Starry Sky Exhibition

Starry Sky Exhibition

Xu Feifei thought for a while and then replied to him: Sure, when is that?

Seeing that her attention had returned to her phone, Lin Yuan glanced at the message and saw that Zhang Jiayi had asked her out privately, and she had even agreed. A surge of anger welled up inside her, but she forced herself to suppress it, determined not to get angry.

Zhang Jiayi: I'll come to see you at 7 PM on Monday, okay?

Xu Feifei: Okay, no problem.

After replying, Xu Feifei placed her phone on the table and looked directly at Lin Yuan. However, she was startled by Lin Yuan's lowered posture and the invisible pressure in the air, and stared blankly at her.

Lin Yuan slightly withdrew, trying her best to control herself so that she would not feel any discomfort.

The air was thick and heavy, filled with a strange atmosphere. The room was so quiet at night that the faint sound of the air conditioner seemed particularly jarring.

"Feifei, what do you think of him?" Lin Yuan broke the silence first, trying to make her voice as gentle as possible.

"Hmm—" Xu Feifei drawled, her eyes darting around in their sockets as she considered how to phrase her words in a way that would be easier for Lin Yuan to understand.

"Actually, I think Zhang Jiayi is a really good person. He even saved me at East Lake last week. If he hadn't saved me in time, I probably would have been dead," Xu Feifei said half-jokingly.

Although Xu Feifei's words were a joke, they deeply stung Lin Yuan's heart, and a trace of pain flashed in her eyes. She said sadly, "It's all my fault. If I had come earlier, or if I hadn't participated in that competition, you would have been fine."

"How can you blame me? I did it all by myself. It's my fault for not being careful enough, it has nothing to do with you."

Lin Yuan turned her head away, lowered her head and remained silent, the sorrow in her eyes not fading in the slightest.

Seeing her looking so pitiful, Xu Feifei couldn't bear it. So she hugged her and said, "Look, I'm fine now, aren't I? I'm alright."

During this close embrace, Lin Yuan smelled the fragrance of Xu Feifei's shower gel on her neck, that unique body scent.

Lin Yuan was caught off guard by the sudden embrace and momentarily forgot to react; a blush crept onto her ears. All her previous sadness vanished without a trace.

A few seconds later, Xu Feifei patted her back and stepped back. Looking her in the eyes, she said, "Lin Yuan, you are the most important person to me in this world! Didn't we say that no matter how the future changes, you will always be the most important person to me?"

Lin Yuan looked into her bright eyes and, without realizing it, fell for her, asking, "Really?"

Xu Feifei smiled and said, "It's definitely true!"

After receiving confirmation, Lin Yuan stopped asking about Zhang Jiayi. Xu Feifei also stopped bringing up the topic and instead pulled Lin Yuan aside to explain the problem to her.

Saturday was drawing closer, and the time she had arranged to meet that girl was fast approaching. Xu Feifei's anxiety grew, a nervousness stemming from the uncertainty of the unknown.

However, amidst the tension, there was also a hint of excitement. If they could figure things out this time, perhaps they could return to the real world.

With one class left before Friday's end of school, Xu Feifei couldn't help but start counting down the time, calculating when school would end. She looked around happily, her eyes darting about aimlessly.

After Xu Feifei's nth moment of distraction, Lin Yuan couldn't help but call out, "Feifei?"

"What's wrong?" Xu Feifei snapped out of her reverie and looked at Lin Yuan.

Why are you so excited during these afternoon classes? Is something good happening?

Xu Feifei grinned at Lin Yuan and said, "Oh? No, no, isn't it almost time for school to end? It's finally holiday time, how can I not be happy! It's the most anticipated moment of the week."

Lin Yuan smiled helplessly, "Then you have to listen to the lectures carefully."

"Okay!" Xu Feifei said, then straightened her back, placed her hands on the table, and looked at the teacher with her head held high.

After a while, she leaned slightly forward and quietly asked Lin Yuan, "How was it? Was I serious?"

Seeing this, Lin Yuan tried her best to lower the corners of her mouth and said, "Very good, keep it up!"

"good!"

Five minutes later, Xu Feifei gave up; the position was too tiring. Her back ached, her neck ached, and her entire back was stiff.

Xu Feifei twisted her waist and neck, and she could hear the crisp sound of bones breaking. She couldn't lie down during class, so she had to prop herself up with her hands.

"What's wrong? Not going to keep it up?" Lin Yuan's lips curled up.

"No, this posture is too difficult to maintain. I think as long as I can understand the content of the class, the posture doesn't matter."

Lin Yuan smiled helplessly, "Do you need me to give you a massage?"

Xu Feifei glanced at the teacher and noticed that the teacher was looking at her. She immediately sat up straight and whispered, "No, the teacher is watching from up there!"

After seeing her sit up straight, the teacher looked away and continued the lesson. Having been stared at like that, Xu Feifei dared not slack off and obediently kept up with the teacher's pace.

As soon as the bell rang and the teacher announced the end of get out of class, the class immediately erupted in excitement, with some students rushing out of the classroom the instant the teacher made the announcement.

Xu Feifei cheered along, happily exclaiming, "School's out! School's out!"

"Do you have any plans to go anywhere tonight?" Lin Yuan asked.

Xu Feifei shook her head.

"Do you want to go play?"

Upon hearing this, Xu Feifei excitedly asked, "Where are we going?"

Lin Yuan thought for a moment and said, "How about we go see the starry sky exhibition? The art museum is having it this week."

"A starry sky exhibition? Great! I've never seen one before. When are we going? Shall we go now?"

Lin Yuan smiled indulgently and said, "That's fine. Let's go out for dinner and then go see the exhibition."

"Great! Let's head out for lunch now!"

"What would you like to eat? Let's reserve a table first, then take a taxi and head out."

"Anything's fine with me, I don't care what I eat." Xu Feifei's mind was completely occupied with the Starry Sky Exhibition, and she had no interest in anything else. What could be more important than having fun on the weekend?

"Okay, let me take a look first. How about this one?" Lin Yuan handed her phone to Xu Feifei, gesturing for her to take a look.

Xu Feifei leaned closer and took a closer look; it was a Chinese restaurant. She swiped through the pinned picture, saying, "It looks good! It looks delicious."

"Okay, you pack your things first, I'll take a taxi."

"I only need to bring one person with me, let's go!" Xu Feifei said with a smile, pushing Lin Yuan out the door.

It's dismissal time, and there are many students on the way out of the school gate. There are many vehicles at the gate, but thankfully there is no congestion, and they are all driving in an orderly manner.

After having dinner, the two set off for the art museum. It was already past 7:20 when they arrived; the early summer night in City A was just beginning to fall.

A few streaks of sunset lingered on the horizon, their crimson afterglow casting a shadowy light on the sky. Because it was Friday after school, a long line was forming outside the art museum.

Xu Feifei pulled Lin Yuan to the back of the line, waiting for the staff to check their tickets and let them in.

While queuing, I happened to see a girl in front of me touching up her makeup with a mirror. She was wearing a white dress and her hair was slightly curled and loose. She looked very pretty.

So he whispered excitedly in Lin Yuan's ear, "Lin Yuan, that girl is so pretty!"

Lin Yuan looked in the direction Xu Feifei pointed, glanced at it, and said nothing.

Seeing that he didn't react, Xu Feifei continued to ask, "Does it look good?"

"Hmm, I don't know how to say it."

Why?

"I'm nearsighted, so I can't see clearly."

Xu Feifei asked with some doubt, "Really? I've never seen you wear glasses in class?"

"You can understand just by listening; the teacher's lessons aren't difficult."

Upon hearing this, Xu Feifei was deeply impressed and gave a thumbs up, exclaiming, "Amazing! No wonder you're a top student!"

Lin Yuan smiled but didn't say anything.

Xu Feifei's gaze continued to explore ahead, noticing that most of the people at the art gallery were girls, and each of them was dressed very elegantly. She looked down at her school uniform, checking her appearance with her phone's camera.

"Lin Yuan, have you noticed how well the girls in front of us are dressed? Don't we look too casual in our school uniforms?"

No, you look good in anything.

Hearing this, Xu Feifei happily took Lin Yuan's hand and complimented her, "You're very pretty too. I remember you were our school beauty! Right?"

Upon hearing the words "school beauty," Lin Yuan's face darkened, and she turned her head away, saying, "No, you're mistaken."

"Huh? Isn't that right? I've often heard Zeng Hao mention that you're the school beauty."

Xu Feifei remembered that Zeng Hao often whispered in her ear that Lin Yuan was the school beauty and regarded Lin Yuan as his goddess.

Lin Yuan's face darkened even more. "No, he's just talking nonsense."

"Hello, please show me your receipt," the staff member in front of Xu Feifei said.

Xu Feifei turned around in surprise and found that she had already reached the ticket gate.

"There are two of us." Lin Yuan handed the two tickets to the staff member.

After taking the tickets, the staff member tore off the ticket stub and said to Lin Yuan, "Alright, you can go in now."

"Let's go!" Xu Feifei took Lin Yuan's hand and entered the art museum. Following the signs inside, they arrived at the second floor and then followed the labels on the ground and the flow of people to a semi-circular entrance with the words "Starry Sky Exhibition Entrance" written next to it.

Long, bright lights hung at the entrance, forming a curtain of light. People were taking photos and checking in at the entrance. Curious, Xu Feifei lifted the curtain and went inside.

"Wow!" Xu Feifei couldn't help but exclaim as soon as she went in.

The moment I stepped inside, I noticed the lighting had dimmed considerably, and numerous lights hung overhead, resembling a starry summer sky. Mirrors lined both sides of the corridor, effectively expanding the field of vision.

The entrance was crowded, so it was a bit cramped. Xu Feifei felt embarrassed to linger there, so she held Lin Yuan's hand as they walked and said, "You have to hold my hand tightly, otherwise we might get separated and not be able to find each other."

Lin Yuan tightened her grip on his hand and whispered, "No, I won't. No matter where you are, I will find you."

The sound was drowned out by the noise of the crowd around her, and Xu Feifei didn't hear what Lin Yuan was saying as she tried to push her way forward.
