Chapter 505: Pitiable people must have an abhorrent side_4

"Ah Jiu, who are those two boys?" Long Xuanmo asked his beloved wife in a low voice.

Yang Mengchen leaned close to Long Xuanmo’s ear and spoke softly. His eyes shone with comprehension upon seeing the two children, as he had not expected it to be true.

Suddenly seeing the couple, the Empress Dowager said with a smile, "Momo, Jiujiu, you’ve returned."

The two walked hand in hand to the Empress Dowager and the others, paid their respects, and then greeted everyone else in turn.

Grand Prince and the children stopped playing and came over. The two first paid their respects to the Grand Prince, and then the children did the same to them, while the two little boys and the woman knelt and kowtowed: "Madam Mu (Qing Yang) (Qing Yun) pays respects to Prince Chen, Princess Chen, long live Prince Chen, for thousands and thousands of years, long live Princess Chen, for thousands and thousands of years!"

"Rise," Long Xuanmo said as he raised his hand.

The mother and her two sons stood up.

Yang Mengchen sighed as she watched the two well-behaved children standing beside their mother, noting that Madam Mu had taught them well.

The children resumed their play, while the adults sipped tea and chatted.

It wasn’t until Uncle Heng came in person to invite them that everyone went to the Yang family’s home for lunch, where Hua Ziyu and the others who had gone to the factory also returned.

After lunch, Long Xuanmo and the men went to the study in a separate courtyard, while the Empress Dowager and others returned to another courtyard for a rest, Yang Mengchen and the ladies chatted about household matters.

"These are Sister Liu Ziyun’s Shuangshuang and Sister Lingyao’s Mingzhu, right? Come over here to your aunt." Yang Mengchen smiled and beckoned the two girls. As they approached, she took one in each arm and kissed their tender little faces, "You’re both like little fairies carved out of jade."

"Auntie is the great fairy," said the two children without shyness. They kissed Yang Mengchen’s cheeks on both sides, their eyes curving into crescent moons.

Yang Mengchen’s face bloomed into a smile, "Your mouths must be sweet from the candy you just ate; it seems auntie can’t get away with not giving you little gifts!" She teased while glancing at Hai Tang, who promptly brought over two brocade boxes. Yang Mengchen handed one to each girl, "Open them and see, do you like them?"

He Qiushuang looked at her own mother while Hao Mingzhu looked at the Sister of Penitentiary. Seeing nods from both, they accepted the brocade boxes and opened them to find a translucent Warm Jade each, adorned with an Auspicious knot.

"Thank you, Auntie, I really like it," the two said with sweet smiles.

Noticing that Hao Mingzhu looked to the Sister of Penitentiary instead of Nangong Lingyao, Yang Mengchen sighed inwardly, but her smile remained as she took out Warm Jades and put them on the two girls, "I’m glad you like them. When you both marry, auntie will prepare a dowry for you as well."

She hadn’t wanted to say this since the children were still so young, but she had heard that the Hao family was not pleased with Nangong Lingyao for having a daughter. Only considering the relationships with the Nangong family and the Yang family, as well as the Prince Mansion, they dared not express their displeasure openly. However, they treated Hao Mingzhu poorly behind the scenes. Nangong Lingyao also didn’t pay much attention to Hao Mingzhu, but thankfully the Nangong family had found a good Sister of Penitentiary for Hao Mingzhu, preventing her upbringing from being neglected.

The adults present understood the value of the Warm Jade and saw Yang Mengchen’s affection for the two children, along with her words, they all praised the good fortune of the children.

Lady Nangong was very moved, understanding that Jiujiu’s gesture was to support her daughter and granddaughter, which would surely make the Hao family think twice before neglecting them again.

The ladies from the Hao family looked embarrassed.

Nangong Lingyao showed a smug expression, then turned to Yang Mengchen and said, "Jiu... Princess, I have a favor to ask of you."
