Chapter 606: Crown Prince 247_2

Although Madam Du was a legitimate daughter, the Duke Pingxi Mansion had fallen into decay since her grandfather’s generation, and she had not received proper guidance. Things were slightly better when she had the Old Lady Marquis to take care of her, but after the Old Lady Marquis passed away, she turned the inner court into a complete mess, not only trying every means to help her natal family but also wanting her eldest son, Min Luozhan, to marry her own niece, Du Sihui, as his wife.

That would have been bad enough, but after Min Luozhan refused and then asked to marry the Imperial Older Sister, Madam Du actually harbored hatred against the Imperial Older Sister. She made things difficult for her everywhere and even tried her best to have Min Luozhan take Du Sihui as his formal wife. Now, she even indulged Du Sihui in plotting against the Imperial Older Sister and her children.

To this day, she had never seen a mother who would sabotage her own son like Madam Du. Does Madam Du really not understand that if anything were to happen to the Imperial Older Sister and her children, both the Mansion of Marquis Guangping and the Duke Pingxi Mansion would be implicated and punished? If that happened, how difficult would it be for Min Luozhan, caught in the middle?

An old saying goes that a muddled mistress will bring ruin to three generations.

Looking at the Mansion of Marquis Guangping, Min Luozhan was the only one taught by the Marquis himself. The rest of the legitimate and common sons and daughters, as well as the grandchildren, were either uneducated dandies or disgraceful characters unfit to be seen in public. It was only a matter of time before the Mansion of Marquis Guangping fell into ruins, which is no wonder Madam Du clung to Min Luozhan so desperately.

Madam Du could struggle all she wanted, but she would not be easily forgiven for harming her family.

Understanding that Yang Mengchen was extremely upset, Hai Tang and the others kept silent, but they were all thinking about how to vent their anger on that old hag.

After returning to the Prince Mansion, Yang Mengchen went back to her room to rest. The confrontation with Dugu Feng had drained much of her energy, and she felt quite tired now.

She did not know how long had passed when she felt a familiar scent beside her. Yang Mengchen opened her bleary eyes to see Long Xuanmo, "You’re back. What time is it now?"

"You Hour," Long Xuanmo said softly, drawing her into his embrace.

Snuggling into the warmth of Long Xuanmo’s arms, Yang Mengchen murmured, "It’s already so late, and Hai Tang and the others didn’t wake me up. I didn’t even know you were back."

"I didn’t have them announce my arrival," Long Xuanmo kissed her forehead. "Didn’t I tell you to rest well at home? Why did you leave the mansion again?"

"I went out to take care of a little matter," she reached into the bag beside her pillow and pulled out Du Sihui’s confession, handing it to Long Xuanmo.

After Long Xuanmo took it and saw its content, his expression instantly turned chilling and hostile, his eyes flashing with cold murderous intent, "Despicable wretch!"

"I’ve already sent someone to take her to the Border Army Camp. There’s no need for you to get angry again," Yang Mengchen said softly, comforting him. "You give Du Sihui’s testimony to my brother-in-law. The Imperial Older Sister is in her confinement period, make sure she doesn’t find out about it. As for Old Lady Du, she is after all my brother-in-law’s birth mother, so let him handle it."

"Ah Jiu," Long Xuanmo hugged his wife tightly, his eyes misting over.

Truly, thank you!

Not only do you help me handle major affairs outside, but you also take care of the internal family matters and constantly care for my family, freeing me from any worries for the future.

To have such a wife in this life, what more could a husband ask for?

Noticing Long Xuanmo’s emotional fluctuation, Yang Mengchen looked up at him, "Silly, I am your wife, and it is my duty to share your worries and solve your problems. Besides, the inner court is a woman’s battlefield. If you get involved, it would give others something to talk about. Don’t worry, I will handle it well."

"Hmm," Long Xuanmo leaned down to kiss his wife’s lips. "You go ahead and do as you please. I’ll shoulder any troubles that come."

Yang Mengchen, with a smile that lit her face, "People say that Prince Chen is whipped by his wife. Are you really trying to live up to that title?"

"They are jealous, jealous that I have such a splendid wife!" Long Xuanmo declared righteously. "Besides, I am indeed whipped by my wife, and I’m not afraid of others talking. Humans aren’t fish, how can they know the joy of fish?"

Yang Mengchen’s laughter filled the air like the tinkling of bells, her clear eyes rippling with light, and her lips wore a gentle smile.

Long Xuanmo unconsciously swallowed hard, his eyes deep with intent, and a sudden passion flared within him. He leaned down to capture his wife’s lips, then rolled over to press her beneath him, tumbling the sheets together. Afterward, he called for water, and the two of them washed up before heading to the dining room, where they found the Grand Prince sitting at the table, reading a memorial. Several other memorials were also on the table.

Upon seeing the couple arrive, the Grand Prince asked Song Ming to take the memorials away, then ordered the meal to be served.

Giving Long Xuanmo a reproachful glare, Yang Mengchen blushed as she paid her respects to the Grand Prince, then sat down to his right.

Long Xuanmo maintained his composure, but he knew in his heart that he was at fault. How could he have restrained himself at that moment? Naturally, he had forgotten about the Imperial Uncle waiting in the dining room.
