outsiders
Xu Feifei turned around and saw a girl waving at her, calling out with a slightly exaggerated expression, "Feifei~"
The voice sounded strained and cloying, giving listeners an inexplicable sense of revulsion.
When she saw that Xu Feifei didn't walk towards her, her expression froze, and a hint of anger rose in her heart. But she suppressed it and walked towards Xu Feifei with a fake smile on her face.
"Feifei, why didn't you tell me you transferred schools?" she asked Xu Feifei as she walked over.
Xu Feifei looked at her heavy makeup, a thick layer that was even a bit cakey, her appearance clearly not befitting a high school student. Coupled with her arrogant questioning, it made her feel very uncomfortable.
Xu Feifei retorted without any politeness, "Who are you? Do I have to report everything I do to you?"
She was taken aback, probably not expecting Xu Feifei to say that, and said unhappily, "How could you say that to me? I was just worried about you."
"Don't worry about me, I'm perfectly fine!"
She threatened, "Don't you want to win over the Night Prince anymore?"
"Why do I need you to help me pursue him?" Xu Feifei didn't immediately realize who this Prince Ye was, but no matter who he was, she didn't need anyone's help in pursuing him.
She scoffed, "That's not what you said by the lake last week! You were practically begging me to help you!"
The lakeside? Could it be the time when she first transmigrated? I remember Gao Lan often nagging her in the hospital not to associate with those people from before.
Those people were just using her; they didn't treat her as a friend. Gao Lan didn't elaborate on what they used her for, but it certainly wasn't anything good.
It seemed that her falling into the lake might be related to her, especially considering her tone of voice. Xu Feifei mentally labeled her a "bad person."
"Oh! I don't need it now."
After saying that, he turned and left, leaving her alone on the spot.
She was completely bewildered by Xu Feifei's sudden change in attitude and stood there stunned. By the time she came to her senses, Xu Feifei had already gone into the dormitory building.
She hurried after her, but Xu Feifei had vanished. She grabbed a passerby tightly and demanded fiercely, "Do you know which dormitory Xu Feifei lives in?"
The man shook his head in fear, pulled his hand away from hers, and hurriedly left.
She grabbed a few more people and questioned them, but none of them could get information about Xu Feifei's dorm room. Suddenly, filled with rage, she glared at the elevator and gritted her teeth, saying, "Xu Feifei, you'll regret this!"
She stomped her foot and stormed off in a huff.
Xu Feifei returned to her dormitory and saw the closed door next door. She knocked and called out, "Lin Yuan, are you back?"
She knocked three times, but there was no response. She sighed and went back to her room.
The girl who had just picked a fight with her didn't seem to affect her mood. However, knowing that Lin Yuan hadn't returned yet made her feel a little down.
Xu Feifei lay on the sofa, staring blankly at the floor for a long time.
While lost in thought, his hands kept fidgeting with the carpet, pulling out strips of "tassels" from its edges.
Then, she kept changing the shape of the "tassel" in her hand, sometimes making a small tuft, and then taking it apart and smoothing it out. After a while, she made a small braid, and then took it apart and smoothed it out again.
They were having a great time. But as they played, they suddenly realized that the rug wasn't there when they came back at noon. Where did this rug come from?!
She sat bolt upright, staring intently at the blanket. Then she looked around the room; it had changed a lot since noon.
There are many more things now, such as cups, kettles, rugs, and so on. All the daily necessities are there, even things like nail clippers that are easily overlooked are kept in storage boxes.
Suddenly, footsteps sounded outside the door.
Xu Feifei ran to the door full of anticipation, opened it, and called out, "Lin Yuan, you..."
Upon recognizing the visitor, he abruptly stopped speaking and stared at the other person.
The person at the door was startled when she suddenly opened the door; the look of terror was still on their face.
Seeing this, Xu Feifei quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I thought it was my friend coming back!"
The man quickly waved his hand and said, "It's nothing!"
"My name is Xu Feifei, and I'm new here," Xu Feifei introduced herself.
Upon hearing her introduction, the man lowered his head and stammered, "Hello, I'm Su Huan."
After Xu Feifei finished speaking, she leaned against the wall and invited, "Would you like to come in and sit for a while?"
Su Huan fidgeted with her fingers awkwardly, lowered her head and whispered, "I have something to do."
Seeing her expression, Xu Feifei didn't press the matter. She smiled and said, "Okay, come again next time."
Su Huan nodded and quickly went upstairs with small, quick steps.
Xu Feifei watched her rush upstairs in a panic, feeling a bit strange. Why not take the stairs when there was an elevator? But she didn't think much of it. She glanced at the still-locked door next door and returned to her room, feeling dejected.
After taking a shower, she sat down at her desk. She opened the homework her teacher had assigned that day and looked at the questions in the textbook. Suddenly, she felt dizzy and lightheaded, and wanted to sleep.
It's just a fictional world anyway, so it's okay if we don't do anything, right? The real world is tiring enough, so we should take a good rest in this fictional world.
She used yesterday's reasons to convince herself again.
But Lin Yuan went home. Who will give her homework to copy tomorrow? Besides, Lin Yuan said she wouldn't do it again.
If you don't study today, you'll become trash tomorrow.
Thinking of this, she forced herself to stay awake and do her homework. She worked diligently until 11:30, but finally couldn't stay awake any longer. She groggily climbed into bed, pulled the covers over her head, and fell asleep.
The alarm clock rang in the morning, and Xu Feifei opened her sleepy eyes. The bright light was still on above her head; she had forgotten to turn it off yesterday because she was too tired. She lazily stretched and got up to brush her teeth.
Before leaving, I made a point of checking Lin Yuan's door again. I couldn't resist knocking, but there was still no response from inside.
Go to the restaurant to buy breakfast. Take two Chinese breakfasts and one Western breakfast.
Back in the classroom, there was still some time before morning reading, and there weren't many people in the classroom.
Xu Feifei took out yesterday's homework and started working on it while eating it. There was just too much homework, and too many things she didn't understand; she simply couldn't finish it.
As Nangong Ye passed by her, he jokingly remarked, "Woman, actually doing homework? That's rare."
Xu Feifei was already immune to his random nicknames and didn't feel anything. She casually handed him a breakfast from the table.
Nangong Ye held the breakfast, raised an eyebrow, and said with some dissatisfaction, "Why is it from the school cafeteria? Wasn't it made by Aunt Zhang?"
"I'm staying at a dormitory; the only option left is the school's accommodation."
Nangong Ye picked up the breakfast in his hand, looked at it, shrugged, and reluctantly accepted it. Suddenly remembering something, he said, "Didn't I ask you to bring me two portions yesterday?"
After he finished speaking, he picked up the last remaining breakfast on the table.
Seeing this, Xu Feifei quickly pulled him aside and said, "That portion is for Lin Yuan, not for you?"
"Lin Yuan's? Why didn't you say so earlier!"
"You have a good appetite, eating breakfast three times a day." Xu Feifei took the breakfast from his hand and muttered softly.
He wanted to bring two portions, but the female lead also brought one for him. He was eating for two people; I don't understand what he meant by that.
"What did you say?"
"I have to say, you have a really good appetite!" Xu Feifei said irritably.
"Of course!" Nangong Ye said, then swaggered back to his seat.
Xu Feifei buried herself in her homework again and finally finished it just one minute before morning reading.
The moment the bell rang, Zeng Hao arrived, just in time. Entering the classroom, panting, he thankfully told Xu Feifei, "I almost missed it!"
"I forgot to set my alarm yesterday, so it didn't go off this morning and I slept in. Luckily, my mom came upstairs to wake me up. Otherwise, I would definitely have skipped class and slept until noon."
Seeing his disheveled appearance, Xu Feifei laughed and said, "Next time, check your alarm clock before going to bed."
"Once bitten, twice shy! I'll definitely check again in the future!" Zeng Hao sat down in his chair and took a deep breath.
Lin Yuan still hadn't returned after morning reading ended. The breakfast on the table had slowly cooled down.
Xu Feifei looked out the window at the forest path, where the leaves of the trees were rustling gently in the wind. There were only one or two teachers walking along the path, and she didn't see Lin Yuan.
Zeng Hao moved closer to the window and followed Xu Feifei's gaze. "What are you looking at?"
Xu Feifei shook her head and said, "I didn't watch anything. There's a basketball game today, how are your preparations going?"
"Excellent, we're determined to win!"
"You're so confident! I'll come over this afternoon to cheer you on!"
Zeng Hao shifted his gaze to the breakfast on her table, feigning a pitiful look, "Okay, but before that, could you please give my stomach a boost? I didn't eat breakfast this morning!"
Xu Feifei hesitated for a moment, then smiled and said, "Take it!"
Zeng Hao took it without hesitation and started eating as if he were starving, his cheeks bulging as he mumbled, "Thanks!"
"Don't mention it! Eat and drink well now so you'll have more energy to play ball this afternoon. Maybe I'll even get to see your dashing and handsome figure!" Xu Feifei joked.
Zeng Hao was very satisfied with her words and said proudly, "Of course, I'll show you another handsome me then."
"Mouse, homework!" the math class representative shouted at Zeng Hao.
"Coming right now!"
Xu Feifei was happy to see that he was very warm towards her. She looked out the window again and saw that there were many more students than before, probably all going to the supermarket to buy breakfast.
Xu Feifei tried hard to find Lin Yuan in the crowd, but unfortunately she found nothing.
She returned to her seat with a sigh, secretly picked up her phone, and texted, "Around when are you going back to school?"
"Can you go back today?"
Will you go back to school on the weekend?
"You've already had breakfast. I'll buy you another one when you get back?"
"Want to buy it?"
......
She sent a bunch of emojis, bombarding him with messages. Nothing more than wanting Lin Yuan to see her messages as soon as possible and reply quickly.
