Chapter 47 Jiang Yao Makes a Fool of Herself

“We’re all sisters in the same family. If the younger sister-in-law is so unruly and lacks manners, the young mistress will certainly not be any better.”

Wen's cold gaze softened slightly.

The storeroom maid poured tea for her while whispering, "Madam, I think so too. Although the young mistress did not make any mistakes in etiquette when she served tea, judging from her sister's behavior, the young mistress must be just a figurehead. She will show her true colors when faced with a big occasion."

They weren't the only ones who thought this way; the other women in the clan thought the same.

"If Miss Jiang is like this, Miss Jiang is probably not much better off."

"Our Pei family has two prominent members, yet the heir's wife is like this."

The wives all shook their heads, having given up hope on Jiang Shuwan.

He couldn't help but ask his third and fourth wives about it.

"Haven't the Third and Fourth Madams met the Heir Apparent's wife before?"

"Tell us about it too, so we have some information."

“The Crown Prince’s wife is extremely polite. We met her once when we were serving tea, and she was very well-mannered in every way.”

"She is quite beautiful."

"He speaks with tact and discretion."

The third and fourth wives shared their impressions of Jiang Shuwan with them.

All the wives looked on with disbelief.

"Did the Third and Fourth Madams both receive red envelopes from the Heir Apparent's wife?"

"At least her sister has a reputation for talent, but she has nothing."

"We've all seen how her sister is. They're both daughters of the Jiang family, so how much better can her older sister be?"

Sitting in the corner, Jiang Yao felt as if she had been stabbed again, feeling both hatred and pain.

She warmly welcomed the insults directed at Jiang Shuwan; what was a little beating of her? Hadn't she had enough of beating her just now?

"In my opinion, the daughters of the Jiang family are probably all just average."

"I don't have high expectations for the Crown Prince's wife anymore. As long as she's a normal person, I can accept her."

"As long as she's not as outrageous as her sister, it's fine."

Jiang Yao was so angry that she nearly fell backward.

She stepped on her again and again...

Why do you keep stepping on her?!

She wouldn't let her go even when she hid in a corner!

Two out of three sentences are about putting her down. These ladies are only happy if they don't include her, right...?

Feeling nauseous and her chest heaving, Jiang Yao tore a handkerchief to shreds, desperately hoping that Jiang Shuwan would appear soon.

If there weren't even worse comparisons, she would have been trampled to death by them...

As if the heavens had heard her longing and responded, there was a sound outside.

"The young mistress has arrived."

The gatekeeper's voice reached everyone's ears, and as Jiang Shuwan drew closer, several maids called out, "Young Mistress has arrived."

Everyone inside held their breath and stared intently at the curtain at the doorway.

There was a sound of footsteps outside, getting closer and closer.

Finally, the footsteps reached the door.

"Young mistress, please come in."

The curtain was pulled back, and a beautiful woman appeared before everyone.
