampons lately, but I haven't tried them before and I'm afraid of making a bad purchase. What do you think?"
Lin Yuan looked embarrassed, her eyes darting around, unsure how to react.
