Chapter 44 Understanding (2 / 2)

He quickly picked up Luo Jiaojiao, as if he was holding a precious piece of porcelain, afraid that he would hurt her if he was not careful. He gently put her on the bed, his movements gentle and careful. He quickly stuffed the newly moved quilt back into the cabinet, his eyes never leaving Luo Jiaojiao's face.

Luo Jiaojiao was frightened by his actions and swallowed her saliva. Her heartbeat accelerated and her small hands tightly grasped the bed sheet, as if this was the only way to find a sense of security. She raised her head and looked at Leng Mohan, her voice trembling slightly, "You just said that I agreed to consummate the marriage with you."

Leng Mohan looked at her, with a hint of complex emotions in his eyes. He understood her worries and uneasiness, and also understood her persistence. He took a deep breath and tried to make his voice sound calm and firm, "Jiaojiao, I will respect your wishes. As long as you agree, I will wait until the moment you are willing."

Hearing his words, Luo Jiaojiao finally breathed a sigh of relief. She closed her eyes, not daring to look at Leng Mohan again. She knew her face must have been as red as a ripe apple. She clutched the bed sheet tightly, as if this was the only way to suppress the excitement and anticipation in her heart.

Leng Mohan looked at her tightly closed eyes and slightly trembling eyelashes, and a strong desire to protect her surged in his heart. He gently held her hand and whispered, "Jiaojiao, I will wait for you. Wait for the day you are willing, but there is a deadline, three days later, then we can also move to the cleaned house, okay."

Luo Jiaojiao and Leng Mohan snuggled together. His head rested gently on her neck, as if he was a gentle beast, whispering in her ear.

His warm breath blew on her skin, stirring the throbbing deep in her heart. The deep and magnetic voice was like an irresistible magic, making her thoughts drift along.

Luo Jiaojiao tried to respond to his words, with a mischievous smile on her lips. She whispered softly, "Then how did you get here before? You're lying." Her voice was small, but full of doubt and curiosity.

She wondered how he managed those long, lonely hours when he didn't have her.

Leng Mohan naturally heard her muttering. He tilted his head slightly, and the corner of his mouth twitched, as if he was trying to suppress his smile. He took a deep breath, and then slowly exhaled, with a hint of helplessness and self-mockery. He whispered, "What else can I do? Take a cold shower."

Luo Jiaojiao was stunned by this sentence. She couldn't imagine how he endured loneliness and solitude in the days without her, and how he used cold showers to dispel the heat and desire in his heart. She felt inexplicably touched, as long as he didn't find someone else.

"From now on, I will never let you take a cold shower again." Luo Jiaojiao said softly, biting her lips slightly, her eyes full of determination and tenderness. She looked at him, her eyes full of care and love for him.

Leng Mohan smiled softly when he heard this. He reached out and gently held Luo Jiaojiao's hand, with a playful light in his eyes. He said softly, "Little Ancestor, are you feeling sorry for me? I actually want to try that cold shower now."

Luo Jiaojiao's cheeks turned red when she heard his words. She gently pushed him and said angrily, "Don't talk now."
