Prince Jing’s expression was grim, a hint of viciousness flashing in his eyes, "Butler Wang, go and see what the matter is?" Who dared to cause trouble on his wedding day?
Butler Wang promptly took the order and left.
Suddenly, a maid, panting heavily, ran over, nearly colliding full-on with Butler Wang.
Dodging to the side, Butler Wang reached out his right hand and steadied the maid, who was about to fall, "What’s the meaning of this panic?"
It appeared that Butler Wang was no ordinary man; Yang Mengchen’s eyes were profound, like the vast sea, with an imperceptible sharpness flickering within.
"Prince, something terrible has happened... It’s the princess... The Prince should see for himself..." The maid’s cheeks were red as rouge, her gaze flickering.
From the look of the maid, most people present could more or less guess what had happened, but the Eldest Princess had just become pregnant for little over two months, the Sixth Princess was unwell, and the other princesses were either married far away or too young. Besides, they had not heard of any princesses attending the marriage. Could it be that a princess had indeed arrived without their knowledge?
Suddenly thinking of something, Butler Wang’s face darkened. He approached Prince Jing and whispered a few words. Prince Jing’s expression changed slightly as he walked over to Princess Ning and the others, bowing with his hands clasped, "I must trouble Imperial Aunt and my sisters-in-law to help with this situation." His eyes glanced at Yang Mengchen, intentionally or otherwise.
Ignoring Prince Jing’s intense gaze, Yang Mengchen turned to look at Princess Ning and the others. Seeing Prince Jing’s expression, they understood it indeed involved a royal princess and couldn’t just stand by. Thus, Princess Ning (as the highest-ranking among them) ordered the maid to lead the way.
Yang Mengchen, Princess Kang, and several other noblewomen of the Royal family followed.
The rest of the crowd, though curious, knew it was not prudent to pry into Royal scandals, so they went to take their seats at the designated area.
Realizing this path led straight to the front courtyard guest rooms, Princess Ning and the others looked displeased, a guess already forming in their minds about which princess was in trouble.
Yang Mengchen and her servants remained composed. Long Jingxi and Long Yingtong were not present, so whatever troubles befell any princess had nothing to do with them. They might as well just watch the drama unfold.
As they just entered the front courtyard garden, they saw Grand Prince, Prince Ning, Long Xuanmo, and Long YiXuan, along with guards, walking towards them.
Catching sight of Lin Zheqi following Grand Prince, his brows faintly showing worry and concern, Yang Mengchen’s lips curved into a slight smile. Then, seeing Grand Prince’s somewhat pale face, she quickly stepped forward, took his pulse while holding his hand, and asked Long Xuanmo, "Imperial Uncle, what’s wrong?"
Upon hearing Yang Mengchen, Princess Ning and the others also noticed something was off with Grand Prince and their faces showed concern.
"Don’t worry, I’m fine," Grand Prince said with a reassuring smile, shaking his head.
Long Xuanmo replied gravely, "Imperial Uncle fainted earlier."
"Why didn’t Mo Yun immediately inform me?"
"Don’t blame Momo, it was I who didn’t allow them to find you," Grand Prince explained before Long Xuanmo could speak, "I might have just had a poor night’s sleep; with some rest back at home, I’ll be fine."
Withdrawing her hand, Yang Mengchen casually brushed her hair beside her cheek, making several discreet gestures towards a shadowy spot. She then took out a pill bottle, handed a pill to Grand Prince to take, and looked at him seriously.
"Imperial Uncle, I give you two choices. First, on your way back, you move into Chen Prince Mansion, where all your food and sleep schedules will be arranged by me, no objections allowed. Second, I tell the Emperor that your health is extremely, extremely poor and you need long-term rest, or your life may be in danger. You choose..."
"I choose the first option, let’s settle on that," Grand Prince hurriedly nodded, "Momo, you have no objections, right?"
Actually, he had transferred the command of the Yulin Army to the Emperor as soon as he returned to the capital, but the Emperor didn’t agree. He said the army should be commanded by Shao Mingyi, and the military power would still be in his hands. The Emperor was very reassured and even tasked him with overseeing affairs of the Ministry of Industry.
He wasn’t clinging to power for its own sake; it was just that his mansion was too lonely. Without something to occupy himself with, he truly didn’t know how he would spend his days and nights.
Now that Jiujiu had asked him to move to Chen Prince Mansion, it was out of concern and filial piety, and he was more than willing.
Everyone thought this was a good idea, this way Grand Prince wouldn’t have to be alone anymore, so they looked expectantly at Long Xuanmo.
Long Xuanmo said indifferently, "Internal affairs of the Prince Mansion are decided by Ah Jiu, I have no objections."
"Gao Jun, go back right away and get my belongings moved to Chen Prince Mansion," Grand Prince cheerfully ordered his trusted guard.
