Chapter 185: Eve

Ava waved her hand, and the coin disappeared, leaving a few people groaning.

Now the only way to get the coin is to actually kill Ava!

She heard a tsked behind her and moved before the man wearing a red robe could land a hit. Then she kicked the ground and used magick to float a few inches away from the floor. With these, Ava easily avoided the upcoming attack of the other shifters. Her agile movements and body made it easier for her to avoid getting hit.

"Give me the coin, bitch!"

"Fuck!"

"Kill her!"

Ava snorted. Then two balls of fire appeared in her hand. The ball of fire flickered until it grew bigger and bigger. Then she waved her hand and the ball of fire moved towards the floor, forming a small circle around her.

"Everyone that will get inside the circle..." Ava said, her voice cold and ominous. "Will die!"

Of course, her words didn’t stop anyone from attacking her. A man that looked like he was already in his fifties appeared next to Ava with a dagger in his hand. But before he could thrust the dagger, he stopped moving. Her eyes turned red. Then, slowly, he let out an agonizing scream.

The surrounding people stopped moving as they watch blood flowed from the man’s orifices. The man clutched his chest and then his head. In front of everyone, the man screamed until his upper body exploded.

**THUD**

The man’s knees, or at least what’s left of his knees, hit the floor.

"A domain!" someone from the back shouted.

"You bitch!"

This time, the people surrounding Ava hesitated until someone started attacking the other man who got the coin.

A domain.

She wanted to laugh inwardly.

The Shaman told her that her magick was so destructive that she needed to focus it in one place instead of letting it target everything else around her. The Shaman taught her how to condense her magick into a small area. This wasn’t really a domain but a place where only her magick exist.

With these, everyone that would step inside the circle would experience an agonizing death.

"You think that could stop me?" someone stood just outside of the circle. Then suddenly, Ava squinted.

A needle?

Before the needle that was targeted her way could reach her, the needle disintegrated until nothing was left of it. Yes. Her magick doesn’t just apply to living things, but everything else that would enter the space.

This was the only disadvantage of this skill.

Everyone who would try to approach her would explode. Even if it was Matthew.

Of course, Ava knew and acknowledge the fact that she still needed to practice. Soul Training. That’s what the Shaman taught her.

And she is planning to use this method to perfect her craft.

After a few tries, the others soon give up and after ten minutes, only two people have the coin. Was one Ava and the other was the red-robed guy.

Since both of them were wearing a robe, the other people started whispering about their identities.

"The two of you... follow me." The bald man from earlier said. He ignored the bodies and the blood, as well as the murmurs, as he walked out of the pub.

"I will wait for you in the house." Ava heard the Shaman’s voice inside her head. She nodded without saying a word before she followed the bald man outside of the pub.

The bald man then led them to an alley and into one of the houses. Inside, the man led them to an underground where three people were already waiting.

"Ohohoho— " A deep voice echoed inside the underground space. It was from a man with a clean-cut hairstyle, a clean-shaven face that looked like he was too young to hunt people, and a crooked smile. "What do we have here?" The man added. "A man and a woman?"

"Did they pass the test?" the woman, sporting a short bob and blood-red lipstick, looked at the balding man.

"Yes. Both of them."

"Reveal your face," the woman said.

Ava and the red-robed man immediately did as instructed.

"Ah? What a beauty!"

"Shut up Christoff!" the woman hissed before she glared at Ava. "How old are you?"

"Does that matter?" Ava countered.

"It matters because I said so."

Ava pursed her lips. In this world, acting proper and virtuous isn’t really normal. The shaman specifically warned her about her actions. For now, it is best to act like a thug — a badass one. "I’m younger than you."

"You — " The woman got up.

"Hey, Alex... calm down. We don’t want to ruin her pretty face." The man named Christoff snickered. "She’s the only beauty that we have. We should treasure her, right?"

"I said shut the fuck up!" the woman named Alex glared at the one with the short clean cut hair.

"And if I don’t?"

"I will fucking slit your throat."

"Oh... hoho! See? You are too scary. This is why no one likes you!"

"Shut up, idiot!"

"Alright, that’s enough," the other man spoke. Now that Ava looked at him, he looked older than the two. He had a square jaw and arm-length hair. And damnit, the man looked like a giant! "I am called James. May I know your names?"

"Eve," Ava said, her now brown eyes that were changed using magick, landed on the man called James.

"Fitting name," Christoff said. "I’m Christoff..." Christoff got up and approached Ava. Then he held her hand, attempting to kiss the back of her palm. Of course, Ava immediately removed her hand.

"Oh? You don’t like it when people touch you?" Unfazed at her reaction, Christoff moved even closer. A smirk hung on his smug face. Now that Ava thought about it, Christoff had this bad boy appeal — something very popular with some women.

"The last person who tried to do it... ended up losing his dick," Ava smiled. She didn’t take a step back. Instead, she held his gaze for as long as she can.

"Oh? Hoho! I like you. I like you very much!"
