Lu Zhili went back and retrieved the two plastic buckets.
An Wan opened a hole in the fishing net, and a large number of fish and shrimp rushed out of the hole, like water being released from a reservoir.
"Wow--"
Seeing so many fish and shrimp, her mind conjured up images of steamed fish, braised shrimp, and pan-fried small fish.
"Little sister, here's your bucket." Lu Zhili handed her a pink plastic bucket.
He wanted the blue plastic bucket, but girls seem to prefer pink, so he couldn't take it from his sister.
"Fifth Brother, I'll count to three, and when I reach three, I'll begin."
"Okay! Little sister, let's get started! I can't wait."
"three--"
However, An Wan only counted them once before burying her head in the net and scooping the fish and shrimp out with her hands, putting them into a plastic bucket.
"Ah! Little sister, you're cheating!" Lu Zhili pouted and looked miserable, not expecting that she had learned this trick to bully him.
"If you slow down a little more, I'll win." An Wan looked up at him and smiled smugly.
Enraged, he yelled and quickly got back into the swing of things, reaching wickedly into the fishing net and grabbing a dozen or so large shrimp, which he then threw into the bucket.
The movements were swift, accurate, and ruthless.
They weren't afraid of getting their hands pricked by the shrimp's hard shell.
So Lu Zhili and An Wan had a competition to see who could grab the most fish and shrimp, and whoever did would be the winner.
"I'm the fastest! I'm the fastest!" he shouted as he scooped fish and shrimp into the plastic bucket.
"Big fish! Big fish!" He caught a three-pound fish from the net, his voice almost cracking with excitement.
An Wan smiled and shook her head. Children's happiness is so simple.
Let him play in the mud, and he'll be so happy even catching fish and shrimp.
"Fifth Brother, you're amazing!" An Wan liked to praise people; it was a skill she learned to please others in her previous life.
But this time she was sincere.
"Hehehe—" Lu Zhili laughed like a landlord's silly son, and even touched the back of his head with his dirty hands.
"Fifth Brother!" An Wan couldn't help but laugh when she saw his silly and cute appearance. "Hurry up and pack all this, then hurry home and take a shower. Look how dirty you are."
"Okay, thank you, little sister." Lu Zhili didn't know that he had gotten his hair dirty; he just thought that she was concerned about his dirty clothes.
Oh dear, this silly boy.
It made her both love and hate it.
An Wan sped up, and when she was almost full of fish and shrimp, she noticed that Lu Zhili's bucket was still a little short, so she slowed down and waited for him to finish filling the plastic bucket first.
"Hahaha—I filled it up, sister, I won!" Looking at the full plastic bucket, he stood up and jumped twice in excitement.
An Wan was truly impressed by him; he jumped up in excitement and became quite smug.
"Yes, yes, yes! You won, so you can eat two extra bowls of rice as a reward." Silly boy!
Hahaha--
She chuckled inwardly, not daring to laugh at him openly.
He's not so stupid as to not understand at all.
If he gets angry, he'll be hard to appease.
"Just two bowls of rice as a reward?" Lu Zhili pouted, finding his sister's words rather strange.
He was already eating two big bowls of rice, how could he possibly eat two more?
An Wan picked up all the remaining fish and shrimp from the fishing net and put them into the plastic bucket, leaving nothing behind.
It filled the bucket perfectly, so I put the lid on it.
"Fifth Brother, hurry home! Hurry up!" Seeing that he was still lost in thought, An Wan gently kicked him with her foot.
"Ah! Oh~" Lu Zhili, who had come to her senses, still looked bewildered.
But he obediently picked up a plastic bucket, intending to hide it and wait for him to come back for it a second time.
I couldn't carry two plastic buckets and a fishing net by myself.
"Fifth Brother, don't leave it there. You take one bucket and the fishing net, and I'll take the other bucket. Let's hurry back." An Wan pressed his hand down.
"Little sister, you can't carry it, it will tire you out." Mom and her fourth brother both said that he was the eldest brother and had to take good care of his little sister, so they couldn't let her carry the bucket back.
And my younger sister is so thin, she needs to be protected.
