"Jiayi, I'm sorry."
Upon hearing the words "I'm sorry," Zhang Jiayi's bright eyes dimmed, and his tightly clenched hands fell limply to his sides. He didn't want to hear anything more; the ending was sealed by those three words.
Neither of the two people in the pavilion spoke. It was a rare fine day, but there was little wind.
Seeing his dejected expression, Xu Feifei quickly comforted him, "We can be good friends in the future. If not, being good classmates is no problem."
Zhang Jiayi forced a smile and said, "It's okay. I knew this would be the ending, but I still wanted to try."
Xu Feifei stood beside him, silently watching him, unsure of what to say.
She hesitated for a long time before saying, "After you go to university, you will meet a girl who is more suitable for you, and then the two of you will fall in love and be together smoothly."
"Why university? Are you rejecting me because you're still in high school? I can wait until you go to university."

He walked towards the railing, leaned over it, and took out a bouquet of roses. He turned around, waved the flowers in his hand at her, and walked up to her, saying, "These are the flowers you didn't accept last time. Can I accept them this time? They're for you as a friend."
Xu Feifei stared in surprise at the flowers in front of her, which were wrapped in black, just like last time, and contained red roses.

Zhang Jia turned around and saw Lin Yuan standing behind him. He said, "Lin Yuan? Are you guys going to eat together later? How about the three of you go together? It's on me!"

Before Xu Feifei could finish speaking, Lin Yuan interrupted her, saying, "Feifei, I've already booked a spot. Let's go now."

Before leaving, Zhang Jiayi couldn't help but say to Xu Feifei, "Feifei, if you ever develop a little bit of a crush on me, remember to tell me! I want to see if I still have a chance."
Lin Yuan pulled Xu Feifei's hand and walked faster, coldly snorting, "You don't have that chance anymore."

Xu Feifei looked back at the bouquet of flowers. Taking it with her to dinner would indeed be a burden and very conspicuous. Walking around the school would definitely attract attention.

Seeing that her phone hadn't been answered for a long time and her messages hadn't been replied to, Xu Feifei went back to East Lake to look for her. She walked stealthily and cautiously the whole way, desperately hoping not to run into Zhang Jiayi, otherwise the scene would definitely be very awkward.
After arriving at East Lake and confirming that Zhang Jiayi had left, Xu Feifei finally felt relieved. She ran to the place where Su Huan had been secretly observing her, but couldn't find her.
She wandered around the area near the pavilion but couldn't find her. She checked her phone but there was no reply from Su Huan.
Helpless, Xu Feifei searched the library and restaurant again but couldn't find her. This was really strange. Could she have disappeared? Or did Su Huan abandon her and go back home when Zhang Jiayi confessed his feelings?
Xu Feifei's phone rang, and she saw that Su Huan had sent her a message: "Something has come up on my end, and I need to leave school for a while."
Seeing the message Su Huan sent her, her panicked heart finally calmed down, and she breathed a sigh of relief. She asked, "What's up? Weren't we supposed to have dinner together tonight?"
The message wasn't replied to immediately, but several minutes later: "Something happened suddenly, I'll talk to you later, we won't be eating together tonight."
Xu Feifei saw the message and thought, "That's good. I won't be talked about tonight. I've escaped this lesson for now."
After getting in touch with Su Huan, the tension in her mind eased, and she suddenly felt hungry. Looking at her phone, she realized it was almost eight o'clock; she had been trying to find Su Huan for over an hour.
Go up to the fifth floor of the restaurant, randomly picked out a few dishes to pack up, and sent a message to Lin Yuan on the way back: I'm on my way back now. I bought Longjing shrimp, sweet and sour pork ribs, and morel mushroom chicken soup.
After thinking for a moment, I sent another message: Should we eat at your place or at mine?
