Chapter 32 Preparing to Open a Milk Tea Shop

After finishing her meal, Jiang Shuwan started making milk tea.

Besides the two large shops given to her by Madam Pei, she also had three small shops.

The shop is small and surrounded by ordinary residential areas, so large and expensive transactions are not feasible.

She decided to have three shops: one selling milk tea, one selling grilled skewers, and one selling oden.

Jiang Yao always wanted to show off. Besides copying poems to gain fame, she also created milk tea and hot pot early on, making a great splash in the capital.

The young ladies of the capital all knew that the second young lady of the Jiang family often came up with some novel snacks and drinks.

The Jiang family also eats milk tea and grilled skewers in their daily diet.

Therefore, Jiang Shuwan will not expose her time-traveling identity by doing this business.

Since Brother Nai is literate, she originally planned to write down the recipe for milk tea and grilled skewers on paper and have Brother Nai arrange for someone to make them.

I thought about it and realized that the servants probably hadn't even heard of the names "milk tea" and "grilled skewers." With just a piece of paper, it would be difficult to make a good taste.

Since she enjoys cooking herself, she decided to give a live demonstration.

It just so happens that it's snowing today, which is the perfect time to make milk tea, so Jiang Shuwan notified her brother to send someone over to learn how.

She also invited Sun Wanwan over to have milk tea together.

The little girl skipped and hopped in from outside. She was rather timid, but when she heard there was something delicious, she ran faster than a rabbit.

"Miss, this is the Marquis's residence, please slow down," Sun Wanwan's personal maid reminded her from behind.

Sun Wanwan slowed down her pace, but she was still walking much faster than usual.

"Come in quickly."

Jiang Shuwan was waiting for her at the courtyard gate. As soon as she saw her, she invited her into the house.

A room full of maids hurriedly greeted Sun Wanwan, took off her cloak, and brushed the snow off her shoulders.

"Wanwan, I heard you made a lot of noise on your return visit today. Even the Song family relatives were all fawning over you."

"And the Crown Prince also gave you special face, sending you many generous gifts for your return visit."

"The news spread so fast?" Jiang Shuwan raised an eyebrow.

"That's how it is in the capital; even the slightest bit of news flies around everywhere."

Of course, the most important thing is that she and Jiang Shuwan are good friends, and she cares about Jiang Shuwan's affairs.

"When will you make the milk tea? Wanwan, your milk tea is so delicious! What toppings are there today? I want a whole bowl of taro balls!" Sun Wanwan said excitedly.

The one who learned to make milk tea was Xiao Tao's sister-in-law. Before, when Granny Tao was not valued in the Jiang family, Xiao Tao's sister-in-law could only work as a kitchen helper.

At this moment, Sister-in-law Xiaotao was looking at Jiang Shuwan with a shocked expression.

Sister-in-law Xiaotao helps out in the kitchen; she even assisted Jiang Yao when she made milk tea.

Jiang Shuwan's method is similar to Jiang Yao's, and the ingredients are also tea, milk, and syrup.

But her tidbits were far more abundant than Jiang Yao's.

Jiang Shuwan made four or five kinds of taro balls alone.

They are round and plump, only the size of a fingernail, and are made into different colors with pumpkin powder, purple sweet potato powder, matcha powder, etc. They are served in small celadon bowls and their colors are very eye-catching.

Other toppings include pearls, taro paste, various kinds of red beans, various kinds of dried fruit, crushed peanuts, etc.

There are more than twenty kinds in total.

Jiang Shuwan also came up with a unique idea for the container for the milk tea, using a clean, light green bamboo tube.

In the desolate winter, Jiang Shuwan specially chose a green bamboo tube for her milk tea.

The bamboo tube is small and exquisite, with a smooth, non-prickly rim.

Sun Wanwan fell in love with the bamboo tube at first sight and held it in her hands with great affection.

On the other side, the milk tea on the stove was ready. Jiang Shuwan took a bamboo tube and asked her what toppings she wanted, piling them up into a small cone.

Having a sip of hot milk tea on a cold winter's day is so refreshing.

Sun Wanwan held the bamboo tube and couldn't wait to take a sip.

Jiang Yao likes to add a lot of sugar when making milk tea, making it cloyingly sweet.

Jiang Shuwan's milk tea has just the right amount of sweetness, and each sip is packed with toppings, making it incredibly satisfying.

In particular, Jiang Shuwan specially used black and white taro balls to make a small animal with round eyes, a short tail, and black and white stripes, and placed it on top of the milk tea.

Sun Wanwan had read about this animal in a book and knew that it was called a giant panda, also known as an iron-eating beast.

A specialty of Sichuan, it possesses immense strength and is extremely ferocious; even farmers are terrified and hide from it.

Unexpectedly, Jiang Shuwan turned it into milk tea. It has round ears, round and black eyes, and a chubby and round body.

It doesn't look fierce at all; it's rather adorable and very cute.

"What an adorable iron-eating beast."

For a moment, Sun Wanwan couldn't bear to eat it.

Qingxing was also very envious when she saw it and begged Jiang Shuwan to make one for her too.

Jiang Shuwan agreed to everything and even made one for the wet nurse.

She taught Xiao Tao's sister-in-law as she did it, and Xiao Tao's sister-in-law was quick and skillful, learning it in no time.

In the end, all the maids and servants in the room ate the iron-eating beast.

"I ate the iron-eating beast," Qingxing said, laughing as she ate.

At first, she only thought the panda dumpling was cute, but after hearing Sun Wanwan say that it was a ferocious beast, she felt a surge of heroic spirit when she ate it.

She ate a ferocious beast! Isn't that amazing?

Sun Wanwan couldn't bear to eat it.

"This panda cub is so cute."

Chun Jiao and Mei Xue couldn't bear to eat it either.

They were servants of the Jiang family and rarely went out. The only animals they had ever seen were cats and dogs; they had never seen such a black and white animal before.

So, quite strangely, it only drank milk tea and ate the toppings, without touching the panda dumpling at all.

She drank her milk tea very gently, as if afraid of hurting the panda ball.

Granny Tao and Granny Nanny were curious for a while, but in the end they ate the panda dumpling in a few bites.

Especially Granny Tao, whose daughter-in-law would be in charge of the milk tea shop from now on, asked her while eating if she had memorized the recipe.
