Monthly Exam
The two consecutive days of exams were a bit overwhelming for Xu Feifei; the exam papers were difficult, to say the least. The most devastating part was that the exams were in Class S, which only had ten students but two proctors.
The teachers sat one in front of the other, occasionally walking around with a smile on their faces. Whenever you made eye contact with a teacher, they would look at you with a kind smile, and you could only smile awkwardly and quickly lower your head to write your test paper.
The atmosphere sent a chill down her spine, and she felt immense pressure. Stealing a glance at the male lead, she saw him calmly resting his chin on his hand, staring blankly at the building across the street.
The teacher walked past him with a kind smile, but he stared straight ahead without blinking.
Some of the other students were answering the questions diligently, some were sleeping, and some were rolling dice...
Xu Feifei was truly shocked by the dice-rolling incident. She never imagined that in this Mary Sue world, someone would actually use dice for an exam. And when the dice fell, the teacher kindly picked them up and returned them to the student, secretly turning the dice to reveal the numbers!
Indeed, in Mary Sue's world, as long as you have money and power, you can really break the school rules.
She'd tried rolling dice before, only this time with an eraser instead. Personally tested, this method doesn't work! It's purely a matter of luck! This isn't a method for someone as unlucky as her to use carelessly.
After finishing her last English exam, Xu Feifei handed in her paper and immediately got up and ran away.
Nangong Ye grabbed her arm, asking, "Why are you running so fast?"
"Let's eat! Let go of me, we're going to be late!" Xu Feifei tried to pull away from Nangong Ye's hand, preparing to run away again.
"Why are you running so fast? I saw you going out to eat with Lin Yuan after your exams these past two days, didn't I?" Nangong Ye's hand still didn't let go.
Xu Feifei struggled in vain. Hearing the commotion outside the classroom, she knew she was too late and said dejectedly, "Yeah! What, you want to eat with us?"
Nangong Ye raised an eyebrow and said, "Since you've invited me, let's go!"
Xu Feifei froze on the spot upon hearing his words. What was wrong with this male lead? What did he mean by that? Was this a new Mary Sue trope?
"Come on! Why did you stop? You were in such a hurry just now!"
Hearing his rather irritating voice, Xu Feifei sighed and walked over, saying, "We just finished collecting papers. At this hour, everyone's crammed together!"
"How could that be? There's only one S class on this floor, how could it be crowded!" Nangong Ye shrugged and said.
"Big brother, this is the seventh floor! There are six more floors below the seventh floor!" Xu Feifei retorted, dissatisfied.
When the two reached the sixth floor, sure enough, the entrance to the sixth floor was blocked.
Xu Feifei walked to the railing and searched for Lin Yuan's figure in Building A. She saw Lin Yuan waiting for her downstairs in Building B.
Just then, Lin Yuan looked up at the building. Xu Feifei quickly waved her hand and gestured that she would come down later.
"Xu Feifei, what are you waving your hand for?" Nangong Ye followed her gaze with a puzzled look and found that Lin Yuan was also there.
Seeing this, Nangong Ye also waved his hand.
Upon seeing him, Lin Yuan turned and walked back downstairs. Slightly embarrassed, she withdrew her hand, looked at the crowded stairwell, and said impatiently, "Why are there so many people!"
"After the exam, it was lunchtime, of course it was crowded! Otherwise, why do you think I walked so fast!"
Looking at the crowded people, Nangong Ye clicked his tongue in annoyance and turned his head away in dissatisfaction.
"Why doesn't this elite school have an elevator?" Xu Feifei muttered a complaint under her breath.
The school in this Mary Sue world doesn't even have elevators, and the prestigious S class is on the top floor. Isn't this going to kill these aristocratic kids with climbing? This setting is a bit off!
"You're right! How come I never noticed that before! I'll ask the school to install an elevator right now!" Upon hearing her complaint, Nangong Ye picked up his phone and made a call.
"Hey, Principal, I'd like to install elevators in every school building. What do you think?"
Xu Feifei's eyes lit up when she heard about installing an elevator. No wonder he's the male lead—a man of action!
"Okay! Hurry up, money's no problem!"
"Okay, okay, that's settled then!" Nangong Ye said, then put away his phone.
"Amazing!" Xu Feifei exclaimed in admiration.
"So what? My family invested in this school! And you're not bad either. When your family got you in, they had already built a teaching building and a library."
Xu Feifei had heard Nangong Ye mention this before, but she didn't really understand it. Watching it, however, made her feel as if she were actually there, experiencing the allure of money firsthand.
"Well, I'm pretty awesome too, hahaha~"
Nangong Ye glanced at her, "What's the big deal!"
After glancing at the stairwell again, the crowd finally went down, so they said, "Let's go!" But when the two reached the fifth floor, well, it was still blocked.
"What the hell! Why are there still so many people!" Nangong Ye's patience was gradually worn down by the crowded people.
"Isn't this normal? Didn't you have just as many people after your exams before?" Xu Feifei comforted her from the side.
"I don't know, I always hand in my paper early and leave, I don't care about all that!"
"Leave your paper early? Have you finished writing?"
"I've written down everything I know, and left the rest blank."
Xu Feifei exclaimed in surprise, "Leaving it blank? I think you might as well write something random! At least you'd get some sympathy points."
Whenever I encounter a question I don't know how to answer, for humanities subjects, I just make something up. For science subjects, I write down a few formulas from the textbook. As long as I have enough time, I will never leave any questions blank.
For humanities subjects, the teacher might give a sympathetic grade. For science subjects, it's purely a matter of luck.
"How many points can you get for sympathy? Just one point, and you're killing a bunch of brain cells?" Nangong Ye said with a disdainful look.
“Even one point is still a point, don’t underestimate it. The college entrance exam is like a battle between thousands of soldiers crossing a single-plank bridge, one point can be the death of many people!” Xu Feifei retorted.
"College entrance exam? Oh! My parents have already arranged everything for me. The college entrance exam is just a formality!" Nangong Ye said casually.
"It's open, let's go!" Nangong Ye said and went downstairs.
Xu Feifei was stunned by what he had just said. She had forgotten that the man in front of her was the male lead and that she was in a Mary Sue world. How could she possibly use ordinary people's thinking to judge the problem?
"Xu Feifei, are you coming or not?" Nangong Ye asked, seeing that she was still standing there motionless.
"Oh!" Xu Feifei quickly followed.
Since we can't think of this method using ordinary thinking, then...
"Next time let's take a helicopter and fly right downstairs, that would be so cool!"
Xu Feifei imagined the S-class examinees, a group of them dressed in all black, wearing cool oversized sunglasses, pulling a lever with one hand, descending from the sky, they would definitely be incredibly cool and awesome, gaining a large number of female and male fans.
Nangong Ye rolled his eyes at her and said, "Helicopters are so noisy! And it's hard to stop them."
"Then we'll ask the school to install a slide that lets you slide down from the seventh floor, like an emergency exit on an airplane."
“Xu Feifei, I’ve noticed that you’re thinking about these unrealistic ideas all the time. Where would we put them downstairs? Disposable supplies are also very expensive.”
"ah?!"
Why are you even considering funding? Isn't it supposed to be all about being cool? Is this still a Mary Sue world?
When we got to the first floor, we were almost the last one there.
She walked up to Lin Yuan with an apologetic look and said, "I'm so sorry, there were too many people, and I couldn't get down!"
"It's alright, let's go!"
Lin Yuan walked forward, and Xu Feifei followed, taking her arm and saying, "Let's go!"
Nangong Ye naturally followed behind.
When they were halfway there, Lin Yuan asked Nangong Ye, "Why are you still following us?"
"We'll have dinner together in a bit, won't we?" Nangong Ye glanced at Xu Feifei and gestured with his chin.
Lin Yuan frowned and looked at her with a puzzled expression.
Xu Feifei looked at Lin Yuan with a conflicted expression, then at Nangong Ye, unsure of what to say.
Just as she was figuring out what to say, Lin Yuan's phone rang.
Lin Yuan glanced at the incoming call notification on her phone screen, her face immediately darkening. She took the phone and walked aside to answer the call.
Xu Feifei and Nangong Ye stood still, obediently waiting for her to return.
After a long while, Lin Yuan hung up the phone. Upon returning, she said, "You guys go eat, I have something to do, I'm leaving now!"
You could sense the tense atmosphere just from the tone of his voice; the whole atmosphere was starting to feel off.
Xu Feifei quickly asked, "What happened? What's wrong?"
Lin Yuan suppressed her anger and said, "It's nothing, just an emergency at home. I'll take care of it when I get back. I'm leaving now." With that, she hurried out of the school.
"Hey!" Nangong Ye wanted to follow, but Xu Feifei grabbed him.
"This is Lin Yuan's family's private matter, and it's not appropriate for us outsiders to interfere!"
Nangong Ye watched Lin Yuan's departing figure, hesitated for a moment, then chuckled and said, "That's true!"
"But don't you care about her? She's so angry."
"Of course I care! But given Lin Yuan's personality, if she doesn't want to talk about it, it's best not to interfere too much. I can only help her if she tells me herself!"
"Ha, that's true! When will we ever see that!" Nangong Ye said disdainfully.
"What do you mean?" Xu Feifei felt annoyed when she heard the sarcastic tone in the voice.
"It's nothing! I was just making fun of myself! If there's nothing else, I'll be going!" After saying this, Nangong Ye turned around and left alone.
Xu Feifei watched the male lead's departing figure, and in the blink of an eye, she was all alone.
