Chapter 337 Responding to Each Move, Dealing with Every Struggle

Upon hearing this news, Lu Zhili was the most agitated and furious.

He pouted, his face clearly saying "I'm not happy," and stomped his foot, causing the ground to shake.

"What are they doing here? And why are they in such a hurry to get to the villa? Do they want to move in and never leave?"

Lu Yanshu gave him a thumbs up. "Fifth Brother, you've become smarter. You weren't stupid after all."

"Hmph! I've always been smart, okay?" Lu Zhili took advantage of the situation, becoming more and more smug with each compliment.

Having been praised by his family for the past six months, he couldn't stand being called "stupid" anymore.

To prove he wasn't stupid, he studied hard every day, hoping to register for junior high school by the end of next month.

To prove he's a normal person, the school will give him several test papers.

He must secretly excel and strive to amaze everyone.

An Wan pinched Lu Zhili's nose. "Why are you so angry? Look at the wrinkles around your eyes. Getting angry like this will only make you worse. You should save your energy for dealing with them. Be good, we're so smart, are we afraid we can't handle them?"

Lu Zhili's nose twitched as he gently pushed her hand away. "I'm not afraid of them at all. Watch how I drive them away."

Lu Jiayan frowned, his expression was solemn, and his thin lips were pressed into an emotionless arc.

He thought to himself: People! Once they have money, all sorts of flies and cockroaches will swarm to them.

They wished they could drink a mouthful of blood and eat a mouthful of flesh.

Now that Uncle Three is here, why worry that Uncle Four won't come?

An Wan felt sorry for Lu Jiayan when she saw his brows furrowed so much, and she knew what he was thinking.

They simply didn't want outsiders to disturb their peaceful and beautiful life.

She took his arm and shook it gently, her voice sweet and soft: "Brother Jiayan, it's okay. They're destined to come, there's no stopping them. We can only deal with whatever comes our way."

"Yes! Don't overthink it. Maybe your third uncle just came to visit the villa and will go back soon." Yunping's thoughts have always been simple and straightforward; she doesn't want to think the worst of others.

Because she was tired from working in the morning, and because Lu Miao's family was visiting, Yunping didn't prepare lunch today. Instead, she went to a hotel on the street and ordered two tables of food.

She took An Wan and her siblings to a hotel first, where they booked two tables with eight dishes and a soup.

At 12:30 pm, the waiters began serving the food to the tables.

By this time, An Wan and her siblings were so exhausted from waiting that they were slumped over the table, their eyes shining as they stared at the delicious food on the table, but they couldn't eat a single bite, and their stomachs were rumbling.

If Lu Miao's family didn't come, they didn't dare to touch their chopsticks to eat, for fear that Lu Xiaojing and her sisters would find out and use this as an excuse to attack them.

"Wanwan, are you very hungry?" Lu Jiayan felt sorry for her as he looked at her smacking her lips and looking longing.

Actually, they ate a little appetizer, such as smashed cucumber and pickled radish, but not much, just enough to taste.

An Wan nodded, blinking her big, watery, innocent, and pitiful eyes.

Even though he was already a cultivator at the Nascent Soul stage, he could abstain from grains and not eat worldly things.

But looking at the table full of meat and fish, as well as her favorite seafood, who could resist the temptation?

"Mom, let's eat first! Look how hungry my sister is." Not wanting to see An Wan go hungry, Lu Chunhe persuaded Yunping.

"Mom, please let us have a few bites! Look how hungry I am, my stomach is rumbling. How can you bear to do that?" Lu Zhili pouted and pleaded with Yunping.

"That's right! Let's eat first! Just don't make a mess of Uncle's food. We won't give them leftovers. Wanwan's face is pale from hunger."

Lu Jingming offered a word of advice, then secretly used his chopsticks to pick up a piece of fried pork rib and put it in Lu Zhili's bowl without Yunping noticing.

Waiting will allow Fifth Brother to bring the fried pork ribs to An Wan.

Lu Yanshu saw Lu Jingming's actions, but did not expose him.

He advised his mother, "Mom, if we eat any later, it might be bad for everyone's stomach. The doctor said we should eat on time. We ate too early this morning; it's been six hours since then."

Seeing An Wan's pitiful state, Yun Ping also felt distressed.

He stroked her head and said, "Wanwan, can we wait another five minutes? If your third uncle still isn't here, you kids can eat first. There are two tables of food. Just don't eat from their table and don't make a mess."

"Okay, I'll listen to Mom and wait five minutes." Wan'an nodded like a good child, raised her left hand, and looked at her newly bought watch.

Five minutes will pass quickly.

Although they couldn't eat lunch immediately, Lu Chun and his brothers endured it, as they had to save face for their mother; otherwise, they would be unworthy of being sons.

And if their father finds out, he'll probably give them a beating with rattan canes.

Lu Chunhe picked up his mobile phone and called Lu Jingxing again; this was the fifth call he had made.

On the other end of the phone, Lu Jingxing said that Lu Miao's family would only go back to the hotel for dinner after they had finished touring the old villa.

No matter how he tried to persuade them, they wouldn't leave.

And so, five minutes passed in the blink of an eye.

Having no other choice, Yunping let Anwan and her siblings start eating lunch.

She didn't eat a single bite.

"Mom, eat some tofu, it smells so good when it's fried." An Wan scooped a piece of fried tofu into Yunping's bowl with a spoon.

Lu Chun and his brothers each put a piece of meat in her bowl, silently urging her to eat, but showing their intentions through their actions.

Yunping felt helpless and also felt that she had made the children worry.

After a ten-second internal struggle, I still picked up my chopsticks and ate lunch.

It was almost one o'clock in the afternoon when An Wan finally waited for Lu Sen and Lu Miao's family to arrive.
