"I want to kill you." Matthew hissed. "Get out of here before I accidentally slit your throat."
Kieran snorted. Then he walked away without saying anything else. His car slowly made its way into the exit.
For a few seconds, Kieran didn’t say anything. Then his car slowed down until coming to a halt.
The door on the other side of him opened and a younger man slid in with a smile on his face.
"So?"
The man straightened his suit before looking at Kieran.
"So what? I just pissed him off."
"And the witch?"
"I didn’t feel her there. You said the bomb would have harmed Matthew as well?"
"Yes."
"He wasn’t harmed."
"What do you mean?"
"He’s not injured."
"Maybe he fooled you?"
"Fooled me? I might not be as strong as him Nilo but I can sense an injured Lycan."
"So, he isn’t injured." The man named Nilo stopped smiling. "And the witch?"
"I can’t sense her." Kieran looked outside. "Matthew seemed upset."
This time, Nilo smiled again. "Good. That’s good."
"I already did what you want. Give me the photos."
"Come on... don’t be so impatient. I am certain that fucking your older brother’s wife isn’t actually that big of an issue. Considering, Drigo has more than five already?"
"Shut up!"
"What?" Nilo scoffed. "You should have thought about this when you screwed that woman."
"It was a one-night stand!"
"She was your brother’s wife. She might not be his mate but... she is his wife!"
"I just said it was a one-time thing! A mistake!"
"Hah. And you think Drigo would just forgive you?" Nilo snorted. "Drigo loves to cheat but... he doesn’t like it when his women cheat on him."
"Just fucking give me the files, will you?" Kieran said. Kieran originally wanted to be at Matthew’s side but Nilo de Cene just ruined his plans!
Kieran wanted to kill him.
But Nilo is only second to Almeru when it comes to connection. The man is Almeru’s cousin. And he does everything... dirty.
From killing their enemies to doing all the smuggling of their needs and throwing all dead bodies into the ocean. This man would do everything for the de Cene family.
Though, Kieran heard that Nilo was actually adopted when he was young.
"Here you go..." Nilo have him a small brown envelope from his jacket pocket. He continued smiling.
"No other copies?"
"Who knows?"
"You— "
"I’m kidding. Of course. Everything is in the flash drive. No other copies."
Kieran gritted his teeth. He grabbed a laptop and plugged in the flash drive. Seeing its contents, Kieran could only curse inwardly. The de Cene family has been spying on them. Hell, he knew that the other noble families were doing the same thing. However, he didn’t actually think that they would dare use something like this to try and manipulate a royal!
Sadly, he couldn’t do anything about it.
One word and they would reveal what he did with one of his brother’s wives.
One word and Drigo might kill him.
The fact that Drigo was stronger than him was actually just one reason why he was scared. The second reason was his mother. Drigo’s mother was definitely more influential than Kieran’s. She could hurt Kieran’s mother and rule it as... an accident. Or worse suicide.
"Alright. You may leave," Kieran said.
"Oh, I’m not done yet."
"What?"
"I want you to get close to Matthew."
"He already hates me."
"Well... find something— a way to get close to him."
"And why would I do that?" Kieran narrowed his eyes.
"First, you need his help. He is still the future King. And second, you need to find out about that witch."
"What?"
"Ava... Ava Woods. She’s different."
Kieran said nothing but he actually agreed with his words. Ava Woods is different from the other witches. They could feel it. They could sense it. But they don’t know what was so different about her.
"Why do you say that?" Kieran asked.
"We warned her," Nilo said. "Her brother’s house and car. But instead of helping the man who grew up with her... she kicked them out." ƒгeewebnovёl_com
"What?"
"She chose Matthew over them."
"Matthew would never have..." Matthew was an emotional, unstable mess. He couldn’t control his wolf because of his mother’s death. Moreover, Matthew is very sentimental. There is no way that he would let his witch do something like that.
"Exactly. So... it can only be Ava."
"So, she chose Matthew over them. What’s so strange about that? She’s a slave. Maybe Matthew just doesn’t care— "
"She’s not." Nilo cut him off. "She’s not just a slave and we all know that. She’s special to Matthew. And Matthew would have done everything to protect her and her family."
Kieran pursed his lips without saying anything.
"So, I want you to find out what was so special about her."
Kieran narrowed his eyes at the man before him. "You suspect that she did something during the explosion?"
"That might be the only reason why Matthew is alive. We have... video surveillance of them walking into the building. But we didn’t see them leave. And now you are telling me that Matthew isn’t injured. That doesn’t make any sense, right?"
"I don’t think Matthew would let me back into his house... or life."
"Why?"
"I said something to provoke him. I wanted to see if... something really happened. I asked if the witch is dead."
"And?"
"He threatened to kill me."
"Was he... upset?"
"Yes. He was very upset. He had been drinking."
"And you said, you didn’t sense the witch around?"
"No, I didn’t. I can smell a witch and I have met her before. It would be very hard to forget her smell."
Nilo snorted at that. "Pervert."
"You haven’t seen her," Kieran said. "Did you really think Matthew would make her his slave just because he was powerful?"
Nilo’s face darkened.
"Everyone knows that he has been fucking her," Nilo said.
Kieran rolled his eyes. Of course, he isn’t planning to tell them that Ava was more powerful than any witch he had ever met before. It would be one hell of a funny game once they realized that Ava was actually more powerful than everyone else.
Of course, it would be too late... by then.
