Chapter 52
Lin Yuan woke up before her alarm clock went off in the morning.
The first thing I did when I woke up was to turn my head and see Xu Feifei with one leg "imposingly" hanging on the blanket, her hands hugging the corner of the blanket, smiling sweetly as she slept soundly.
Hearing her laughter, Lin Yuan's lips curved into a slight smile. She reached for her phone by the bedside, checked the time—seven o'clock.
She pulled back the curtains a crack, and blinding light immediately streamed in. Lin Yuan squinted uncomfortably as she looked down; there was no one on the path.
It's Saturday today, and it's still early, so I can sleep a little longer.
When Lin Yuan woke up again, the alarm clock rang. She turned it off, checked her phone—nine o'clock—time to get up.
Looking at Xu Feifei again, she was already curled up in bed, showing her reluctance to get up.
Seeing this, Lin Yuan smiled helplessly. She didn't call her anymore, gently closed the door, and went back to her room to wash her teeth and face.
The door closed very quietly, almost silently.
But the moment the door closed, Xu Feifei was suddenly awakened. She hurriedly climbed out of bed, looked around, and found that Lin Yuan was no longer in her room.
After a few seconds of stunned silence, he quickly tidied himself up at twice the usual pace, changed his clothes, and rushed to Lin Yuan's place.
The two met the moment the door opened.
Lin Yuan looked at her with slight surprise, about to ask how she woke up.
"What a coincidence! I'm not late, am I?" Xu Feifei said first.
"No, I was just about to call you!"
"Shall we go have breakfast first, and then go find the aunt to check the surveillance footage?"
"Can."
Xu Feifei naturally took Lin Yuan's arm and they walked together into the restaurant.
This is truly a prestigious school! Every time Xu Feifei saw this dazzling array of food, that phrase would pop into her head.
It's Saturday, and it's past nine in the morning. The restaurant still has a wide variety of food. Apart from the limited-edition items that sell out, there's a full range of cakes, desserts, soups, noodles, steamed buns, and other snacks.
Aside from the high prices and long queues from Monday to Friday, Xu Feifei couldn't find any fault with the place. However, she had a black card, so the high price was no longer an issue, and queuing was just a minor matter.
Xu Feifei's legs wouldn't move when she saw the cake. She happily took a plate to put the cake in, and didn't forget to say, "Lin Yuan, you can choose your own breakfast. We'll meet at the usual place later."

Xu Feifei carefully selected cakes she hadn't tried before to put on her plate, thinking that such opportunities wouldn't be frequent in the future, and she wanted to try more new things. With this in mind, her plate was soon piled high, and she even took two bottles of fresh milk with her when she left.

Someone picked the exact same breakfast as her at the spot where she had just chosen hers. They turned back to watch her leave.
Xu Feifei stared at the plate in her hand and walked slowly. Lin Yuan stepped forward to help her carry it.
She quickly said, "Wait, I can do it myself. This is a bit unstable! Be careful it doesn't fall."
Lin Yuan caught it steadily and said, "Let go first, it won't fall!"
"good."
Xu Feifei carefully let go of Lin Yuan's hand, and Lin Yuan steadily took the cake without dropping it. She then strode to a seat by the window.
After Xu Feifei sat down, she glanced at Lin Yuan's plate and said, "Oh, why did you only take a plate of rice noodle rolls? What are you going to do if you get hungry later?"
"No, it won't happen." Lin Yuan smiled.
"Here, your milk! You're in your growth spurt, drinking more milk will help you grow taller! Even though you're already quite tall, you can still grow taller." Xu Feifei smiled and placed the milk next to her.
Lin Yuan did not refuse.
A while later, Xu Feifei finished eating and let out a burp. There were still three cakes left on her plate. She looked up at Lin Yuan, who took the plate from her table and ate them without any hesitation.
After seeing Lin Yuan finish eating, Xu Feifei giggled. She patted her stomach and said, "Are you full? Are you full?"
Lin Yuan handed her a tissue, wiped her mouth, nodded, and said, "Mmm."
"It's exactly ten o'clock now, let's go find Auntie!"
"good."
"Then send a message to your aunt now and tell us to come over now?"

When the two arrived at the dormitory management office, Xu Feifei was shocked to find that there was only the female lead inside!
"You're here!" Lin Xier greeted them happily.

"Auntie went out on something and asked me to take you to see the surveillance footage," Lin Xier explained.

"Follow me."
"Here you go, thank you for your trouble!" Xu Feifei handed the cake and milk to the female protagonist. She had bought these things on her way out of the restaurant, originally intending to thank the aunt for her help yesterday and for taking her to see the surveillance footage.
Lin Xier waved her hand in surprise and said, "Ah! No need to be so polite. This is my job, it's what I should do."
After being rejected, Xu Feifei awkwardly looked down at what she was holding, at a loss for what to do. Perhaps it was the oppressive aura of the female lead, but she felt strangely unable to interact with her in a normal way.
Lin Yuan sensed Xu Feifei's embarrassment and said, "Please accept it! It's just a small token of my appreciation."
“Yes, yes,” Xu Feifei chimed in.
Lin Xier looked at the two of them, took the cake and milk from their hands, and said very gratefully, "Thank you! Then I won't be polite!"
Lin Xier looked at the things in her hands and felt a warmth in her heart. It was one of the few acts of kindness she had encountered with her classmates at the prestigious school.
After seeing the female lead accept the things, Xu Feifei breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Then let's go to the monitoring room."
After putting down her things, Lin Xier said, "Okay, come with me."
The two followed Lin Xier to the monitoring room next to the dormitory management office. There were many computers in the monitoring room, and three people were on duty watching the monitors.
"Uncle Liu, good morning!"
Xu Feifei saw Lin Xier walk towards a security guard and greeted him familiarly.
"It's getting late! It's already past ten o'clock," Uncle Liu said with a smile.
"It's not even noon yet, that's still early! By the way, Uncle Liu, could you help me check the security camera footage on the second floor of this building?"
"It's been ready for a while now, just waiting for you to come. When would you like to see it?"
Lin Yuan and Lin Xi'er looked at Xu Feifei from the side, waiting for her answer.
Xu Feifei couldn't remember for a moment. After thinking for a long time, she said apologetically, "Uh... wait, I forgot. Let me check the chat history first!"
"Are you looking for our chat history?" Lin Yuan asked.

Just as Lin Yuan finished speaking, Xu Feifei happened to scroll to the chat history and saw that the time was 10:20. She looked at Lin Yuan in confusion, only to see that Lin Yuan was staring intently at the computer screen.
Uncle Liu also set the surveillance camera to 10:10 PM, which was positioned directly above Xu Feifei's room. At 10:10 PM, the hallway lights were on, but the room was empty.
A while later, the surveillance footage showed Xu Feifei carrying books back to her room from outside. After the door was locked, the outside was quiet and there was nothing unusual.
"Feifei, where did you go last night?" Lin Yuan asked, staring at the surveillance camera.
"Well..."
Xu Feifei hesitated for a moment, then looked at Lin Yuan and said, "I wanted to return the books last night, but the library was closed."
Seeing Lin Yuan nod without speaking, Xu Feifei turned her gaze back to the monitor. She knew the knocking was about to happen, because shortly after she returned, the doorbell rang.
Sure enough, the surveillance footage captured a person acting suspiciously and hurriedly entering the second floor. They were wearing a school uniform, had their hair down, and were completely covered up by a black baseball cap and a black mask.
"It's here! It's here!"
"What's happening?" Lin Yuan looked warily at every corner of the surveillance camera.
"The person who knocked on my door yesterday!" Xu Feifei watched as the person in the surveillance footage walked into her room and started knocking on her door, glancing back at her as he did so.
"Where is it?" Lin Yuan looked at the monitor with a serious expression, her brows furrowed.
“Yeah, why can’t I see it?” Lin Xi’er said as well.
"Yeah, am I getting presbyopia? I can't see anything at all," Uncle Liu said, leaning closer to the screen.
“Here he is!” Xu Feifei pointed to the person on the monitor, looking at them with confusion.
“No!” Lin Xi’er said, looking at the spot Xu Feifei was pointing to.
Uncle Liu echoed this sentiment.
Lin Yuan stared at Xu Feifei without saying a word, her expression solemn and her brows furrowed.
"ah?"
Xu Feifei saw them looking at her with puzzled expressions. Then she checked the security camera footage and saw that there was indeed someone staring intently at her door, glancing back as if someone was chasing her.
After knocking for a while, the girl quickly ran towards the stairs. Three minutes later, the elevator doors slowly opened, and the aunt stepped out. She opened the door to her apartment, and after exchanging a few words, Lin Yuan also ran up the stairs.
"Can't you see it?" Xu Feifei asked tentatively.
"I saw Auntie come in, and then Lin Yuan ran up the stairs," Lin Xier said.
Xu Feifei was startled, finding it unbelievable. Could it be that only she could see that person? Like the words on the bookmark—was it someone from the real world who came to find her?
Lin Yuan asked sternly, "Uncle Liu, can we re-encode the surveillance footage back to 10:10?"
"Okay, no problem!"
When Xu Feifei heard Lin Yuan's question, she looked over at Lin Yuan and found that Lin Yuan's brows had not relaxed and her expression was serious.
